If you know something about this, a patch for that, and the heat effect in DRC would be amazing. I know nothing about it, so anything would be awesome.

I currently use that patch, and no, it does not affect syncing. It does not affect the chest fadeout. I'll look into making a patch for that when I get there, and also one for the fire effects.

I was a big believer in barrier skip once, but by now I really doubt that it's going to happen. This game has been destroyed in the past year and we still aren't any closer. The barrier is just imba and Hyrule doesn't have anything that could help (doors, chests, swimable water). So I really don't think you have to worry about that.
I still believe it will happen someday.

Welcome to TASVideos! I hate to reply to a topic like this, but your encodes are not HD, and you really aren't reputable. If you want to encode TASes, you should look over the encoding guidelines and tutorials. You really don't need to make a topic like this, especially if this is going to be your only post. To me, you come off as some kid who just wants views on their youtube. Tbh, I wouldn't want a TAS on your channel.

I am working on the any% :P. Almost done with FoF. Had to change rupee route again for being ridiculously impossible to manipulate for 5 green rupees in FoF from knocking down 2 bokoblins.

Here's a screwball, doesn't the intro count as game choice? It's part of the game, and I chose it. On a serious note: TASes like this can be found at http://tasvideos.org/Zeupar/Crash.html. I would still like to see a demos category that would fit this in it. Also, clarification on the term softlock. Even though you cannot move around, in this game atleast, you can restart by holding B+X+Start. As far as I know, that is the definition, and I know that this would be considered a softlock by the Zelda community. I suppose it doesn't matter currently, as this won't be accepted for different reasons. I wonder if a fastest crash would do better... I'll TAS it, but until there is some sort of catagory for it, I won't waste your time. It will be quite a bit different from what I can think of, considering I know of few crashes in this game.

I am slowly (but surely) working on it. I've been going so slowly because of the possibility of barrier skip http://zeldaspeedruns.com/tww/Miscellaneous/barrier-skip. I'll still finish the current TAS if it is found and give it some good goal, like all temples or something, but barrier skip really saps my motivation. Right now I am about 10 minutes into the any% TAS, I won't be releasing a WIP for a while, and idk how many I will release. I will not release WIPs too far into the game, just so it doesn't seem like everything has been seen already.

Tip to anyone wanting to submit one of these: Make sure the game doesn't have a 5 minute intro.

I'm sorry, can you please explain what the point of this was? All I see is the video being incredibly boring and leading to a mailbox and then the video ending. What is this softlock? Why is it a worthwhile goal? Why, when the text is so ridiculously slow, is it more entertaining in Japanese? This has left me with more confusion then anything else, and as such, I can't even vote because I have no idea what the hell I just watched. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
Sorry, I must not have been clear about the softlock. The softlock is that whenever you activate the glitched cutscene from entering Windfall Island and talk with the mailbox, you lose all control and the game does not accept input. You cannot stop this "talking with the mailbox" state. The goal is just to see how fast the game can be softlocked. The text is in Japanese because it is faster, so I found it more entertaining that it is a faster time when no one is going to watch the intro anyways. Also, can the file please be replaced with this: http://www.mediafire.com/?4mz1z9v867ys644 ? I took off the extra blank input at the end.

TWW runs at 60 VPS, but at 30 FPS (It may be the other way around). I actually think I left some blank input at the end of the .dtm too, I'll have to fix that.

Amazing job! Deserves to be at the top of the workbench, above all these vault submissions.

I believe this should get published. The fact that they used codes doesn't seem too relevant to me, considering it is glitched using them. It's hard to explain the way I look at it, so I won't even try. Pretty much since it's not the intended way of using the code, it really isn't using the code.

While I wanted to have the first GC publication, I have to say congrats. I look forward to seeing this even more optimized. This is a great step in TASing, and you have done a great job.

So what's the line on game choice?
I would say it's a mixture of technicality and entertainment that isn't based on the game itself, such as interesting stuff in waiting periods. Also, this game has a RNG that is determined when you select which level. In this TAS, it doesn't seem like it was manipulated, so I assume it is sub-optimal anyways.

I definitely am looking for some discussion here. Even for a the Vault tier, where game choice is not an issue. Is this still something that should be published? If not, why? What about the requirements could be changed to clearly draw a line between then and "more worthy" game choices? I hope to flesh out some clarification based on the discussion ehre.
I would say that this shouldn't even go to the vault tier, because of how simple the TAS would be to make. I'm not sure if this abused luck manipulation, or if it is even possible within this game. Of course, this is all based off the game, so I don't really know how to classify it.

Not quite sure where to ask this, but does Dolphin support pausing a movie at the end of playback? I really want to dump some videos, but I don't have time to keep watching them, and would like to do it overnight. I feel like this is simple and that I'm just missing something easy, but I can't seem to find it.

I'd rather not talk about what TASes would be good for consoles that won't be emulated for a long time. Xbox and PS2 aren't even TASable yet. Imagine the type of computer it would take to emulate and TAS PS3/Xbox360. That Doritos crash course game doesn't seem like a good TAS anyways. Just stick with TASable games. Or start coding your own 360 emulator if you really want it.

Perhaps as soon as you load the recording, pause the emulator. Then try loading the same state that you started the recording with.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Fastest softlock: Superswim to forsaken fortress to make it night, superswim to Windfall for Intro CS glitch, talk with Tott or Mailbox. Just finished TASing it actually: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t253OYgmuzk Fastest crash: Superswim to Forsaken Fortress to make it night. Superswim to Outset and somehow get to Forest of Fairies with the bridge gone. Probably just a crazy fast superswim.

Afaik, recordings can only be started from the loading of the game, not after. If you would like to start from after, you would need to Start Recording -> Play to the end of where you want the video. Then load a savestate where you want it to start. Hopefully that makes sense.

Some awesome guy on youtube helped me disable the door fadeout effect. Of course this uses patches, but I think this would look better than wireframe. Example: Link to video
