Well, the chest in Grate Guy's Casino is an improvised slot machine, and Kamek specifically tells you that the chest he creates is infinite, so I think those aren't a big deal.

I've owned a SanDisk Cruzer Micro 512mb drive, which got lost, but worked flawlessly while I still had it. I also owned a PNY Attache 1gb drive, which decoupled itself from its' casing, then stopped working entirely a few weeks later. My current flash drive is a SanDisk Cruzer 4gb drive, which I've had no issues with since getting it.

I'll go ahead and toss another Yes vote on the pile, because there was plenty of stuff that we didn't get to see in the SNES version, or in the run of Trilogy on the N64 (which is much the same engine.) I don't think this should obsolete the SNES movie, because (as I said) the two movies are completely different in what they bring to the table. (Although I will be the first to admit that there IS precedent for obsoletion. Specifically, see when p4wn3r's Pokemon Red run, using the door glitch, obsoleted primordial#soup's Pokemon Blue run which didn't use the door glitch.

I watched about half of this, and while it was enjoyable, it did get boring, which is why I didn't watch the whole thing. I think this is just too long for what it offers. Since I didn't finish it, I won't vote.

Why do you need a "score plan?" Is it to do with the theory on the tricks page about the score causing random lag?

I got a reasonable amount of enjoyment out of this. Considering Mario's slow movement speed, doing something to spice things up would be nice. Hit as many question blocks as you can, break as many breakable blocks as you can, kill enemies you don't strictly need to (where it doesn't waste time of course) and so on. I'll give this a weak Yes, and hope along with Nach for an improvement.

The best way to avoid that would be to have "Does not enter level geometry" as a goal. Nothing ambiguous about that, though laymen might need it explained.

I remember in ZSNES netplay, loading a state on one computer would automatically send it to the other computer and load it there too.

I did get a reasonable amount of enjoyment out of this, but I think hopper's right.

Actually, Dessy...

He had already hurt him a lot with PB combos and missiles, so he didn't have much HP at the end. The shinespark itself didn't actually do too much damage, but there were some PB combo projectiles that trailed behind just after he hit draygon with the shinespark that killed him (this is necessary, as killing him with the shinespark itself would break the shinespark before reaching the ledge).

I think the only spot on the way to Ridley this route would need "extra energy" would be the lava lake before the Lower Norfair elevator; if that can be managed with three tanks and the Varia Suit, then that's all you need from a speed perspective. From an entertainment perspective, however, I would say to go for the extra tanks and do the stand-up glitch because I love that glitch.

This happens automatically though. (don't know if it's faster/slower)
Considering when the R-Tank was being manually used, it was probably faster. You can't Crystal Flash if there's any energy in reserve, and if your R-Tank auto-fills during gameplay, and you're in a heated area, your health will still be being drained while the R-Tank is refilling you. On the run: Holy mother, this was AWESOME. How exactly did you manage to kill Draygon and get to the door with only one spark? It looked to me like you did it by grazing him.

I don't recall any custom ASM
Well, quite a bit actually. Stuff was copied out of Super Mario All-Stars, such as Mouser. There's the Koopa with a bomb on its back from Super Mario Land. The special world is filled with all kinds of enemies that act really different than they normally do.
Oh, the enemy types and behavior is done with the ASM? Didn't know that. Learn something new every day. I think I'd agree that if we can only have one TSRPR run it should be the 100%, but that's no reason to reject this now, since the 100% is both A. not done, and B. on hold. I'd say to accept this for now, and when/if bahamete finishes the 100%, it can obsolete this.

You also said that the "fancy stuff" was excluded in the remake. The sprites, backgrouds, and music were all updated in Reloaded. I don't recall any custom ASM, but I haven't played it in a while, just watched this TAS.

Even if it's not up to the standards of the currently-published SMW/SDW runs, it stands on its' own quite well, and I don't think the lesser degree of optimization is severe enough for laypeople to catch on. Don't forget, TASVideos is as much about entertainment as it is about speed, and this is definitely entertaining.

I watched this back when he finished it and posted it in the SNES forum. This is a hell of a TAS of a hell of a hack. Yes vote for sure.

I have to agree. It'll get the run more publicity, and as a wise man once said, "You won't know unless you try." To be fair, there's also something to be said for "Don't ask the question if you fear the answer," but I don't think that's relevant to something like a TAS.

This was a bit slow-paced for my taste. My suggestion for an updated run would be to show off every character in 2-player fights to start, then do the story mode with Twelve.

I think this deserves a mention in one of the SM64 publications, because it's (objectively) different from what we have, and (subjectively) quite funny. I would say to mention it in the 0-star, saying something like, "most of the skips that BLJing permits to create a 0-star run can also be done with hyper-speed wall kicking; here is a run which does so."

This movie was enjoyable enough. A little bit boring at times, mostly when you didn't have a speed power-up, but not enough to keep me from voting Yes.
