Nice run! I have a question though. In the stage where you're carrying rocks around (stage 10), why do you seemingly go out of your way at 8:40 in the encode to get another rock from the right in order to progress instead of just using the rock you're already holding?

I see. Well, you could always restart later if you want to. You wouldn't want to lose motivation before finishing the run once.

Looking forward to it! Just make sure you at least mostly optimize it though. You can be fast, but be accurate too.

I think he means the part of the run that played as Sonic in order to unlock Tails.

Impressive run! Like some others here, I didn't enjoy this as much as the Sonic's Story run, but nonetheless I found it very entertaining. Voting Yes! Oh, and I also nominate the screenshot of Tails walking away from the explosions.

Also, I believe Psycho Waluigi is a Game Maker game, and a run for it is in progress too.

Thanks for pointing that out; it has been changed. It turns out this isn't the first Sonic game on a Nintendo console after all, so that's been fixed as well. By the way, I love all the little hammer tricks in this run. I was entertained throughout. I know I'm late, but I'm voting Yes anyway.

Thanks again for the extra information. I've gone with 14% to clear up any confusion that may arise since the any% run gets lower% completion than that.

Would it be renamed to "no save corruption" or just nothing at all?
It would gain a branch name like "no save corruption", and this run would be published with no branch name.

Thank you for splitting those systems, FractalFusion! They've been needing separate categories for quite a while. BadPotato, there actually is a Chinese thread, but it's hidden in the Other Languages subforum. Would it be a good idea to have a small list of the languages that currently have threads in the Other Languages subforum as a caption (possibly excluding "Dansk")? Such as: Other Languages Suomi, Deutsch, Svenska, 中國

Thanks for the encode, Spikestuff! This is quite a technically impressive run, TheZZAZZGlitch. However, I have to say I wasn't entertained, unless you count the novelty of seeing most of the game for the first time, so I'm going to vote No. I found the ending funny and surprising though. By the way, when this is published, it'll either obsolete the currently published run (likely, since it's in the Vault) or be published alongside it as the any% run. It won't retain its "glitched" branch name.

I would also love to see the new run with new improvements true was thinking about making, and I'm sure some other people are too if he's still interested.

The complete GoodTools suite is available here. Also, the DesyncHelp page has been updated with this new link, thanks for reporting that problem.

I think "any%", "no X-Ray glitch", and "no X-Ray glitch, lowest ingame timer" are fine replacements for those runs' branch names. As for the last two, would "less glitched low%" and "less glitched low%, speedbooster" be okay? Or just "low%" and "low%, speedbooster"?

Unfortunately yes, you would need snes9x v1.43 to play that movie file. It won't work in lsnes or even newer rerecording snes9x versions. Maybe you can download one of the encodes for that run and watch it in a media player that allows you to slow down and speed up the video?

Because VBA emulates the whole system, the real time clock only runs when emulation is running. If you were to pause emulation, the real time clock would pause as well, and if you loaded an earlier or later savestate, the real time clock would be set back or forward to that time. This is in contrast to a real GBC, where the clock would continue to run whether the game is on or off. This means the answer to your second question would be yes, you can't turn off the game and have the clock still run, because emulation would stop along with the game.

Right, that's something you'll probably have to test. Generally it's best to go with the hardest difficulty available from the start, but if normal mode would make the game much slower or something, then easy mode might be better.

Actually, if you're going for fastest time with no restrictions (also known as any%), you don't need a branch at all. It can always be explained in the submission and publication texts why you chose normal mode. Good luck on your run!

You're welcome. Okay, I've fixed Asterix & Obelix, Duke Nukem, and the Hocus Pocus runs. And I see I misread the Wikipedia page for Epic Pinball, so I've corrected that one too. Thanks for the clarification, and also for just linking all these movies. It makes things a lot easier. For Jazz Jackrabbit, would it be enough to call it "Jazz Jackrabbit (shareware) in 04:43.79 by Ilari" and explain in the movie description that the shareware version only contains one episode?

"Asterix & Obelix" is one of two game modes in the Asterix & Obelix game. But you're saying the branch name should be removed because it's assumed the run is of the main mode unless stated otherwise (like with Super Mario Advance)? I've fixed the other six runs and all the DOS games too. Thanks for finding all these runs; let me know if you find more!

It's okay. I hope you continue to take your time with the rest of the run; it'll help minimize little mistakes like that which you'd have to go back and fix.

That was amazing! One of the comments on that video said that there's a new trick which allowed the run to be so fast. If that's true, could you describe this trick a little so we're aware of what it is?
