Abahbob, do you have a route in mind knowing unfortunately shuffle refused to release his code :/
The route is being worked on by me, wooferzfg, nap, and some other TWW people. It's a mixture of the current RTA route and the old TAS route, implementing rollclipping and getting the leaf before FF1.

I'm back, going to be using the latest version of dolphin without GBA.

This game is seriously broken. Repeatedly opening and closing the pause menu crashes the game. Heck, sometimes the game randomly crashes on transitions. I figure this could be a goldmine for anyone who knows what to look for.

So, I've already made a TAS of Winx Club on the GBA, but there's one thing that needs to be looked into. When you hit a boss from OoB before starting the fight, the game freaks out. It'd be easier to show you: Link to video As you can see, things get messed up pretty quick. Getting hit, touching the boss, or attacking it will all have similar but different effects. After that, different movements will cause different effects as well. It seems that getting the boss back on screen causes even more issues, typically causing a quick crash. I lack the experience to debug this myself, although I have tried a bit. It seems that as soon as you interact with the boss, the beginning of the OAM gets messed up and is written to instead of some later section. I'd really love to see this lead to some skip, as it seems so promising. This can be done on any boss afaik. It can also be done on the first boss, you just need to hit it with a fireball from underneath and get it off screen as soon as possible. It's located in the top left corner of the screen, you can use my TAS as inputs to get out of bounds

Oh man, I never thought the person who randomly found dry storage would turn out to be such a cool guy and a great TASer! Loved the TAS, great work.

Yes, that is the one. I would test it, but recent builds of Dolphin seem to crash whenever I load the save that is in that room <_<.

I jumped right into Wind Waker, made some silly 2D TASes along the way, but I learned 3D from TASing 3D. It wasn't easy though, took months until I was half-way decent. TASing 2D first just helps learning how to TAS and basic optimizations, it's a completely different game than TASing in 3D. Edit: Also, I'm not planning on continuing my WIP TAS of this game. It really needs to be done in Japanese instead and I made silly mistakes early on. Good luck anyone who wants to do it, it should be a pretty short TAS anyways. The difficulties I see are navigating the Floor 1.5 or whatever and King Boo fight.

Maybe this can help some people, doesn't cover the actual TASing much, just how to use dolphin. Do mind that it was using 3.0-766, so it's old. Shouldn't have changed too much. Link to video

Oh, VS 2012 doesn't work? I guess I'll go back a few builds and use 2010 again.

For whatever reason, I'm having issues building Dolphin 4.0 in VS 2012. I guess I can't help, sorry.

I tested Rachel's build, load times were still too fast, loads on frigate atleast were non-existant. When I get around to it, I'll do some more testing from OoB manually loading rooms and rebuilding dolphin with different load speeds and access times and see if I can get something close. Idk when I'll get around to it, I've been working on my TWW hack and the TWW TAS a bit recently.

The exact angle is tough to get, because it is dependent on the camera and this script doesn't use it from a straight top down angle. From what I've noticed, superswims work from 136 degree to 224 degree changes. I don't believe there is any fluctuation in the speed from the waves, since they actually aren't counted by the speed address I use. The address I use is more of a potential speed, if you are rolling into a wall and not moving, it could say you are moving 26 units/frame. I'm pretty sure the issue for calculating speed is the swimming animation. If you watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUmYeOgY1Fw around 17 minutes, you can see a superswim from the front and you'll be able to see that it seems like the animation actually takes a different amount of time at various times. The decay from the graph most likely is a result of having less air. It seems as though the less air you have, the less speed you have. Whenever Link starts gulping for air and the meter turns red, speed decreases quite a bit. It is important to not that this doesn't affect you if you are already blasting off at high speeds, only when you are gaining speed. I wish I still had the graph of the first superswim in the run. As soon as I get the re-air at Outset, the speed jumps up several hundred units/frame.

Well, the TWW TAS is in japanese purely for text. Charts and rupees are slower, deed skip is harder, only faster thing is barrier cutscene skip. TASVideos wont deny this or TWW just for being in Japanese lmao. But I agree with Fishaman, if its been started on U, its up to the author to choose to restart.

Just TASed about 1000 frames today. Working on updating the route. Officially back on this? No. But I want to get a bit further and show off what the game has. Maybe finish, idfk.

Sorry, I was busy TASing Wind Waker >.> I'll get around to it. Rachel, I'm interested in how you chose those values. Were they guesses?

I can test it tomorrow, I need to pull a new build since mine doesn't have disc_access_time.

Do you even realize how long it would take to make a full TAS of Metroid Prime? You make it sound like a TAS is something that just appears out of nowhere. Are you going to build a house on crappy foundation? I don't think so. It's a HUGE time investment. If you want to see a TAS so bad, do it yourself.

How about you just ask itspersonnal if he wants to make the TAS instead of trying to convince him that being accepted to TASVideos is the most important thing for a TAS to accomplish?

Hell, routing out a TWW TAS with tuner would be amazingly fun. Shit like hoverslides, my god. Perhaps one day...

That's actually quite an interesting idea. We would need a partner to make the group though.

Doubtful, although I don't know if anyone has worked on the GBA link part. I'll check right now cuz why not. Edit: Still doesn't work.
