That makes the run less entertaining, because it eliminates even more actual gameplay.
But it adds more "WTF" to the final video, which is good, nothing is more entertaining than something that seems to happen out of nowhere.
I think there's too much of it already and that the run is less entertaining. I stand by my opinion. Also, I find Warepire's location text amusing. It seems I live in nowhere.

If you're going to Best Buy, I found this there. Lenovo Thinkpads are durable and they will probably last for those 6-7 years you're thinking of. This one also has pretty good specs and Windows 7 (which is really recommended nowdays, because XP is getting old), so I can recommend it. Thinkpads have also been very Linux friendly.

Hi, RealMyop. I tried to accept your request yesterday, but somekind of an error occured when I clicked "Accept" and when I came back to the "pending requests" page, there weren't any requests. So, sorry about that (if it was my fault) and hopefully you'll be able to join the group.

Mhh isn't it possible to manipulate .deb packages?
I don't know how. I would also appreciate the source code and a 32-bit binary (not a package, just the binary if possible).

When trying to install the package with Debi, it says "Status: Error: Wrong architecture 'amd64'". EDIT: Oh yeah, 64-bit. So I can't test it myself.

The .fc0-9 files are savestates, not movie files. To resume recording at the end of a movie file, make a savestate at the end, then check that the movie file is read+write and load the said savestate.

I was actually serious with my suggestion.

Here's my suggestion for the front page. The bottom two sections are not necessary. Newbie links section should probably have links to Why&How, recommended movies and some other because-you're-a-new-user-you-should-probably-read-these-pages.

Derakon made a good point there. Just because one isn't a player, doesn't mean (s)he doesn't know anything about TASing or is not qualified to vote and/or express their opinion about what ever is going on here on the site. Sticky is a vested member and has been here for at least 3 years, so I think he knows a little something about the site and TASing. And now a little something about the movie: I personally liked the action, though it's not the best game for TASing. I voted yes and I think it's a good addition to the site. Hopefully I'm allowed to express my opinion and not get yelled at :(

Maybe WifeXQ is the wife of all members.

One advantage of fm2 is that the movie file is saved in text format. This means that you can open the movie file in a text editor, such as notepad, and edit the input you've recorded.
This is a major improvement, when compared to .fcm's cryptic compression. Go with .fm2, because FCEUX is a lot better and easier to use than FCEU and the key input file is uncompressed..

So it's still tricky. Oh well, FCEUX runs great on Wine. I'm still interested in your work and I'm supporting this all the way. Linux TASing tools are not nearly as good as on Windows, unless you're a programmer of some sorts.

Does this feature allow changing hotkeys without editing the source and recompiling?

That makes it useful for secretly sharing WIPs. Unless you wipe your history folder on a regular basis then it should be possible to browse through it and recover lost links. I guess you could create a system where you could register on DeHackEd and track your upload/download for you. That way you can have another cookie :-)
We could just use bossymossy's idea and add a "this file is secret, do not show the link to others browsing my WIPs"-option. Also, I liked mmbossman's idea. Hopefully it'll become reality on this site.

Hopefully adelikat's ideas will become reality, it would probably help the site become more popular and consistent. Good luck with everything! I also hope to be more active in the future, like I was in the past. Not sure if that's a good thing for the site or not, but I guess we'll see! PS. I'll try to get you that vodka this year adelikat, I promise!

I honestly don't think audio commentaries are necessary for every single run. Let's take my Elevator Action run as an example: There's just one trick that's used through out the run. Subtitles would be enough to tell how it works. If JXQ would make an audio commentary of my run for entertainment, that might be fun, but not necessary.

I say it like I say tan, but replace the n with an s.
"Taser" is an informal abreviation for "tool-assisted speedrunner" (or "superplayer", if you really want to nitpick), but how do you pronounce it? Like the word "taser", or like TAS" (as you describe) with an "er" attached?
Like TAS with er attached. So it's basically the same as tanner (tasser).
