Would it be possible to use the pausing only to affect the victory sequence? If so, that is the only place I suggest it be used. Using it in the middle of a battle detracts from the entertainment value for me. Maybe use it for a couple of frames at a time if it will allow you to gain an advantage, but don't just spam it.

Yes vote. My favorite part was the haunted-type music playing while the castle was transformed back into Mario's castle. I KNEW Wario was the good guy this whole time!

Minor work is still being done, as I'm still getting requests for Lua scripts to be made. I just don't think there will be much progress for a while. If anyone does decide to pick it up for whatever reason and needs the scripts, PM me. The code isn't exactly good quality, but it gets the job done. Also, if you do Lua and want the scripts because you can do a better job, also PM me. More efficient scripts should save time in making the TAS.

Try the StringTokenizer class. http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/StringTokenizer.html Read your text file in line by line, tokenize on your separator, act on the data. For storing the data, you could try using an ArrayList. http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/api/java/util/ArrayList.html

I also noticed this. I think on the corners it's faster to just take the wider movement due to running, because turning in this game is pretty slow (you can only do 180-degree turns quickly). If you're talking about the acid rounds Barry gives you when you reach the upper level from that one door on the right side of the entry room, you can't avoid them to my knowledge. Also, you miss a second swing later in the fight. If possible, could you save that first-aid spray you used near the beginning for here when you're in Danger status? I think you move slightly slower while in Danger. I think your movement here near the end of the run is better than your movement at the beginning of the run. You take the corners a lot better here. Also, I agree with the others that a non-knife only run would be better.

I'm not dead! Apologies for not having any updates in over 6 months. My coursework simply took up the majority of my time last semester, leaving me no time to work on the TAS. My workload is significantly lighter this semester (with the exception of one class), so expect an update soon.

Several bugs fixed (my files didn't save before uploading yesterday for some reason). All scripts should now pause after they finish. Download links are same as above. As for the scripts, it's just like the brute force bot I wrote except automated. Wait a certain amount of frames, hit a button, check a memory address, and repeat until the desired result is achieved. Edit: Changed the scripts around a bit. Now each one has a value, iterations_before_resave. Every X iterations, the state will resave with the current state (after waiting). If all goes well, it should be a LOT faster since it won't be waiting as long for each iteration.

I wrote a few scripts. Unfortunately, PCSX crashes when I enter a battle in FF7 for me (probably an error in my settings). These have NOT been tested, but I'm hoping other people here can test them and improve on them. I don't think that's legal here. I'm pretty certain that's like a crooked cart trick for the n64, which isn't allowed here either. antd, if you need help with Lua scripting I'll try to learn it and help out.
