Looked good, if a bit plain I was wondering the whole time, why did you pick Mickey? If memory serves, the only difference between the pilots is the recovery time after taking damage (Greg>Mickey>Shin) and how fast the Vulcan upgrades (Shin>Mickey>Greg). Since you don't take any damage, wouldn't it have made more sense to pick Shin for faster Vulcan upgrading?

Yeah, there's no rush. I'm looking forward to the end result, but I'm a patient man. I can wait. :)

Everything is OK with Sega Saturn core? BIOS of USA 1.00 is compatible with all other BIOSes (Eu and Jap). I remember it wasn't in earlier versions. Which SS ROM formats are compatible with Bizhawk? I'm trying to play .mdf and .mds, but emulator says "This Rom was not found in the database. ...". After I choose Sega Saturn, I get the following error: where "Данный ключ отсутствует в словаре" means something like "The following key is absent at the dictionary"
If memory serves, the MDF/MDS disc image specification is proprietary to Alcohol Soft, not open-source, so support for it cannot be implemented.

Additionally, Master level cannot be achieved in a TAS...unless you want to supply everyone with "Save State" information. This is simply not possible with a "Fresh" rom for everybody to run the inputs against. I'm also sure that nobody would care to watch a TAS where you run through all levels to get Master status so that it can run through them again. The TAS would be extremely long and ridiculous, IMO.
The applicable rule here is to create a "verification" movie which upon ending creates the proper conditions for the savestate anchor or SRAM to start the actual TAS from. http://tasvideos.org/MovieRules.html#WeDoNotAllowSaveAnchoredMovies

It makes me irrationally happy that your murdering spree was enough to push the average point total per world back over 100,000; I had thought that was a dead dream once the flagpole glitch was found. My OCD aside, wonderful job. Yes vote.

Next question: Why does this run still only have a 240p unlisted encode on Nahoc's channel?

Actually, according to the Movie Rules, that sort of time gain is NOT considered to be "faster" because it is not an improvement to the gameplay.

Figure it out empirically. Just run the numbers on how long it takes to power up to Fire Mario compared to how much time it saves per Bowser fight.

On the first ROM I found, md5sum B4E90B95A3E18F2BD79BBECF5009A28B, you desync at the beginning of 1-2. This might be a dealbreaker; I don't remember what the site rules are on using alternate dumps. Anyway, watching now.

The "improvement" you just submitted to the usefiles shows the same length as this submission. Did you upload the wrong file, or did a judge already replace it?

It wasn't. See my post.
Let me rephrase, then. I think bortreb's movie was the one to really introduce the concept of ACE to the community.

I thought it was well-done and reasonably entertaining. I would give it a weak Yes.

I'm going to kindly point to this movie rule:
No skipping to the end with a password The point is to beat the full game, skipping major sections of the game with a password defeats the purpose. Exceptions may be granted under special considerations (such as the game being too long and repetitive); consult with a judge first.
A full-game Punch-Out TAS looking to KO Mike Tyson would literally be exactly the same as the any% for 16 minutes out of maybe 20. There would be way too much content overlap to publish both. I would also like to counterpoint with [1290] NES Dr. Mario by CtrlAltDestroy in 01:12.83 which was enthusiastically accepted. The method of skipping is functionally no different to me.

From what I can see of that, it looks like the Act 2 boss is being skipped in the same way as the Act 1 boss: the camera is positioned so that the camera passes under the spawn trigger for the Robobotnik fight.

Not that I don't like Windows XP, but it hasn't been supported in years. Why not upgrade to 7?

999 was a ton of fun for me. Not sure how the Vita/PS4/PC port in Zero Escape: The Nonary Games is.

15 stages are played, ending input at the first appearance of Rio Trio and gameovering there.

There are 16 tracks in the game each with 4 permutations for a total of 64 total tracks. (Forward/Backward and Forward/Backward with hay bales.) The reason I didn't go with 64 tracks was because you will start to see duplicates before you reach the 64th level. I forget the exact number, but you won't see the final "original" track until 70-something levels have passed.
Do you know at what point the final unique (named) track appears? I think that would be a good stopping point for a 100% run, while I would agree with your rationale of "99 Nitros, Max Upgrades" for any%.
