I wonder if it would be possible to BLJ from the Lobby directly to the Bowser 2 loading point... Bypassing the whole basement loading point. Then, we wouldn't even need B1.

no, because the 2nd bowser part isn't loaded when the first one is. ok, now i see where the BLJ is, but the only way to get inside the column is by going to the stairs below and jumping up, so it doesn't save time if only to skip door opening animations. But it's very important in the 0 star completion goal.

Well, it looks like it would save time getting to B1... Normally, you'd get the door animation, then have to LJ to the trap door... Maybe not.

This would allow the next run to skip BoB. BTW, the basement floor and top floor don't exist, so its not possible. I managed to get myself jammed inbetween the key door and that didn't work, you have to activate the door animation.

Maybe that's useful, maybe it isn't. I think getting the chain chomp cage star isn't too slow, and one can get the star in the island without the cannon, so i don't know how good it'd be to go down and then up in the lobby, but everything has to be timed first, that'd make things easier.

But, as I've been saying, it opens up more star opportunities for 16-star runs... For instance, if I were making a TAS 16-star run, I'd probably do something like this... Star 1: Chip Off Whomp Star 2: Top of Fortress Star 3: Wild Blue Star 4: Blast Away Wall Star 5: Wall Kicks Star 6: Baby Penguin Star 7: Bowser Coins Star 8: LLL Coins Star 9: LLL Elevator Star 10: Big Bird Star 11: Pyramid Star 12: Rolling Rocks Star 13: Emergency Exit Star 14: Floating Island? Star 15: Toad

The next step would be to find a place where you can BLJ in the basement, it doesn't have to be remotely near the star door. My question is if you were moving at hyperspeed through the second star door, would you bypass the DDD level, I personally think you would, becuase why was I able to bypass the pit in the first bowser room.

Nice glitch AKA! Really made my day :). Now, I know we can't glitch into the 2nd floor, but there must be some soft spot where you can glitch through, like a pixel in the wall. Near the doorway to the secret slide (a floor above CCM), there are some funny things going on in the ceiling. Maybe you can find a soft spot there?

Possibly... Well, one thing's for sure: we're one big step closer to beating the game with zero stars.

As I understand it, toad can't be your 15th star. A zone change is required to make MIPS appear.

the spiral staircase that is seen on the vidoe AKA posted are probably missing their end and door above. even if there is a door above, there can't be anything past it, since that part isn't loaded. they probably just put those graphics there because they had extra free poligons count and you can see through the walls sometimes.

Hmm, maybe we can just skip MIPS all together, if we find a way to BLJ into DDD/BFS. Finding a BLJ spot in the garden might be helpful?

Yes, if you can find a point where you can indefinitely BLJ like he did inside the pillar in the lobby, then you can go practically anywhere because you'd still have a lot of speed stored. (practically anywhere in the currently loaded places) edit: oh right, as m_z said, it's a loading point. so no... The reason i never could get into B1 was because the stairs near JRB give too little speed. By the time i got near B1 door i was almost stopped.

Garden? As in the courtyard? If so, then no, because that's a loading point... If we found a BLJ opportunity in the basement, Toad would be unnessecary, as would be every star in the whole game, except for Bowser's Sub.

They put that little fake room there because you can see it as you open the door. But yeah... its a copy of the stairs in the other area. Fortunately the basement is pretty large. There has to be a spot somewhere to BLJ.

You have to fall into the loading area under the floor and you went fast over the trap door but also went through the invisible wall. Noone has shown being able to BLJ through a loading area without triggering it yet.

But unfortunately, the basement is built pretty solidly, polygon-speaking... The only place that comes to mind is using Toad to merge into the pillar behind him. Hopefully, there would be an invisible wall behind there. You'd be at a bad angle, and you would have very little room to BLJ, but it could work...

If mario is fast enough, it's perfectly possible to not touch the water and pass right through it.

I dont know... it seems to me likely that the loading trigger extends from the water to the back of the hall and maybe beyond. Ill retract this statement once someone posts a picture of mario standing behind the water :P

Hmm well those columns that cover the corners might be fruitful...

Yes, but as far as I know, you can only use Toad to get into them, which leaves only one column.... You can probably also use MIPS, but that sorta defeats the purpose.

I tried glitch past the basement door and entering from the wrong side so I could bLJ, but it didn't work. I think if mario enters the water at hyperspeed then it would probally kill off all his speed, this is in reference the area outside the castle, its difficult to build up a lot of speed and control, becuase you have to leave the top of the castle without being damaged, plus the of the water in M64 and OoT are all basically giant squares so there is a near certainty it extends underneath the castle. Only own way to know and thats do it in practice. Although I'd have a hard enough time getting on top of the castle with 0 stars.

Yeah, I was sure that wouldn't work... The column behind toad possibility is still open, though.

Well our goal right now would be to find a place in the basement where BLJ is possible. Discussing if you could get behind DDD or not is the next part and at the moment less interesting.

Is that mini set of stairs in the basement room with the 30 star door BLJ'able? Maybe some kind of sideways BLJ, much like what was used to get into JRB could be used? IDK if this is reasonable, just throwing out ideas.

I've looked all over the basement and I can't find anywhere to BLJ, both the Toads are too repellent when it comes to glitching through the walls. I personally think that there is more chance of using MIPS to bypass DDD in someway than glitching through the door without him.
