Very nice improvement! I enjoyed the new route, and it's still funny to watch the map as you launch upwards through all of the castle rooms. Yes vote.

I like the one with Yoshi licking the key because it doesn't really give anything away (that key was collected in the last any% run too) and it's a funny and slightly confusing shot (one would think: "Why is Yoshi eating the key and hovering over the pit?").

This run is faster than Randil's run by 502 frames(7 secondes)and that's refer to : !☺!McBobX's Idea!☺!:The writing of the informations (on the doors) are faster in Japanese version than the Other verion (U). the submission is the same Randil's submission.
This makes me have to vote No. You can't just copy Randil's hard work, switch ROM versions, cut out some text scrolling, and call it your run.

I think that precedent on the site says: 1. Use the (U) rom *in most cases* 2. Shorter text is not a valid reason to use (J) rom
It's also in the site rules. Shorter text in the J rom is not currently a reason to obsolete a run, especially if this run is slower but is faster because of less text (I don't know if this is the case; I haven't watched the run yet). Either way, we need McBobX to answer GeoCorn's question and tell us why he used a different version.

Amazing run! I enjoyed reading the in-depth submission text along with the video. All that work really paid off! Yes vote!

A curiosity that makes TASing (and NES TASing in particular) far more interesting to me.
Mukki's point is that the run is not required to be console verified to be accepted and published, so there's no reason to talk about it in the judging statement for the run. We can worry about console verifying the run after it's published.

I think the file in this submission is the wrong one. It should be 5:01.62, not 1:32.48. You should probably ask someone who has the power to replace the movie file to do so.

I think you submitted the wrong file. The other run you just submitted is the right file. Why does it start from a savestate instead of from SRAM?

Are you using DeSmuME 0.9.7 with Advanced Bus-Level Timing off, and the 1.0 US version of the ROM?

By the way, this run syncs on VBA 23 too (including the newest one, VBA 23.5 svn394). I enjoyed reading the submission text. And I'm glad you decided to keep the entertainment tradeoffs in the final run. Good job on this run; voting Yes! Of the screenshots you suggested, I like the first one the best, even if it is hard to see Aisha in front of the matching yellow background.

Not even admins are able to change the votes. The votes in the poll are locked into the site, and it would take some work to remove even one vote.

This looks great! I especially liked how optimized the flying parts looked, compared to the japanese TAS.
Yes, everything is faster in my TAS than 0Jwn's run. It's pretty annoying how I had spent hours optimizing a area, and he spent almost no time following an obviously unoptimized path. The worst part is that people thought he was actually optimizing everything, and that his route was the fastest. The flying parts I especially worked hard on, and each took me a few hours to make sure it was the fastest I could make it, so I'm glad you enjoyed them. I'm moving on to Chapter 1 now, and I expect to be done in about a month and a half (because of school and homework).

Thank you for telling us that, Twisted Eye. Well, this means I have to vote No. mlw7, make sure the game you're TASing isn't too easy to finish with tools. If it's too easy, it won't be entertaining and it won't get accepted.

Can you please provide more information about the run (and the game)? This sounds interesting.

Just to clarify, my problem has been that the audio is too long for the video. The audio dumped as 34:05 and the video dumped as 34:02. So yeah, deleting video frames wouldn't help in this case.
I was told on IRC that a dumped audio track has some extra frames of silence added to the beginning of the recording, as well as being too slow (it needs to be sped up by 10-20%).

Thank you for encoding the WIP, antd! The WIP looks good from a technical standpoint, goofydylan8. 11:03-11:15 in the encode is very good. However, from an entertainment standpoint, some parts are kind of boring. That's just my opinion, though. Good luck with the optimization!

I agree with DarkMoon and Carl Sagan. The backtracking makes the run less entertaining and it should not be used in the 96-exit run.

I thought not getting the Fire Flower at the Toad Shop would allow me to catch the moving platform in Rogueport Sewers sooner, and jump to the pipe. However, after testing and being faster by almost 100 frames, I still could not make it. I'm going back to where I was, optimizing flying into the Blooper room. I should finish the Prologue soon.

You could upload it to MediaFire, and Brandon could link to it from there.
