I made an encode!
I am very disappointed, I demand a 1080p encode! Not a dinky useless 480p madness of blurriness!

I agree with Paused, I vote for option 2. Toothache summed it up best:
<Toothache> do the combos that dont add lag <Toothache> best of both worlds

By posting more, after the first 10 or so posts, you're pretty much out of the Lurker rank. I can't be assed remembering the exact numbers at this time.

While I can't speak for Europe directly, I can confirm that far less RPGs came out there. It helps that Australia and Europe kept getting factored in under the same market.

Have you people factored in that with enough correctly timed arm spasmed mid-sleep pressing the buttons on the controller, that it might be possible to complete Desert Bus while being in a state of sleep?

I'd love to see translation patches given the green light, provided they are 'finished' patches. For example, Mother 3 or Shining Force: Final Conflict (As mentioned above).

What was great. It's a bit redundant to Yes vote now, but I'm encoding in HD and SD.

It occurs to me though that allowing donators to sponsor published runs might be a better way to go (No having to wait around for money to be cashable or worrying about whether a sponsored run would be publishable in the first place.)
That's a surprisingly good idea, personally. All we have to hope for is that someone doesn't keep sponsoring Rolling Thunder to force it onto the front page.

It was fairly entertaining, Yes vote and encoded in HD. Playlist Part 1 Part 2 Also, sorry Irdoh, but uh... yeah, that isn't a qualifying encode, we need to contact each other at some point, I'd like to see another encoder, but XviD videos without logo or subtitles isn't exactly going to cut it. Anyway, encoded in SD with a merange of 256 while encoding into lossless, thanks Aktan for the suggestion on both of them. There is two editions, both with different audio codecs and containers: MP4 download 10mb (Uses AAC audio) MKV download 13mb (Uses OGG audio) It's almost impossible (Without breaking player compatibility) to make a more optimized encode, if this one isn't published, I'll be pretty astounded, heh. Be sure to use the latest ffdshow! Here, have a download page. I have tested this encode in VLC, MPlayer and Windows Media Player (The one that comes with Windows 7), it should work.

Just for the record, this game is actually a potentially serious TASing candidate... all I did was play a minigame inside of it. Have a fiddle around for yourself to see what I mean.

Also, I think that you should give Kings Bounty's Star over to Shining Force. Its a much more famous game and the amount of luck manipulation is even crazier.
I sort of agree. However, I am also very highly biased due to the game choice, personally? I'd annotate Shining Force a 'Notable run' status... and would do so already if it weren't for the fact that the feature is locked out except for when publication is actually occouring... at least, to publishers.

Yes voted, and uploaded to YouTube in High Definition. TODO: Get Mukki's permission to embed the YouTube video into the submission text

I'm disappointed in the lack of faith in the translation. I'd vote no on a Japanese TAS because I wouldn't be able to understand it... Mother 3 has a very good story line if there isn't any significant sequence breaking, and if there is such breaking? I vote yes to the Japanese edition. Entertainment value drops significantly on a non-translated non-sequence breaking Mother 3 TAS, in my opinion, we could at least have an understandable storyline.

Because someone thought it was a good idea to replace the input file, I'm going to have to use annotations again. And trust me, I'm not reencoding a movie for a stinking bonus screen that ultimately means nothing.

I will create some WMV later.
Which is a proprietary format that cannot store media in arbitrary codecs. Even AVI is better than that.
I'm highly inclined to agree with creaothceann, the Encoding Guidelines don't exactly facilitate the use of WMV files (Unless there is a way to shove H.264 video and AAC audio into a WMV... but even then, the Windows only nature of the container isn't very friendly), assuming you know how to dump an AVI from the emulator, the Windows based encoding guide should be able to help you encode videos. Follow the guidelines correctly and follow the encoding guide and you might very well have a publishable encode on your hands! Don't be afraid to try and contact other encoders or publishers about encoding videos, it is indeed a bit of a confusing process for a first timer (I should know) but it gets easier as you go along, just remember, we're always here to help!

Dailymotioned This will be YouTubed when I get Snood and GTA out of the way. Random screenshot if this run gets published... didn't really put any effort in finding it, really.

There, optimized Bisqwit's screenshot (Which used a slightly odd resolution... the AVI I dumped is 256*224, Bisqwits screenshot was 256*232, I just added a transparent 8 pixel border below). Now someone set this to accepted already, pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase.

For the record, I'd suggest Hex Workshop, it has served me excellently well in my hacking adventures (Mostly regarding Shining Force and Gourmet Paradise) but it costs money... unless you do what I did, anyway. >> <<

Segata Sanshiro plays so well he can watch RAM addresses and trace CPU instructions simply by observing the electric currents going through the video game console with his eyes.

All of these new encoders has me very excited! Seriously! Just a reminder that High Definition encoding is also a possibility if you so wish to encode such a video and though such videos won't be published as a downloadable encode, the quality benefits are definitely worth it on the streaming media. I know adelikat mentioned High Definition encoding in the initial post, but I believe it is worth emphasizing my point that Vidder/Archive.org only publications really could use a higher quality streaming media link, so... why not go all the way?
