coincidently in Greek "s' agopo" means "I love you".
Not that it contradicts with what you said, but the Greek word "agape" also means love. Though not your garden commodity of love that leads a couple to the bed, but the self-sacrificial love that makes one care about the others without asking for something in return. I just thought you might be confusing with this word.

Admins: Why Don't you make an image gallery of Gaming Related avatars & emotions
As for emoticons: Because I don't feel like encouraging people to spam the board with images, especially emoticons. As for avatars: I like people to have unique avatars, that can be uniquely associated with themselves. The same as for nicknames. Having a gallery of avatars for picking contradicts with that idea.

Finland is one of the most beautiful places in the world in summer.
Except when it's raining heavily for a week straight, of course. But sunny days, it's beautiful ― assuming you don't spend it in the middle of most motorvehicle-infested areas.

Hey, good point. I can't believe I forgot about it. OTOH, I only slept about 4 hours last night...

Perhaps someone hacked his forum account and is impersonating him. (You know, that kind of things can happen if you have a weak password like "00000"...)

I suppose you have already read the Why And How page, which explains the things about tool-assistance. If you haven't, read it. Otherwise, you may be misunderstanding something very fundamental about these speedruns. The answer: Analytical perspective. Be observative, be careful. Basically, be everything the Guidelines page wishes the players to be. That way you can find things most players will not notice :)

You don't have to use wine. I found a Perl script that someone wrote that can apply IPS's on other operating systems. I can post it if anyone is interested.
http://bisqwit.iki.fi/src/unmakeips.cc -- C++ program to apply an IPS patch. Example usage (to patch Chrono Trigger into Finnish version):
mkdir tmp
cd tmp
cp ../chronotrigger.smc .
wget http://bisqwit.iki.fi/src/unmakeips.cc
g++ -o unmakeips unmakeips.cc
wget bisqwit.iki.fi/ctfin/ctfin-1.14.6.zip

JXQ's SMW now got its star. It robbed the star from the 100% movie, but to compensate, I added a link to the 100% movie in JXQ's movie entry. This should be the most useful solution for the audience (with the currently available tools).

I don't think this would be the best game to gain something out of decompiling anyway. It's too straight-forward.
Not to mention, the SMB code is very spaghettious, with tens of jump tables...

Getting refills should be least of your concern. You've got Bisqwit, yourself and BisqBot for that.
It is a concern, because enemies are scarce (an enemy might be located in zone you would want to zip through instead) and to get a refill, you need some weapon switches.

On to the star debate, let me throw this at you... If stars are "awards" for being something new people should watch, how is that different from Video Game Awards?
They are not awards for the players (even though the players are welcome to take them as such), but a guide for newcomers. The purpose is to increase the chances that the first movie watched by someone will actually make them go "WOW!". I have lately been too busy to actively participate in this (or many other) discussion, which is why I haven't taken a decisive stance on this question yet.

Here's something I just thought of. I was under the impression that a game's popularity was also a determining factor. Is this true?
Yes, I'd be lying if it weren't. Whether it's a result of the other aspects I already listed, is debatable.

It's going to be tough choice deciding which one to publish. Maybe both?

Nice initiative Bisqwit. I hope you will give some consideration to my request/wish of you participating in the discussion, perhaps both in general and in the case of specific movies/disagreements. After all, you're the only person who matters in this discussion and without you we can talk ourselves to death without knowing if it's making any difference.
I have posted the general guidelines / aims regarding the movie stars in the first post of this thread. As for the actual decisions, I will usually make changes if enough people raise noise about it and I happen to agree. The green turquoise star is granted for movies that are not going to be permanently starred, but are supposed to stand out in the list of recently published movies.

/me reminds everyone that… oh well, I'll just move the posts to the right thread. Edit: The most recent discussion in this thread comes from JXQ's SMW movie thread.
