Actually, there aren't many zombie hovers

I was thinking get it and use it once. I believe it never wears off even from loading zones.

Mugg, if you find just about any tricks, I'll restart on NTSC-J. Since we don't use the chest under Grandma's house, it doesn't seem like NTSC-J is much worse than NTSC-U, and the text speed up would be so nice. I really like how low the railing is on J, saves a bunch of magic. Also, here's an idea I was thinking of. I'm at school so I can't get on #zelda, so i'll ask here. Do you think that getting a fairy while at mother and child, and using it for grandma to get elixer would be worth it? I'm not sure if there would be any better places, but that double damage seems really appealing considering I don't need to worry about taking damage with savestates. I was thinking of getting an extra bottle on my way from greatfish to nfi, but I don't see too much of a point because I wouldn't be able to get a fairy from an ideal place, unless I would waste time going into nfi before ff1, which I don't see as being realistic. Well, whatever. Schools almost out so I'll be on #zelda soon.

I am for NFI first. This possibly saves a trip for battleship again, instead of once this early and once during storm. This also saves some time with the Forest Water, as Kirkq suggests. The time it saves is unknown at this point, but I believe it is enough time to add another island, as it saves a couple seconds inside of NFI, and the time doing another superswim. I'm restarting again, so this time I am making it a clean run. Also, going to post some notes here just to keep them somewhere. Early Game: 4: No Tingle here 5: Superswim to requiem 7: Bag dive 9: Superswim to Northern Fairy Isle sub 10: Disable light 1, land on boat for damage, Tetra 11: Superswim to bomb shop, superswim to Tingle 12: Damage from deku baba, normal ww dive entry 14: Bird's Peak yes 17: Place pearls. 18: Get Needle Rock Isle and Islet of Steel Charts. Actually, I haven't ever seen a L for levitate for tww, even NTSC-U. For instant forest water, I just use the codes for having items, like have a bottle with a fairy. I believe changing the value to 59 or something is forest water, and as long as you don't already have any, it will have a time of 00:00. Idk if it works for anything like storage, but it's worth a shot.

I know, I just keep messing around and finding more random things. Aha, another idea just came to me for a little FF2 skip. I wonder if you could skip the KoRL's first talk at FF2 by swimming under the loading zone for phantom ganon. EDIT: New Diamond Steppe island entry with superswim. Link to video

Yeah Parax, thats the crap we've been trying with no prevail. I personally haven't even done it, but TylerAtrip and Mugg have both attempted. Also: More swim crap Link to video

Islet of Steel: Simple superswim through boat in front. No need to get unloaded. Easy time waster along with birds peak, if necessary. Diamond Steppe Island: A perfectly timed superswim through the island as it loads can get you to the top, so no items required to get in. Very, very tough. Also tough to get rid of the extra momentum. Edit: New superswim use: Skip the beginning of ToG by using speed to climb through the waterfall. Link to video

Okay, I'm not going to work on the TAS today. I'll see if I can speed up some of the later sections with superswim unloading and crap. I think some of these items aren't needed if I could get some perfect unloading timing and such

The barrier goes INCREDIBLY high up, but not infinitely. It goes far down, but not too far

That is what I am going to try to do. If it is successful, I will restart my run, and it will be a much cleaner run. A 0-Heart Wind Waker dive lined up correctly for a zombie hover into the loading zone for Gannon's Tower.

Well, we are all hoping for a barrier skip. I'm going to mess with it when I get there. Letting Tingle out was necessary, on the way, and took almost no time on the Forest Water, so I'm confident that doing it on the way for bombs is the way to go.

Finished FF1 with about 15:10 left on Forest Water. Link to video Edit: Just got bombs. 14:03 Letting Tingle out took 3 seconds... Wow

Let's just focus on Wind Waker instead of turning this into a flame war.

No problem Mugg. Any help is, well, helpful. I would like everyone to officially know that this is and always has been a test run, so you don't need to say it sucks or whatever. Edit: Also, the turning on the superswims is strange. It's not as simple as get the perfect angle to start, because no matter how hard I've tried, the angle is just to fine to get. I turn at certain times because in order to keep speed, it seems like a turn must be for the duration of one stroke for Link, or else you lose quite a bit of speed.

See, this is a test run. In the sub, I was going to get a sword, but it wasn't lining up right. It would be faster, but w/e. Am I taking this seriously? Yeah. The question is, what have you done? Questioning me won't make me work faster. Honestly, this TAS is a pain in the ass. This isn't going to be optimized whatsoever. This is TAS. Tool-Assisted. I'm playing with a keyboard right now. This isn't going to be my legit TAS. I've already had to start over, and I dont think this is even going to be the real run. So I just don't see a point perfecting little rolls and such. I'm not around because I'm busy in ZSR or working on this project.

Nah, as far as I could imagine, octos are pointless for TAS. Just involves more sailing and very little gain. I'll actually re-do that video with memory watch like Kirkq said, because I lose a ton of speed in so many places. Also, i couldnt superswim as clean, because from Windfall to Greatfish is only across one quadrant diagonally, while Outset to Windfall is quite far

Hey, just saying im starting to TAS tww. It's already annoying, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. FoF Early causes Early Bombs to glitch, so thats out. Tingle Tuner is needed badly, just realizing that. Oh well
