I remember when I was doing my playthrough of Kamek's Revenge, I didn't get 100 on ANY levels, despite trying. Hell, for a few, I had to refer to raocow's Let's Play to figure out what the hell I had to do.

That hasn't been the case for a while; the hack is simply judged along with the submitted run now.

Does anyone still have the Lua script to remove the Hyper Sonic flashes and fast-forward the emerald collection? I lost it when my old computer fried.

"Minimize Overworld Time" has been proposed as a goal, which I think is perfect. It allows some flexibility to get extra goal spheres when you'd be backtracking anyway, like when you warp back to Yoshi's Island after clearing the Special Zone.

It's not quite as funny, because it doesn't show you the actual answer like the Family Feud TAS does. If you submit this, I'd include subtitles in the .fm2 to indicate what they are.

Fan translations are not allowed, although I'm sure if you took extra time to make sure your movie synced on both the (J) [!] ROM and a fan translation, nobody would complain.

The checksum/CRC32 wouldn't match (obviously) but as long as nothing changed besides the addition of 5-E, I see no reason you'd have a problem switching to a new version.

For the encodes, you could patch the volume to a pre-set level with an Action Replay code, maybe? I believe this was done with Deign's FF2US run.

I believe that's the ONLY revisit required. I too would prefer to have the music at full volume.

I remember glitching myself into 6-E, and after 12 rooms, I got dumped to the sky (like when you level glitch vanilla YI) every time.

I am supremely disappointed at a rematch of a Super Bowl from only five years ago. That said, Tom Brady is an arrogant jackass. Therefore, fuck the Patriots, go Giants!

Boo always matches the speed of your last run trough the level. This run starts from clean You Vs. Boo data.

I said this on the forum a while back, but looks like no one heard; I've tested it on Snes9x 1.52 and it plays your movie perfectly, with no graphical error!
When I tried v1.52 (SVN184) it desynced in Cyclops 1. What version do you have?

Technically, I suggested it last year, but it didn't gain any traction.

That's a problem with the emulator. Turn off layer 3.

I did some minor testing in preparation for a Left+Right glitched run, and the best solution I found to get the necessary coins to warp to 6-8 via the glitch was to play all the way through 1-1 and 1-2. For what that's worth.

Late yes vote for an excellent run. Question for you, HappyLee: Why do you TAS with FCEU and then convert to FM2 instead of just using FCEUX?

Yes vote from me as well. I really liked the differences between this and vanilla SMB, and you dealt with the toggle blocks very well.

I'll agree with bkDJ's "Minimize overworld time" goal, which would leave you the option to occasionally get an extra goal sphere from a level you already cleared, like (as mentioned) when you warp back to Yoshi's Island after clearing the Special Zone.

There is a precedent for allow this in, [303] NES Metal Storm by TheAxeMan in 12:54.23. May not be entirely comparable, because it's a single game, and it's not using previous save data, it's using a password. Personally, I am of the opinion that the only case where previous save data should be used is a case like the aforementioned .hack series, where the games don't quite stand on their own, but each one connects to the next.
