I think we found the solution. Thanks to all testers. Solution: Don't uncheck "Disable HTML in this post" unless you actually need to type HTML tags. ... because of this, I changed all user profiles to disable HTML by default.

Shouldn't there be a note about this in Forum announcements?
I guess there should, but I was kind-of hoping to see feedback while keeping the change low-profile.

Request denied. I don't want to be in the position as to explain to someone (who isn't familiar with the expression) what the "WTF" in the name means, and then explain what does "fuck" have to do with the site content.

Sorry, I badly worded the question. How do you run .GEN on a movie player e.g. Divx or Media Player.
You don't. You load it in the emulator. There is no video or audio content in the GMV file. The GMV file only contains a sequence of input to the game controller (joypad(s)). The video and audio content comes from the ROM (the game itself), which can only be handled by the emulator. (I assume you meant GMV when you said GEN.)

Did you try the FAQ? Because your question is answered at http://tasvideos.org/GMV.html, which is linked from the FAQ. Also, next time you post a question, please indicate the subject of the question in the topic title. "Sorry to be asking this" does not describe what your problem is about. "How to play a GMV file?" would describe it very well. This is common netiquette. (Reference: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#bespecific)

It's also better to not add the exact place. The maps are publicly available, and you might not want to publish your home address in the Internet.

I took the liberty of copying Samurai Goroh's walkthrough to this page: http://tasvideos.org/SamuraiGoroh/FFVWalkthruPlan.html Also, abiding the "A conscientious writer spends time to reduce the readers' efforts instead of avoiding writer's work." guideline, I edited it a little. I recommend Samurai Goroh to change the links to point to that article, and edit it in that location in advance. That way, changes to the article are seen at Recent Changes, and others can contribute too. For those who can edit (including Samurai Goroh), please read these pages before starting: - http://tasvideos.org/EditorGuidelines.html - http://tasvideos.org/TextFormattingRules.html

You know, there is a difference between off-topic and BS. This forum is for off-topic.

I'm sorry to have offended you. What your first post made me believe is that you're saying "I see something happening that can't happen in this game, is this movie fraud?" Upon that interpretation of your post, I replied. And I still can't interpret that post in any other way... Ps: Flaws are part of the games.

Nowhere in my post I said anything about "encoding issues." Perhaps, please read my post again and this time try to understand what I wrote, instead of seeing me write "AVI" and you guessing the rest.

> Watch the video carefully, Easier said than done :) > there's a part where a piece should end this game but doesn't; leaving a 3 block piece in play. While waiting for the author of the movie to explain why what you perceived, happens, please be reconfirmed that this is actually how the game reacted to the input the player submitted. The submission from the player is not a multimedia video file, but a recording which describes the input to feed to the game. The AVI you probably watched, is the result of the game reacting to that input, with no possible video editing taking place. All of this is of course explained at our Why And How page, which you undoubtedly have already read as prompted by the movies page, haven't you?
