It is spelled Gyrus... but yeah, there doesn't seem to be any mention. But it being a space shooter, I don't think it's a very good game to TAS. Much like Zanac.

INTP: 56% Introverted, as opposed to Extroverted, 12% iNtuitive, as opposed to Sensing, 12% Thinking, as opposed to Feeling, 22% Perceiving, as opposed to Judging. Same results, same test as listed on http://tasvideos.org/Bisqwit.html since 2004-08-16… In adjectives, according to [1], intimate abstract logical open-ended. As a title, "architect" ― but because of low N and T, it parallers ISFP ("composers"), INFP ("idealists" or "healers") and ISTP ("crafters").

The bust of least useful / most misleading topic (thread title) of day goes to… Hint: What game? What console? Why is it in General forum? Is the use of glitches in TASes in general being questioned? What? Where? Why?

I think those are good guidelines apart from number 4... I don't know what you mean about "Something that may be later utilized in non-April Fools productions.".
It means I do not want to waste perfectly good creative effort.

I had another in mind recently but unfortunately forgot it before a new opportunity to post a test post presented itself, like it did now.

From site maintenance perspective, I wish to follow these guidelines at April Fools pranks: ― Once you realize that it is an April Fools joke, it has to be funny. ― It must not cause feelings of desperation or insult. For example, joking that the site is shut down permanently, is something I would never do. ― It has to tempt believing that it is true, however minorly. ― It has to contain a seedling for future. Something that makes it worth reviewing in future. Something that may be later utilized in non-April Fools productions. ― If you want to try something radically different and novel, April Fools day is the day. These guidelines are mainly inspired by my observations of Google's April Fools pranks.

Emulator working at a "decent speed" is not an issue. We make movies here frame by frame, or at a slow speed in any case. When the movie is published, we make an AVI of it, and that AVI will play at normal, console speed regardless of the speed of the computer it was created on.

Green is also given when you solve the problem but don't use enough cubes. (There are two puzzles where that can apply.) Yellow indicates you used precisely the requested number. (Yes, I've solved them.)

I see Truncated edited the Guidelines page. I now see that the concept of "pride movie" was actually entered by someone else there -- it was not my text. My wording was:
Original guidelines wrote:
Play for entertainment, not for ego. * We want movies that are entertaining to watch! We don't want people whose sole priority is to get their name/work in the list.
I hope this clears the question the original poster had.

He's right! With warps mario 1 is 5 minutes, mario 2 is 7 minutes and mario 3 is 10 minutes.
That's not what I meant but, yeah, good point :)

mmbossman, so you're saying, because you think this movie cannot be made more entertaining, so nobody should even try?

Speed is not the only thing we measure here. Phil has every right to attempt to beat this movie. Nothing changes that. Also, this is such a short movie at only 1 minute that there's not even an issue of lost effort to consider.

I made my own copy / version of the Portrait Illustration Maker so that I don't need to bother AbiRin with my traffic. :) http://bisqwit.iki.fi/jsgames/avatargenerator/ Note: Requires that referrer blocking is not used. Note 2: It uses the same stylesheet and javascript base as TASvideos does. If you're having problems with the tabs on TASvideos, probably those problems show on this site as well.

Buy me one too. I did not understand what you meant by "good burn on Phil". (And, why you're picking on him in the first place.)

It's a side-effect of good-intending code that enables one useful feature.
