Okay, the debug code is forbidden as I though. The goal should be reaching a population of 600k (last congratulation message pops up). Without the money trick it just takes a huge amount more time to build up the exactly same layout, which should be more boring than doing it uber fast with the money trick and non-stop building action ;) . While you're scrolling or holding a button the time stops. With frame advance it should be able to build everything on JAN 1901 without pausing or anything, then stop the movie after the last input and just watch the awesomeness by yourself (if your watching it in SNES9x) :) . This should be the main goal: Reaching 600k in the shortest amount of ingame time (months/years) OVER building 95% of the map and just barely reaching 600k in 10 ingame years or something. What do you guys think? Edit2: Wow, thanks for the recording FatRatKnight! Seems like I just don't have the patience anymore to TAS this game :/ . I hope you or anybody else will give it a try.

Recently a debug menu code was published for Sim City where you could rise the land value to max or reclaim all the water:
Debug Menu Load or start a new city, then choose END from the Save/Load menu. When the "See you soon!" screen appears, press the following on controller 2: Left, A, Right, Y, Up, B, Down, X, Select, Start, Start, Select, R, R, L, L. Press Up or Down to scroll through the options, and press Left or Right to toggle them on or off. To activate the selected features, change MEMORY to SET and reset the SNES (they will remain active even if you power off). To deactivate everything, go back into the menu, change MEMORY to CLR, and press B.
Would this be allowed for a TAS? Otherwise I also got a layout to reach a population just over 600,000 on map 061 without zone stacking or gifts (thanks to Gothic_Sara) so it _should_ be possible to built it right after entering the money trick!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfJGlx1H_o8 <-- 348k, his record is 377k . You can freeze the timer by switching your visors, 4min = 10min ;) .

This was done with 0 re-records, on real console: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Zkc7_xQ8bXY Sorry, but your Corneria score is nothing special, even if it would be non-TAS .

I knew someone who can get over 400 on hard mode and over 1000 on easy mode on a real gameboy. A movie to the very possible end would be cool.

Fire Stingray (purple car) is the best choice for every track. Be sure to break at least the current world record ( http://www.mrfixitonline.com/f0/viewladder.php?ladder=1 ) for every track. Study this videos carefully, you need a lot more practise: http://www.mrfixitonline.com/viewtopic.php?t=649 Becoming pro in F-Zero is much harder than it looks.

Hi, can anybody run this game with Mupen? Won't start for me, no matter what plugin I use. I would really like to TAS this game.

I just noticed that the completion time in the beginning of the AVI says 05:22:95 which isn't correct for this TAS ...but the new glitched Castlevania CotM TAS ;) . Not worth doing a new AVI, but it should maybe mentioned in the description.

Unoptimized, repetitive, boring and the game just plain feels slow. Sorry, but even though it was published, I can't get behind this run.
Hm, you must have watched Lamborghini 64 instead of the DKR TAS then... Not optimized but still entertaining to watch for me. Some other published runs are optimized but not entertaining which I dislike more.

If this game becomes playable in Mupen you can count me in to TAS this game to ultimate perfection :D ! Getting plat in every level is easy if you've done that at least once on console.

Of course it is slower. He just pressed the A button (acceleration) for about one second at the beginning of the race ;) .

It works fine with Mupen, the graphics are just a bit screwed sometimes. I did some TASing some time ago, but for me it was getting boring pretty fast :( .

The fact that he beat the WR by 10 seconds is, to me, more impressive than the fact that he lapped the staff ghost (since the staff ghost does not use advanced techniques). But yeah, it is awesome stuff and I look forward to more runs he makes. I just knew this game was massivley TASable.
He beats the WR (1'03) by nearly 5 seconds and some staff ghosts do use sliding, i can't remeber the courses but you can't beat the sg in the same machine without the use of sliding I think. Manipulating some funny and entertaining X-cup tracks could be a good idea too.

Uhm well, where did he miss enemies? He may miss some hit+1 but Vidar's first Corneria run for example wasn't flawless too! His playing style is very entertaining to me, precise and quick movement ...flying all over the screen wouldn't look very skilled in my opinion. ...And at least someone is working on it who also has knowledge about the game!

Nangosan has worked on his SF64 TAS lately, here are his new vids: Corneria - 377 hits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gqrmGWpwAs Aquas - 476 hits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBBwLUY22bo Zoness - 520 hits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FR5TFrLRkMM I am looking forward and I hope more than 3300 hits can be reached with about MacBeth - 300+ hits, Area 6 - 770+ hits and Venom hard - 300+ hits! @comicalflop There are only a few level where a death after the checkpoint results into respawning enemies, every pro uses this technique. Nobody calls it cheating.

Nangosan improved his Sector Y score by more than 50 points and did an amazing 549 hits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HG-5qVw8-Vo He also did 377 hits on Corneria (on expert) as you can see at the start of the video. Let us all hope he will continue with this perfection and do a full high score run.

It's pretty insane by how much you beat the current very strong MK64 WR, nice work. I've done the same for some other N64 games too (not MK64), just for fun. Submitting something like that to this site seems a bit absurd, what if everyone else would submit their single level or track WR broken TAS? There would be at least 120 seperate runs for SM64 for example ;) . It's an impressive TAS nontheless and great work for the MK64 community and I am sure it will make a great YouTube video :D .

Yes vote, of course. In my previous movie I haven't even played with frame advance and this game is just so bad and boring that I don't bother to play it anymore. Well, I am happy that someone allready beat it :D . Your wish was indeed hilarious.

You need to tap A in hover in a certain rythm, not as fast as you can. Hard to explain, just test it yourself. In plane it's just worth sometimes when you reach your normal top speed to tap A for a second or two, since constant boosting and barrel rolling is used throughout the run I think this won't be needed for plane. That A taping works in every vehicle was known for pretty long. About 2 years ago Mitani invented the snaking technique for Hover and I found the barrel rolling tequnique while realesing A technique. I agree that not every lap looks identical, but if xenos does every lap perfect he would be still somewhere in Dino Domain (see current Mario Kart 64 TAS).

So are all the WRs of Yasutaka Mitani, he has video proof of every single record he got. The DKR WRs over at cyberscore are correct, but of course I agree with you that cyberscore sucks ;) .

Your run looks very entertaining to me and your fast progress is insane. Not perfect driving but better than anyone could do on real console for sure. For now the fastest WRs can be still found at http://www.cyberscore.net/game-dk-racing.php because http://dkr64.com/ is a relative new site and doesn't include Mitani's car WRs. As far as I know there are no unintended shortcuts for this game, the dinosaur boss glitch seems like a rumour to me. I haven't tried it yet, though.
