It goes up by 1 subpixel (1/16 of a pixel) per frame on most frames. I don't know the specifics (sure someone that does TAS Mario could explain better than I can), but every 6-8 frames or so the speed doesn't go up for one frame, making the effective acceleration about 1/18px per frame. If you have FCEUX, save the lua script posted earlier to a text file and run it through the File > Lua menu, then you can use the frame advance function to track the values.

Yeah, you're right; there's exactly 2500 (1 to 4 and A to Y for each with 25 in each group - 4*25*25 = 2500). Still not doing it... XD Anyway, I'll at least have a try at Stage Challenge, probably once I finish Normal mode on Puzzle. Edit: Bleh, I'll have to redo the 10 or so levels I already have done - I just realized that diagonal arrow movements take half the time that horizontal then vertical ones do - knocks nearly half a second off the time for Stage Challenge A1 >_> Speaking of the Stage Challenges, the D missions (100 Mice) should be fun to try and optimize, though E (Cat Soccer) and the Final Battle will likely be real bitches due to AI. -_- As you can probably guess, I have no experience at all in manipulating AI. Edit 2: Okeys, here's my notes on frames and whatnot. I have a bad habit of accidentally deleting, corrupting or losing my stuff >_>
Set Timings: 00442 Start/A on language select 00760 Start on Sonic Team logo 00823 Start on title screen 00827 First action on main menu Menus: Diagonals don't work on menus Directions and button presses can be immediately after one another (with the exception of repeat presses obviously - these require an emtpy frame) Timings: First action on stage select: 3 frames after Start/A on main menu First action (make stage title disappear) after stage select: press A 3 frames after Start/A on stage select First in-game command (Puzzle): 2 frames after stage title command First in-game command (Stage Challenge): 107 frames after stage title command First action on level completion: Start/A 3 frames before message appears. First action (stage title again) after completion: press A 4 frames afterwards In-game: Diagonals work (and are faster) for arrow movements A inserts UP, B inserts DOWN Pressing either button on an existing arrow swaps it clockwise * 9 frames between arrow movements 5 frames after arrow movement, can place arrow Second button press for arrow placement must be 2 frames (i.e. 1 empty) after first Press R to start mice immediately after last arrow placement (Puzzle) Press R 2 frames later to speed them up (Puzzle) * It's more hassle to change it to Pro mode for Stage Challenge (triggers insert Left and Right) since it doesn't waste any time using two button presses anyway. It takes about 12 more button presses to change it, not to mention the time wasted loading screens and saving the new options... Yeah, I know, far from the best game to make a TA speedrun with. I'm using this mainly to get used to organising a project since it's my first go at this, but assuming I complete it I'll still be submitting it. You never know, it might end up being interesting anyway. Anyhow, this is going to be a speedrun of the 100 original 1P Puzzle levels in CCR (1000 user-created levels... no thanks >_>). What I'm aiming for is to get a technically perfect overall time, give or take a few frames. Whether I add the Stage Challenges or not is something I'll decide when I come to it, as the Stage Challenges are a harder deal than the Puzzle levels (you big pussy, B'man...). But, to bidness. The point of my posting this now and not later (don't you just hate it when people promise something and have nothing to show?), is that I had a bit of a problem with the start. When recording or playing a movie, the game prompts to select a language. When not, it doesn't. Now, I'm pretty sure this is just because it doesn't use VBAs main save for the game, but all the same it'd be cool if one of you guys could test this out for me and verify it doesn't desync: http://www.w00ty.com/bman-chuchu%20-%20001.vbm ROM is "Chu Chu Rocket! (U)" (GBA ROM #0036).
