I am making the following assumptions in this message:
1) The movies with the most number of votes are the most popular movies.
2) The most popular movies are the movies that are most likely going to be downloaded by a casual viewer.
3) The casual viewer will have an avi as his prefered way to see the movie.
4) The unpopular movies will eventually be published.
5) A TASer tasing an unpopular game should realize that he will not be getting a lot of feedback for his run, making publishing a harder decision.
Now for the meat of the message:
I do not feel having a "favoritism" bias toward publishing popular movies is wrong. By giving priority to these movies, you are in fact encouraging site growth in terms of viewers. You may be hindering the growth rate of diversity, but so what? Why do we want a diverse site for the casual viewer? According to those assumptions, they could care less.
What about the actual TASers themselves? But DK64_MASTER, won't they get offended that their random oddball choice wont be published in less than a few weeks? Sure they might, but that's just the price they have to pay for picking an unpopular game. They should have some notion that if they TAS a game that isn't popular, they will have to deal with a lack of feedback, and in turn publishing speed. It's not like we can do anything about it.
If you give each game an equal priority, sure you can help appease these "rare-game" TASers' emotions, but you end up hindering the viewership growth of this site. The pros outweigh the cons if you use a priotity system.
Besides unpopularity, another reason why runs cannot be given a priority system is the judges themselves. Each have their own little preferences, guidelines, and rules on what they will encode. For example: A publisher, let's call him "kat" for complete anonymity cannot publish SNES9x runs. Since kat cannot publish this run there is one less publisher available to service it. This leads to a bias.
Final point: I'd like to applaude our publishers for the diminishing queue. It has gotten much smaller compared to a few years ago. Hats off to you, you are doing a great job. Don't mind Xkeeper, he's just a grumpy gus.
Looks very optimized. Great job.
I found the mini-boss a bit boring, are you usually supposed to use the rocs feather against him, and hit him in the air? Also, do bombs damage him more/less/not at all?
This would really be suitable for PM. It almost looks like you are making fun of this member. I wouldn't call out anyone (except for chalame and rridgwaycer) publicly on the forums.
Did you solve your problem? Here it says you were able to playback the movie.

If not, can you provide a few more details on where it desyncs (where Mario doesn't do what he is supposed to do).
Also, your English is good! :)
Thanks for the responses ShadowWraith and DeHackEd. Of course a simple solution would be to record a lossless 60fps movie with the input display enabled :P.
WARNING!!
This post will not help the original poster. This is a relevant tangent that I was just wondering about.
Let's say the video was lossless and 60fps. Would it be possible (in theory) to "infer" the button presses to create such a movie?
Start with the first frame of the lossless avi. Start a new recording session/savestate. Press a random button. If the frame of the lossless video matches the frame of the recording session, keep the button press, if not, load save-state and try again.
Yeah, that level was amazing. I didn't believe that it was actually possibe to complete the level without riding the platforms for an extended period of time. When mario turned around (waiting for the koopa) I thought mario was going to make his way back to the moving platforms, like what he did in C#5. I was pleasantly surprised.
Yay!
I've shown Jimsfriend, and most likely Fabian, JXQ, and gregx2 a variant of this glitch:
http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/58526436/fromnow.smv
This relies on the screen not scrolling. However, that SCW glitch, that was previously demoed, may be only possible with those certain sprites.
Certainly, after demoing this to Jimsfriend, I tried this in other places, I could not get it to work anywhere else in SMW.
FYI, you can play both movies with almost any SMW rom, hack or not, since they start from SRAM.
When viewing the run, this was one of the first things I asked both gregs. According to JXQ, it is possible to scale a wall, however you have to do it 1 "block" (16 pixels) at a time. Apparently this is very slow. They have tested this out, and they weren't able to get any improvements out of this. 1 thing is, that the screen might not scroll when doing jumps high in the air, so they had to wait for the ghost to spin jump off of to make the screen scroll.
Very nice job skamastaG and thegreginator. I especially liked dp2, ci5b, vob2, c7, and c2.
You took some pretty insane shortcuts, and you made every scrolling level very entertaining.
A huge yes vote. A yes vote to publish it under regular runs, NOT CONCEPT DEMOS! A star, if you will.
I love how there's now an extremely kick-ass run that will appease the likes of people who don't like the smw games because you just "fly over every level" (no offense to fabian, because he defintely does not fly over every level). This will definitely appeal to a first time viewer. It held my attention throughout the whole run, and I never got bored.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! You made me very happy!
Yes, you can have at least 4 players connected to 1 Wii. I'm not sure how many more can be connected via LAN play, though.

Even the SNES could support more than 2 players. It even lists 1 8 player game, but I doubt that's accurate.
I believe an author should be able to do what ever the hell he/she wants to do with her submission, as long as it doesn't violate the rules of this site, while taking into account common courtesy.
If an author wants to cancel his run, so be it, he/she doesn't have to provide an explanation if he/she doesn't want to.
What do you think the point of canceling a run is?
You say you think "less" videos should be canceled, meaning you think that the cancel feature should still exist. So my question to you is: What criteria should one have to meet in order to be able to cancel a run?
On a lighter note:
That explains everything.
This game is very colorful! I didn't understand what some of the goals were at times, but that didn't lower the enjoyment factor. Yes vote, and thanks for the brain stimulation! :D
