Not very entertaining, but the solution was interesting, especially when the enemies started going really fast near the end. Also liked how you ended input early, and the game is a good piece of history. Voting No.

I learned about how to record videos and youtube upload standards but how do I edit my own videos to meet those standards so that it doesn't turn out blurry? I mostly use Windows Movie Maker and Virtualdub to edit them but I want to know how can edit the videos to meet Youtube requirements? I also have converters so I can convert the videos but is that recommended?
You can try upscaling them with VirtualDub's resize filter, found through Video>Filters>resize. I've found Nearest Neighbor to be best for 2D games and vector graphics, and Lanczos to be best for 3D games and raster graphics, including camera/camcorder video.

It is also already done. [2406] NES Kirby's Adventure "game end glitch" by MESHUGGAH, CoolKirby, Masterjun, MUGG, TASeditor & illayaya in 00:35.91 You can do any category you want if your goal is to learn the tools and not make a good run.
Are there any categories not being worked on or should I move to a different game?
If after you've practiced enough, you want to aim for a publishable run, you could do 100%. That one would find all the secret switches and probably avoid the stone glitch.

Great job, very entertaining! The map script encode really drove home the strategy and how fast you were really moving. Yes vote!

Thanks sheela! I noticed some sounds were missing when I watched this a few days ago. The new one is definitely better.

I found out how bad of a TASer I was on the v1. 3f saved on the Start Menu, 4f saved on the Level 1 intro [call those learning how to TAS]
Hey, it happens. At least you found it this soon when going through the improved run.

Saved 9f on 1-1 [The math is above]. Saved 8f on 1-2, same strategy as 1-1. Having 4 less objects on screen, and 2 less jumps, and using 1 disk, saved the frames.
Those sound like some pretty good improvements. Even if you only save 8 frames over 80 screens, that's an over 10 second-timesave. But you'll likely find more improvements as you go on; it helps to have an older run to compare to.

This looks pretty good so far. Some stages are completed quite fast, and I like the pause trick to gain height in one stage.

1. World 1 bone pits / world 2 boss thickets; they are the only two things in the entire game that have knockback when you touch them. They push you in the direction opposite of your facing and the push is quite sudden. There may be multiple opportunities to squeeze a few frames out of 1-2, 1-3 and the world 2 boss.
I tested this briefly and the game only seems to check which direction you're facing when you hit the bone pits. You can turn around in midair right before hitting them and it will boost you the other direction. It looks like it stops you for several frames afterward, so I'm not sure if it will turn out faster, but it might.

As TASers, you all know that you have to spend tons of time on your TAS projects. But then there are also my real life projects. So how do you (anyone?) personally balance your time so that the important things that need to get done get done while also doing a great deal on your TAS projects?
For most of the last few years, I felt I was able to balance real life and TASing about half and half. But I since learned that real life needs to come first. TASing and gaming both feel great and make me very happy but finishing college became more important, since I needed that to start supporting myself pretty soon. That said, what I'm actually going into is Game Design, where I can directly apply the things I've learned from playing, watching TASes of or TASing these hundreds of games. In my first C++ college class, they talked about variable types and pointers and I already know about those because of RAM Search and Cheat Engine! Gaming and TASing aren't useless for a career, like my parents used to say, and you can use them to bridge the gap between your passion and your job. If you do want to go into it, you might find it easier than a traditional job, and you'd get to work alongside other likeable people who don't make you feel embarrassed. You might not even need a college degree for it where you live. Learning to drive is helpful though, as is graduating from high school. But once you've pushed yourself to do them...that's it, they're done! And you'll never have to get your license or high school diploma again.

I liked it, and I think future levels could turn out more entertaining, especially if out-of-bounds clips are found like you said.

Thanks for linking me to that page. I was about to make a report, then found that apparently Lioncash reported it a few months back. However, he described it as "random", which I don't think it is. For some games, it always works; for others, it never works. It might have to do with how different games receive/process input, but that's just a guess. That bug also seems to be at 0% fixed. I hope someone starts working on it soon.

Did you find the background music glitch to be useful? I suppose it would depend on whether music lags the game, but I thought I should remind you.

4.0-6870, but I tried 4.0-9440 and it has the same issue. Thanks for checking though, I almost forgot to test the newest one.

You could make a quick testrun TAS to see how long a no-missed-shots deathless run would take, and familiarize yourself with how the ships control frame-by-frame at the same time. I would be interested in seeing that.

Hello! Super Mario Galaxy, awesome! Good luck with that. Just ask in that thread if you need help with it, I don't have in-depth knowledge of the game but people like Sonicpacker and others who've TASed some levels should.

I posted this earlier, but I timed it badly and it probably wasn't noticed: TAS input window doesn't work for about half of Wii games, including Mario Party 8. When the main menu or a similar screen is reached, the window will press and hold every button on the Wiimote, usually preventing any progress in the game. Closing the window is the only way to stop it. This prevents precise TAS input for these games. Some games like Mario Party 9 work fine though, for whatever reason. This appears to have been a problem for as long as Wiimote TAS input has been around.

In the latest commit, and one I have from May 31 (before zeromus' Hex Editor fix), Ram Watch's values appear to freeze upon loading a savestate, and will remain frozen until the core is rebooted.

Fast and exciting! This run has everything I like about FPS/007 TASes: action, tight cornering, smooth movement lines, no-delay reloads, tricks/skips and even some time to entertain (my favorites were Forbidden Depths and the face on the wall). Yes vote!

A nice little run, and I agree that the game is better than some actual licensed games on the NES. Yes vote! Also, the character reminds me of Kirby. Maybe it's the air puffs and cute faces.

Fantastic run, Malleo! With all the smart new glitches (Palace Skip!), increased optimization and graphical fixes like the Punies' animations, this feels like the definitive TTYD TAS. Big Yes vote! And thanks for thanking me. You've brought this game a long way from our original run.
