So my cyberelf abuse doesn't actually help in TAS, shame.

Strange, well, my experience stems solely from realtime play, in wich deerburn yielded faster results (for me), I should have thought about that. y'know, having super rapid buster in TAS and all X_X As for your next question, maybe choosing Helios first is the best way too go, seeing that he can combo...not something I'd advise in normal play, but since it's TAS, you should be able to get alot extra out of Helios stacking attacks. The alternative is fighting Helios without any good combo... When I think about it, I do recall being able to slam Thetis with Atlas twice each turn...however...each charge costs 4 LME, where Helios' combo costs nothing... My memory is fuzzy when it comes to damage, but I'm certain that Thetis' combo on Helios does 20 damage (12-4-4). I'm not sure what Helios' combo does, or what Atlas can inflict on Thetis. So...just fight those three battles (Helios w/o Thetis, Thetis w/ Helios and Thetis w/ Atlas) or calculate damage/time stuff.

Rapid fire the hive? with what? Model A >.> that takes forever compared to deerburn spamming triple arrows. Also, Helios can't outperform Rospark in damage on Kaizemine. On Condorock: Also, Dragon > JumpSlash > GroundSlash is Thetis' Damage Barrier ignoring combo. But Helios should be better yeah X_X

Wow, that Chain Rod glitch sure is something, I'm gonna try to do it in regular play. Edit: WOW, I LOVE THE CHAINROD GLITCH SO MUCH! seriously, I'm showing it to everyone I know because it's so freaking awesome! Oh and the timing couldn't have been better, just as I am working on a SS run of Z2's hard mode. I found some usefull skips, the CR glitch can be used on the shrines in the Temples of Flame~Wind, you can imagine that not having to deal with the walls in Fafnirs stage saves a great deal of time. Amusingly, when you zip through the ceiling before the boss door in the Temple of Flame, Guarder Room (boss intro music) will start playing LOL also, all enemies that come on screen explode as when you enter a boss room door. interesting. When you've cleared the stage, it will act as if you went into the door, transfering you back to the resistance base. In the Temple of Ice you can skip the first shrine, and while you can even get on top of the second, you cannot progress from there, good fun tho. In the Temple of Wind, you can skip both shrines BUT, the CR glitch demands that the wall is on the right side, meaning you have to enter the door of the second shrine and climb up to perform the zip. I also found some Useless zips, but I thought I'd mention them anyways: -intro, you can skip through the ceiling above the Cyberelf box. -Panter, you can skip through ANY ceiling in any train. -Fafnir1, before the molten lava buckets, blue background, left-topcorner from the gabyoall (spinning thing) -Airplane, you can zip back to the door past the golem from the long vertical shaft with all the ladybug jets. -TempleWind, arbitrary, you can get under the boss doors, you can zip into the right door. Those are all fun, but the most awesome of all is the one in the Final stage, you can zip through the righthand corner of the first boss set room! sadly, no boss will appear beyond that point, and you will never hear guarder room, even when entering the final chambers. even more peculiar is that the door of the 2nd boss set room is MISSING. Elpis and X are missing too, but for the first time ever, ingame you can fully see the branches of Yggdrasil (yay) Damn, RMZ2 just got a little more awesome.

Good vid man! About your Route: Beating Atlas with Rospark is faster -but IIRC you don't have enough LME to kill him at once, so enter with a Charge shot, Trans On to Rospark and then let him have it...I also think that Rosparks charged electric slaps ignore Damage Barrier once. About Condorock, open with a Charge shot, then switch to Helios and do the usual jumpslash-runslash-triple combo where possible, when out of reach, a charge attack perhaps? I'm not sure about how much damage Helios does per hit tho, you should try Thetis' Dragon-Jumpslash-groundslash too. Tip for Queenbee, the container breaks insanely fast (in regular play at least) with Deerburn, Rospark does tons of damage, and I don't really see anything coming anywhere close to that. Rockman ZX, beat with Helios or Thetis, both have combos where Model A can only hit for small amounts of damage compared.

they do have a little invincebility time? well, I tried doing it on GBA and they gave me ALOT of invincibility time >.> Also, I'm not referring to canceling missions, I'm mentioning a new tactic I discovered while speedrunning Zero. the cyberelf dropped by the wheel enemies in the second stage (in your video at 3:48) can be used to save time in the neo arcadia temple area. You know when you have to wait for the blocks to appear? (8:40) you can activate the elf, then rush through the enemies and jump in the deathpit on the right...the float back upleft to the platform. oh well, I'll show you an example as soon as I get one, I'm submitting a speedrun of Hardmode (singlesegment) all missions to SDA, if it get's accepted, you'll see how awesome cyberelf abuse is.

Routeplanning should be this: (normal mode) intro, Take the test, find giro, Area D, Hivolt, Fistleo, Hurricaune, Prometheus, Luarle, Leganchor, Purprill, Protectos ~finals (easy mode) intro, test, giro, D, Hivolt, Purprill, Protectos, Fistleo, Prometheus, Hurricaune, Flammarl, Luarle, Leganchor ~finals. On normal, you can rape some midbosses horribly by using the Ground Break(LV2 +down charge of FX), but in TAS maybe OIS wiggling can outperform it...I killed the big Mettool in two GB's and I killed the midboss in Area F in ONE ^^ As for Tactical Finish, HX needs both LV4, as in the final stage you have to use it on 6 bosses!!! (flammarl,fistleo,protectos,purprill,serpent1&2) FX needs two LV2 victorys, PX needs LV1s and LX needs about...I dunno, I always get two LV4 on them >.> or sometimes a LV3 on Luarle, practially you can LV2 them both tho. The normal route setup is made primarily to enable you to get the HX's OIS Tornado asap, and to make sure you can take the shortcut in area I, since it saves alot of time. On Easy, you only really need the RollingSlash and PX's LV1 Chargeshot... Something I discovered that may be useful, is that you can hit the airplane boss by shooting the Double Charge Shot at a wierd angle, the pink stuff around the charge shot will deflect and if done properly it connects, enabling you to take him down in 3 turns instead of 4! Also, for a TAS, I think it may be better to use Aile, since there might be some use to her hitback (bounces more off enemies than Vent) and she actually crawls faster. I saw some great bossvids on Youtube from AnLZero, they might help since they're superfast but they're LV4 only, so you should keep in mind to tweak strategies into hurting the bosses weakspots. When I get mah new camera (and a DS with an L button that I didn't break), I'll try to make some recordings to help, it'll be shakking all over the place since I can't hold the damn thing still tho. I actually broke two DS L buttons and two DS Lite L buttons during my speedrunning of ZX(and a little ZXA), these things are weak XD

just watched the current MMZ tas and I have a question, why wasn't the cyberelf in stage 2 picked up (the one dropped by the spinning wheel enemy), if you withdraw it from the transerver you can use it to chip off some time in neo arcadia temple, I think about 5 to ten seconds. another thing, I don't understand how the f*ck you can cancel the slashes with the buster and not hit the boss/trigger the damage barrier, can someone explain that to me?

right. In the hope that anyone is still working on a TAS of this game, I want to discuss strategies, while I have never TASd a game, I did beat the shit out of this title and I am dying to see this game TASd. I got the following times (based on cleargame save): 0:53'39 Easy, 0:57:27 Normal and 1:02'01 Hard All were single segment playthroughs with Vent.
