There are already two large dedicated communities to the topic you are trying to cover - SpeedDemosArchive and TASVideos. Additionally, these sites host the runs, have a large user base, have a large staff of volunteers, and etc. There is no major reason for people switch communities, or join a secondary one that serves the same purpose.
So, don't feel discouraged when people don't sign-up for your site. You are trying to move against a massive tide of momentum. I'd suggest, if you'd like your own forum, to find a topic that isn't covered yet, that may interest people.

Maybe I'm just living in a "first-first-world country", as that doesn't seem to make any sense to me.
Most homes (in the united states) have their own hot-water heater - depending on the size, and water flow of the shower, it may last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1h30m.

It appears the end of summer may not be the best time for most people.
Also, if you are not going to possibly participate because of game choice, please don't sign up. It would suck for your team if you don't end up participating if you disagree with game choice, once it is announced.

Bump, its time to start this process, ASAP, before summer ends!
Lets get sign ups and game suggestions coming in. Sign up in this thread, PM any game ideas to me.
I'm going to do a slightly different format this year. 3 games will be selected, and everyone has 24 hours to vote. Then, the contest 'officially' begins. (Anyone can start within that 24 hour period). I'm suggesting the same period, 3 weeks + 1 weekend.

Not that this has necessarily been abused per se, but there have been several cases recently where a submitter has clearly not understood the idea with TASes, at least one of them having zero posts when he made the submission.
This has been brought up before, and I have to agree with the consensus we came to at the time - the few crappy submissions we get don't outweigh the loss of a great submission from a non-active member, such as a japanese TASer.
While, perhaps they may become active, the more blocks we put up, the more likely they are to be sufficiently happy with nicovideo, and ignore this site.

People will evaluate the movie however they choose to. Your best bet is to try and hype up the movie by posting WIPs.
