I'd really rather not encourage people to break our rules.
How was I advocating rule-breaking there? All I said was that it would be nice if this could be acknowledged.

Userfiles is for anything you feel like uploading related to the site. Seeing your confusion at the fact that it's labeled as it is on the front page, I wonder if changing that label might be a good idea. Anyway, the TAS. To me, it doesn't last long enough to feel repetitive. Seeing the way the enemies are set up to be taken down with maximum efficiency is fun for me.

Okeydokey, thanks for taking the time to explain that. As for the movie, loved the three revamped fights, and the original movie was also just fine. Vote: Yes.

I was curious about the first submission too: What exactly makes Tyris the best choice here? I thought her gimmick was that she had the weakest physical attacks but the best magic potential, and since you don't get magic in The Duel...

Skipping World 6 by having a specific powerup at the end of World 5 is not "Warpless" to me. Not voting.

I think the Monster Rancher games are an interesting case for us, since you can scan pretty much any CD in existence to get a monster from it. I haven't played any of the Monster Rancher games, so I don't know how they work aside from the aforementioned CD scanning, but can you catch monsters within the game itself?

Something about this was really entertaining to me. Voting yes and hoping this goes to Moons.

I was entertained by this, but honestly I'd rather have DrD2k9's run in the Vault and a new run that actually plays the minigames as a Moon contender.

Loving that glitchless! I always felt like SprintGod's first run should never have been obsoleted, cause the second one abused vertical screen wrapping, and then nitsuja came along and straight-up murdered the game.

He did. There is a new encode in the submission which is all 38 e-reader levels played on an extracted copy of the WiiU-VC ROM. That's why he un-cancelled the submission.

I was under the impression that what you just said is exactly what the standard Up+A trick is in Metroid.

AFAIK nope. I've asked it during NES Metroid. edit2: Post here Don't know the underlying rule though but something like "passwords only used to unlock harder difficulties".
What you seem to be wanting to do with that post is to reset after beating Kraid but before you can Up+A warp, and resume the game with a password the game hasn't actually given you yet. Do I have that right?

In all honesty, I’d love it too, too bad the game is so broken that sometimes those zips happen to you even when playing casually.
Is the version 3.0 Genesis release any better in that regard?

As far as I'm concerned, this is plenty entertaining enough for Moons. Yes vote.

Something is very wrong with the encode. Most of the time there is no sound. If I advance/rewind about 10 seconds, the sound comes on for about a second and a half, then disappears again.

dwangoAC has actually tried to verify it on a Analogue SuperNT reproduction console. I don't know if he succeeded yet. Check out his Twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/dwangoac

Here's my submission text for Hyper Princess Pitch.
Daniel Remar likes making freeware games. Most of them include an impossibly hard joke difficulty, "ReallyJoel's Dad," named for a meme involving one of his collaborators/playtesters. In his game Hyper Princess Pitch, which he likens to the DOS classic Operation: Carnage, this difficulty is instead called "ReallyJoel's Mom" and it multiplies enemy spawn rates by at least an order of magnitude, removes all power-ups, dramatically increases the firing rate of enemies that shoot, and allows more enemies to shoot. A real-time player would be lucky to clear one room of this. But thanks to tool-assisted precision, Tseralith clears the whole game without even taking damage!

New post because new content: I redownloaded Hyper Princess Pitch 1.3 from this (unofficial) mirror and was able to sync it on my Windows 10 x64 laptop using Hourglass r81, after Windows installed the DirectPlay component. Here are my sync settings: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mrikn3d6bfh11jo/Screenshot%202018-03-10%2008.16.28.png?dl=0 Windows Defender didn't throw a fit about viruses or anything from the mirror, so I would guess it's okay.

I'm still convinced that [2529] Windows Hyper Princess Pitch "Reallyjoel's Mom difficulty, best ending" by Tseralith in 15:40.48 would be a great showcase for any given GDQ, and because why not I sent Daniel Remar a tweet asking about an official mirror of v1.3 since it's a freeware game. Probably won't get a reply in time for SGDQ 2018, but maybe AGDQ 2019.

I wouldn't mind seeing it repeated. It could be a good way to show "Hey, look how far we've come with emulation accuracy!"

Game-specific rerecording frameworks on PC? I agree that'd be awesome if DevilSquirrel is willing to let us present his work or would be amenable to going to SGDQ to help present.
