The reason for the different routes is Triforce Charts and Rupees. One chart takes 4 extra charts to get. There are less rupees in certain place on J. The only place on the top of my head is skipping the barrier cutscene on J, which you can't on U.

Haven't seen this movie yet, but I will say that Dolphin does not count rerecords accurately. I'm not sure exactly how it does it, but iirc, if you don't save the movie, it doesn't count the rerecords. This way if you decide that you couldn't get anywhere, or just use savestates without making a .dtm every time, you will get a low rerecord count. I know I have done atleast 10,000 rerecords on my previous TWW TAS project, but it only counted 2,000. I suggest that you don't let rerecord count factor into this too much, especially less than other games. I'll comment and vote on this soon.

Terrible game choice. Also, just level 1? Decided to download the rom and the movie. Voting no just because of game choice. Edit: Got it to sync. Still looks boring.

It look very nice, I haven't had time to watch it all the way through though. I'll watch through it on Dolphin if I can get it to sync. It kind of disturbs me that there isn't much of an explanation of what is going on and possible mistakes/improvements. For a TAS this long, not to mention a 3D GC game. The movements seem clean, but it appears like there could be just some simple movement optimizations. Right now I'll wait until I have time to watch the whole thing before I vote. Edit: Looking at it more indepth, I think I won't vote on this. Too confusing for me to keep up with. Especially because I haven't played the game.

You need to re-air by touching the very edge of an island, without losing speed. Also, you should check every frame to see how fast you go, because certain frames are faster than others.

It'll be a lot longer now. Having to restart again. Pretty much brand new route. Link to video Pretty much there is now no chance for Forest Water, but storage will be used. In a bunch of places.

Seriously, triple posting? There is an edit button you know, especially for such little/no importance. 1) I know sail pumping. 2) I would be glad to accept your help on information, but I don't need help on the actual TASing. I have other people who may do some. 3) No, you need the KoRL, and hence you must go to that island.

From what I've heard, SSBM isn't too friendly. I suggest you try different Dolphin builds. It sucks that you've already gotten far into the TAS, but hopefully it will sync with different versions. ReneBalow just did a short TAS using 3.0 617, maybe that will work well. It shouldn't matter much where you create states, if at all. Just don't start playback from a state apparently. I haven't had trouble with it, but I've heard that it causes desyncs. Let the game fully load up until you see the nintendo logo or something before loading a state, for me in TWW it messes up if I don't wait. Make sure that you don't change any settings from when you record. The only thing I do is that when I record inputs, I use Direct3D11, then to dump video I use OpenGL. I think that using those 2 works fine, but Direct3D9 and switching between that causes desyncs. Check the GC emus forum if you don't know the best TAS settings. The only reason I'm saying this is because of the inconsistency of the desyncs, sorry if I'm saying stuff you already know. Good luck, I know how annoying Dolphin is first hand. One other thing, make sure that you watch your movie from the beginning after every match. I know that it's a lot of times, but I suggest it just because of how terrible it is to restart over and over. Good luck, and if you have any questions with Dolphin you can ask me.

No, and I doubt Dolphin will have support for a long time.

Yeah, there is a big octo that is there. They don't appear if you aren't in KoRL, but you can see the gulls that are there. That's not an error.

That is indeed a nice WIP. I don't suppose you could have wasted your hearts faster by getting hit by the ships' bomb cannons? The lightning stun just seems to have such a long invincibility time..
The cannons only do 1/4th heart, so it is slower.

What happened to the screen the first time you began swimming? Emulation graphic glitch or youtube?
I'm not quite sure what you are talking about. During the swim it turns gray because I go through a big octo area.

I'm not sure on the exact amount, but it's much faster than going the normal route past the moblins.

I didn't need nearly as much speed. Iirc correctly, it was about 1/6 the speed.

Here you all go. A new segment, cutscenes removed, final TAS unless there is some new giant skip found. Link to video

Using MHS isn't really worth it. I doubt you can use it for a full TAS. The main thing is the lack of Float Big Endian. I've been using Cheat Engine and after adding Float Big Endian, 2 Byte Big Endian, and using pointers and all that crap, it automatically syncs when I connect it to Dolphin. Big thanks to Kuwaga for the help. I'd just suggest that anyone uses Cheat Engine 6.2. Good luck to anyone. Also, one other thing I noticed is that the offset for use with pointers is equal to the AR code. That's helpful for converting between the two.

Shortest most informative title I could think of. Also it has barrier skip in it.

Saves about 20 seconds on J. Maybe be possible on U with a well timed jumpslash, though I doubt it because of the way that it fades out into black on J. U requires you to hit the barrier, J requires you to get close. Link to video

Just wanting to say, I deleted the water in the ocean and tried opening up the chests underwater. The chests don't exist underwater. They should be thought of as areas that if you use grapple in KoRL, you get a chest. I tried opening triforce chests, random chests, and chart chests. None were there. I know I was in the right spot because the light rings appeared on the bottom.

Still, text storage requires forest water, and I don't think we want to go down that road.

Well, it may be possible with getting it to unload it while you are under it moving fast, then leafing in, but there would be no point. I also believe it crashes if you don't destroy the headstone. When you beat the temple I mean.

We need them for Jalhalla atleast. I think StoneWatcher needs them to not get crushed. So we are getting them.

Link to video I don't know if this is the best place for the clip. Seems far away, but clipping anywhere else is ridiculous and I couldn't do it.
