Í was entertained. I had never seen the game before and it was presented to me fully, in optimal time! This movie is definitely entertaining and useful, unless you don't care about the phenomena called "video games" in general. For me, this TAS is more entertaining than Mona Lisa. Less ambiguous too.

BizHawk seems to use two types of autofire.
Autofire patterns work, if I use separate hotkeys for each button (config --> controllers).
The patterns do not work, if I use the "hold autofire" hotkey (config --> hotkeys).

How about publishing both runs and allowing future publications of similar kind, ONLY IF the frame difference between the endings is equal to that of Magician Lord. This way we would only get a few extreme/notable cases published. It would also be an easy rule to follow: The extended input must shorten the AVI by at least 3 minutes, otherwise it is rejected.

Good work, guys! I'm loving BizHawk, although the autofire hotkey is clumsy, because it does not track each button separately. It is not possible to make useful autofire patterns with it.

Publish both.
Case closed.
In the future, allow "alternate ending" or "premature endingculation" or "God dropped the controller" or similar branch for games that have significantly different ways to end input. The slower input would go to the vault by default.

That is correct. Just let me know what games should be removed or moved to another category and I will edit the page.
The point of the lists is to answer a simple question in a well organized manner: What games have not yet been TASed for system X?
There is no easily accessible answer to this question anywhere. That is why the lists are useful.
This is science, bros.

Thank you, niamek. The list is still not sorted out, so all comments like that are appreciated.
So, do you (niamek & arandomgameTASer) think the sports tab should be removed completely? I think having the sports games listed would do no harm, because they would be in their own tab, so the list would not be cluttered by them too badly. But ofcourse, if you are certain that those games are absolutely horrendous for TASing, then I don't mind removing all of them.

Silence! The KTHULHU is now activating the triangular portal!
Activate Jazz Jackrabbit cheatcode: DOOMSequence 1/3 completed.Bu-ha-ha-haa...
Activate DOOM cheatcode: IDSPISPOPDSequence 2/3 completed.Bu-ha-ha-haa...
Activating Amazin' SPISPOPD cheatcode...
What the...?
No. No way...
THIS CANNOT BE!
Everything is ruined...
If only Amazin' SPISPOPD had had the cheatcode "JAZZJACKRABBIT" as planned (instead of #$@&%ng "JAMULDOOM"), then the triangular circle would have been completed, the portal would have opened between the meta-dimensions of intervideogamespace... And we, The Old Ones, would have entered your realm... Danm these clumsyLovecraftian typewritters of hel, we almsot suceedead! Who is responsible for this #$@&%ng "JAMULDOOM"??? HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I SAID: KTHULHU NEEDS BIGGER KEYBOARD, SO THAT THE TENTACLES WON'T STICK ONTO MULTIPLE KEYS SIMULATENOUSLY! BUT NO, ALL YOU WANT IS BIGGER LEATHER WINGS AND HORNS AND TENTACLES! HOW DO YOU THINK WE CAN HACK THE WORLDZ WITH #$@&%ng TENTACLES???

I am now going to do this treatment for some systems: http://tasvideos.org/ListOfIdeas/GBA.html
I'm sure somebody will think of a useful way to use the lists someday.
Next up, I'm doing lists for these three systems:
--> SMS/GG Done. Sequence 1/3 completed.
--> PCE/Turbografx. Done. Sequence 2/3 completed.
--> SNES. Done. Sequence 3/3 completed.
Chime in, if you think this is a bad idea in general, or if you have any suggestions.
(By the way, if you didn't know, Notepad++ is a very good tool for editing long lists like these. You can easily add/remove letters in each line for example. Note to self: You need to use double brackets [[]] to remove brackets.)

Magician Lord could use a star: http://tasvideos.org/2632M.html
Good pacing, many nice tricks, easy to follow, looks optimized, nice music, nice graphics, funny cutscenes, unconventional ending. The input is also 71% shorter than average.

Absolutely fantastic TAS.
This is my favorite TAS of all time.
The miniboss refight scene is possibly the fastest of its kind in TASVideos history, am I right?
This run also presents a very rare phenomenon: The stage introduction screen music can be characterised as grindcore. I bet fewer than 1 in 10 000 games have grindcore in their genre repertory. The game is from 1990, which makes it even more impressive.

Hi,
this is my first BizHawk recording: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/15667512777988249
EDIT: NEW WIP
I would appreciate if somebody checked the file for possible desynchs before I make a more optimized run.
Emulator: BizHawk-1.6.1
System: PC Engine
Game: Monster Pro Wrestling (J)
Time: ~27 minutes
This is a full testrun, not a final TAS.
All feedback welcome.

In this circumstances, when is it OK to stop optimizing?
Here are some possible answers:
1. Whenever you feel like it. If you feel bad, stop. If you feel good about what you're doing, don't stop.
2. You should stop when you have a crystal clear mental image of what the optimal result would look like. Then just cherish the idea in your head and move on to other things. (This will save lots of work, but will leave the audience disappointed.)
3. The amount of work required for each additional frame saved will increase exponentially. In some sense the cost of optimization will approach infinity while the number of frames saved will approach zero, so stopping at any point can be a rational choice.
4. Never.

MY MOVIE WILL BE REJECTED AGAIN!
Not necessarily. There are already 7 yes-votes, so people really liked what you've done here. You should be happy about that.
I SPENT 16 DAYS MAKING IT!
Some people have spent months or even a year making a single TAS. Sometimes hard work gets rejected soon after publication. That is why it is important that you enjoy the TAS creation process itself. If you only aim to get a movie published at TASVideos, you will be disappointed. It takes a lot of effort and time to make a good TAS movie, so if you keep doing it, you had better enjoy it.
Why don't you give any chance to beginners?
Everyone is given a chance. I do agree that the quality control is too harsh for beginners here. If you had done this run in the early days of the site, it would have been amazing, because TAS movies were a novel thing, but the regular users here have seen pretty much everything already, so they are not easily impressed. Getting a couple of yes-votes is actually a pretty good achievement!
