Nice video BKDJ! ComicalFlop, you've improved so much. Honestly, I remember watching V1 and saying, this n00b can't TAS DKC2, even though he loves the game, leave it to Sami and Arne. Boy, was I wrong. I'm looking forward to further WIPs for this run. Continue the great work!

Hm, could you make the 5 CPU bankrupt movie involve the player going bankrupt as well? Or is it not possible to have all players go bankrupt?
Theoretically, the only way would be get a chance/community chest card that penalizes everybody including the card drawer...if something like that even exists. If it doesn't, then it is impossible.
What if you roll a doubles, do something that takes money away from all players (except for you), and then land on a property on the second turn that bankrupts you? Or does the game end before you can finish your doubles roll?

Looking good Sami. I have one question though... When you smash that hut, shouldn't you have collected the notes?
I'm confused about the route too. http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/967/testbn2.gif I think he did what he did, because he had to get bottles, and it was on the way? Oh yeah, Sami, you need to hit the witch switch at some point too. You probably know that, but just reminding you :).

Mine will be single segment. Is the glitch you're refferring to the Death Mountain Descent glitch? If so then I won't be using that. If you're meaning another glitch then I don't know about it so could you tell me? I will be using the magic cape for the boss of Misery Mire. As it's a console run it is near impossible to efficiently kill the eyes with spin attacks unless you do not have damage to worry about, as you can go much closer into the slime and hit many of them with each slash. I may also use it for Kholdstare, as it's much easier to get the 3 fuzzy things locked into a corner when you don't get hurt by the falling ice blocks.
I don't think it's the death mountain descent glitch. I described it in one of my earlier posts. Here is an abridged description: "Get the Magic Cape early: At any point after you first get to the dark world, go to the Cemetary. Use the Magic Mirror to warp around near the tombstone that has the Magic Cape under it, and you can find your way into that little space. Dash into the headstone, traverse the cave, and get the Magic Cape! " Here is a more descriptive version: "Acquiring the Magic Cape "Early" The Magic Cape is a super-useful (but often over-looked) item in this game which gives Link complete invincibility when worn. It eats away big time at your magic meter, but other than that, all is practically well. Usually, to get it, you'd have to wait until after you get the Titan's Mitt, but not if you know what to do! You can get it after acquiring the Hookshot in the Dark World. Once you do, do this. Go to the broken bridge that leads perfectly horizontal over the river to the south of where the Witch's Hut would be in the Dark World. Use the skull pots on the other side to grapple over, and then go to the locations of the graveyard in the Dark World. Work your way into the extreme right-hand corner of the Dark World graveyard site, and then use your Magic Mirror to warp back to the Light World. If done correctly, you'll be in a surrounded area with the righthand-most grave in the Light World's graveyard, surrounded by dark green stones that can only be moved with the Titan's Mitt. From here, go in front of the gravestone and dash into it with the Pegasus Shoes. It'll open up revealing a staircase leading down. At the end of the pathway here is a treasure chest, in which is the Magic Cape!" Sorry for no paragraph formats :(.

@MadZombie/100% TASer In a 100% console run, are you going to perform the "warp" glitch so you can get that cloak device/cape early?
If it turns out that the route of the warp glitch is quicker than the route using the pegasus boots, than I'll be doing that. But please ellaborate. Do I have to be in the grave yard to perform that glitch? If so than it's probbly better to wait.
I'm not sure of the specifics of the glitch, unfortunately. I haven't played Alttp for about 3 years :(, let alone pull off the glitch. However, some bedtime reading might be helpful: "Aquire Invisibility Cape Early There is a way to get the Magic Cape right after you get the Hammer in the Palace of Darkness(Dark World's 1st dungeon). In the graveyard in the Light World you'll notice there are dark colored rocks with the number 8 on the them surrounding a tombstone, but if you go to the same place in the dark world you can cut down a flower and dash into a pile of rocks that usually reveals a red ruby(worth 20 rubies). In this place you need to use your Magic Mirror north of the rock pile. If you've done this right you can circumvent the dark colored rocks in the Light World. Note: You need to use the Magic Transprter between the Kakariko Village and the Lost Woods to reach this location. " Hope that helps.

@MadZombie/100% TASer In a 100% console run, are you going to perform the "warp" glitch so you can get that cloak device/cape early? I don't think the device will be particularly useful, as it consumes MP like a bitch, but it's a point of interest. I have no idea if it is faster. @MadZombie Only Oh yeah, is your 100% run single segment? If not, Radix will definitely allow save/quit warping, as long as each new segment starts at a new save/quit point. He also allows deathwarping now, I think... But you probably know that.

As I started Slime Climb, I disappointedly found that I can climb faster by one frame by pressing "b" one frame before I can grab the rope... arg all the way back to Mainbrace Mayhem where the ropes start... poll: should I continue or go back to the WAY beginning to fix all the rope mistakes, as well as other tiny mistakes people have pointed out? It will go faster, because A) I know how to beat the bosses now, no biggie and B) there are a few mistakes I can improve on that will save frames, as well as seeing if I can save frames in crocodile cauldron and krem quay because I've played them before and I can comprae it with something. I need input fast though
If you believe that it won't dampen your spirits, and you are still motivated to do the run, I see no reason to go back and fix your mistakes. It would be for the best, and make your run a lot harder to obsolete! It's your call.

I would love to see someone paint the Mona Lisa in Mario Paint in record time. I guess, you technically wouldn't need artistic skills, you would just use a predetermined image, and note where all the pixels are, and copy the pixel locations. I'm not familiar with Mario Paint, but something like this might be feasible? Or you could make it consistend, and have the fastest time to draw a predetermined/complex image such as the TASvideos logo, or something relevant to our community (tiger robocop!).

For a Zelda game, this run sure has been put on low priority for encoding. Not to be rude, but I've been waiting for quite a while to see an AVI. Just wondering why this movie hasn't been published yet. It's almost 3 weeks old! An avi may in fact help the speedrunning community too (for those who don't want to view the run via movie file). I hope nobody has forgotten about this, which is the main reason behind my post. If it is going to be published soon, forgive my ignorance.

What would be more efficient? Getting the 100-coin star with the traditional red coins, or...getting them on the Koopa race? The latter wold be really cool to watch.
If you lag behind KTQ (at least in Bob-omb Battlefield) he will run slower. I'm not sure what happens in Tiny Huge Land. I dunno if this is an issue, but it's worth noting.

You might have alreayd corrected this, but your Rematch with Koopa the quick has been beaten on a console. The trick is to longjump onto the Shy Guy hovering over the beach and land near the goal. See a video of it here.[/url]
Speedwise, it shouldn't really matter. It take KTQ a predetermined amount of time to get to the flagpole. Aesthetics is another matter. ;)

Here's an AVI DeHacked encoded to show FODA's progress. It resumes from the 64 stars AVI previously posted. :) https://webfiles.berkeley.edu/DK64_MASTER/shared/FODA81.avi Download away!

I was reading more about this, and you can apparently have the chuckya turn into a star. Could this speed up one of the WDE stars? Doubtful, but it might be something to consider.
