Just an idea for special stages, i did it when i was trying my test run however many years ago, in the special stages, you can jump over bouncers and red spheres and land inbetween them. I found this saved time, although i don't think you can jump forever.

By the way, are you planning on collecting the super emeralds? You really should. It's possible to do as sonic by the end of Mushroom Hill Zone, and it'd be annoying if the "Collects All Emeralds" run... didn't.
I agree with you there, but is this run an all emeralds or a super sonic run? I'd prefer all emeralds, but it's up to the author to decide imo.

Great, I'll go look at it now. Rapidshare has been evil for me, lol.

On the whole I'd say the run is good, but there are some things with it. As IdeaMagnate pointed out, the race. I wasn't too sure about the first person part either. Also, the fight with Buzz and the tyre (sometimes it seemed that he wasn't hit the earliest possible). That's all i have to say for now.

How do you get the jiggy on top of the mountain after hitting the witch switch (I'm talking about when you enter the level) without being a termite? Can you just get there normally using frame advance?
Yeah - somebody posted a couple pages back with a method for getting to the top by jumping/rolling/etc in the right places.
Oops, I missed that... Does this mean you can climb all slippery slopes? Without the talon trot?
No. You can get anywhere within a certain (large) distance of any edge of the slope. You cannot (for example) reach the first note door without Talon Trot (slope too long) or enter Gnawty's lair in the summer. (The back wall of the tunnel blocks the technique.)
Isn't the mountain slope (the entrance to the first level) a lot larger than the first note door's slope?
By large, i'm guessing long distance not the angle of the slope.

Couldn't you do something like create a file with all possible combinations (yeah i know, it would be HUGE) and then go through the list in sequential order. If there is an input which causes a premature failure (damage, death etc.), all the possible inputs with that at the beginning could be deleted (crossing off a large amount of possibilities). If a failure after all frames have been input (out of time) then just delete it. If a victory is achieved, it deletes all values that use more frames and the same input (and put it in a victory file or something with a frame count). I know it would be a huge file, but surely it would cut out on a lot of possibilities and trying the same ones again. This was what I was going to try but I got a bit busy and forgot about it, and i didn't know much of the language at the time (can't remember the name at the moment, lol, was it C++?) especially I/O with files, although it could be done with multi-dimensional arrays. I'm getting good at handling data without I/O (unless you include Microsoft SQL databases and Lotus Notes) in Visual C++ .NET, but I'm almost certain the methods I'm using are .NET only so that wouldn't help too much... Ok, that probably doesn't make much sense since i'm half asleep but if you're confused by it I'll rewrite it when I'm awake. I know it's a complete redesign of the bisqbot engine but it may work... oh, and if you ever do a TAS@home thing, I'll have my computer on 24/7.

Sorry to ask, but could someone post another mirror or email me the plugin at admiraljonb@aol.com? None of the sites appear to work for me. Thanks.

Just a random thing to say, but I'm much more excited for this than Mario 64.

The problem is that rolling and other things can only be in in 8 directions.
That's definitely not true. I count at least 24 different directions of rolling. And adjusting the analog for normal running gives extremely fine control, no need to rely on the camera being behind you.
Thing is, this is being done with a keyboard, that's why they're saying only 8 directions. Unless that's been changed.

Your English sucks? If you say so, I don't agree. Definately not the worst I've seen... Anyway, brilliant progress.

I know I'm a little late, but good work so far with spiral mountain (considering you're using a keyboard as well). Don't give up on it, keyboard or gamepad, I'll still watch it. A little tip (although I'm not certain of it) but can you turn the camera with the c < and > keys? that could help making movement more accurate. Just an idea.

Well, i suppose technically you could include any Lemmings game, i mean it may be popular but i can't think of many games like them, if any at all.

Well, after all this time, I'm continuing this run. I just have one query... Damage or No Damage. Damage does save a lot of time (saved 54 frames on the first two screens) from not having to wait but it still doesn't feel right to me to do a damage run for some reason, although it will eleviate a lot of stress. What do you guys think? I'll post examples of both in a moment, once i figure out my password for my website to upload them. Edit: You can get them at my site http://www.freewebs.com/gamemoviefiles on the genesis page.

Or if you can't hex edit, use the input display and copy it frame-by-frame :P.

Yeah, you start jump slashing the wall, and it ends shortly afterwards. No big deal, I hope. Well, I started playback from a savestate (my own, which was created right when you hop the gerudo fence), so that could be a source of a problem. I don't have time to play it from the beginning, so can someone else confrim? I gotta go to work now.
I did load from a save state, but from the beginning of the spirit temple. I'll run it again and see if i get no desync. [Space Reserved for Edit]

How could you get a good recording of an NDS while playing? Is there any video out for it yet or something?
