Yes, it does. Knowing that, I don't see it as a problem. It's nice for the startup screen to be visible for more than 1 frame.

I think there was some delay before he pressed start, so that should be fixed.
And if it was to control randomness? The level still starts the same time anyway. Isn't it better if the startup screen is readable for a longer time?

What's the actual rerecord count, then? Also, can you download the VirtuaNES version anywhere?
Yes - it is here: https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/smbTApom.zip I don't know the actual rerecord count. nesmock read it as "0".

Note: The rerecord count is not really "1". This movie was converted from VirtuaNES using nesmock. The improvement (when comparing the moment of axe hit) is 21 frames (the minimal possible unit), and it ends at first possible moment before the axe is hit. Thank you Pom! I reviewed the Zanac movie, and I couldn't decide. But I wanted to express this opinion. There's now also a field "confidence" in the submission list which is affected by the "meh"-votes.

Ummm... What is the "Meh" button for? ;)
When I say "Meh," I mean "whatever" or "nothing special." I am assuming Bisqwit has a similar definition in mind, so voters may say "I don't particularly care about this movie."
Hmm... I actually meant "I can't decide - neither 'yes' or 'no'".
By the way, Bisqwit, if you're reading this, I suggest using a capture of Samus' Shine Sparking attack on Draygon to represent this movie.
Which enemy is Draygon? -kun?? :o

I managed to improve the completion time of 1-2 by 3 frames by using more accuracy at the pipe trick and an alternate technique after that, but unfortunately it has no effect whatsoever to the total completion time. 4-1 starts at the exactly same frame. Evil censorship rule :( https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/philgenisto-smb1-1-2-end-bisqwit.zip

Why you can judge the movie, when you haven't watched the movie...? And which menu switches are not necessary?
Sorry for accusing. I am just worried. :) I can be wrong, but I want to know, if you have optimized the menu access.
But, I said in SuperMetroid-Thread "I can't understand about 'BackSlush-Key's meaning.' " I don't know it ,still now. So, I can't improve menu-speed...
Backslash is 「 \ 」 (not blackslush, slush means 泥濘 ^^;) When snes9x is at pause, press \ to play 1 frame. Press \ again to play 1 frame more. and so on. This way, you can be super precise. If you have \ and it does not work, try ¥ instead.

Also, Bladegash mentioned that a savestate was used again. So actually the 'movie length' in this movie is slower than the currently published version. (But this isn't a reason to reject it, because it is still a more impressive result.)
Where is Mr.Bladegash's comments...? (Is it Private Massage?)
At IRC. http://irc.kyoto-u.ac.jp/whatis.html - we are at irc.enterthegame.com. But the savedata appearance is not a error or problem here. It is ok. Sorry for confusing!

Same thing.

The thing I want to say is really, that "Mr. " and "-san" are not the same, and that you should take the customs where you come. :)
Indeed, "-san" and "mr." are not the same. "mr." is more equal to "-dono". :) Which basically means "In Rome, do as the romans do" (proverb).

Maybe too quickly... I haven't watched the movie yet, but I think not all the menu switches are necessary, and/or they could be played faster. Even if they don't affect the "completion time", the player should aim playing the menu control perfectly. Also, Bladegash mentioned that a savestate was used again. So actually the 'movie length' in this movie is slower than the currently published version. (But this isn't a reason to reject it, because it is still a more impressive result.)

I've noticed that you have to walk into enemies to start an encounter, and them walking into you will just make them go through you. Marle (or whatever you've named her) will do something similar in the beginning.
Actually, if you stand on Marle's way, she'll run _around_ you. It looks somewhat funny if you can position Crono such that Marle will have trouble passing him.

I might be wrong, but I think you don't need to watch the demo that comes when you win the race. Just press some button. At least that worked for me. I don't know what you are referring to by 'dancing'. I'd say this movie is 'very cool', but it's a little obvious to me. But I like it. At the conveyer belt where you had to wait, I think it would been funnier if you had just stood still. The rest of the party will stand still too (or actually, run still) and the robots would have rolled through them. And the screen scrolling fast left and right annoyed me. Same later in the scene where Robo is getting trashed - the useless screen scrolling is annoying.

I updated the Super Mario Bros Tricks page to include the most recent knowledge. I'd hope that also SMW knowledge will be added to that page. The page also needs screenshots. I'll see if I can provide some later today, but it'd be great if someone else can do them.

You only use the fire flower at one place after the forced wait spinning fire. Did you test if it's faster to run through and power down?
I didn't test it. But I believe [edit] the current way is faster, because the completion of the water room was only 1 timeunit slower than previously and the completion of the next room was (that accounting) 3 timeunits faster than previously.

There is one missed shot which I don't see any point in (5:16), and once you shoot the beetles (2:17). Is there a reason for this?
For the missed shots at 5:16 and 5:53: I wanted to show that at least I _tried_ to hit the target. I did a similarly motived jump somewhere. For the beetles: I just wanted to bomb them, even though it was futile.

Because I somehow missed all the negative feedback when I scanned the queue for submissions to process. I can still cancel it.
