Okay, if people want to see what the game can be like on the hardest difficulty here is a video. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5049270289227949937&hl=en And no, I'm not making another TAS, I'm just posting this in case someone else wants to TAS it.

Now, there is a slight problem, should we use the "good" dump of Somari, the one WITHOUT the special stages or level selects, or the "bad" dump with the stuff?

Thats because they were removed for some reason.

Yes, I am serious about this game, and yes I think a run of it would be entertaining. Basically, everyone knows how hard this game is and I think it is fairly fast paced when done right, plus there is plenty of glitches to abuse as well. Do you guys think there should be a run?

I assume that a level 25 Ness is DOABLE if you make every single attack miss, though I have never actually gotten up to Giygas so er... yeah. I have only gotten up to the mountain.

Perhaps have a glitched run, for the Japanese's version and a "non-glitched" run for the American version?

They either modified the emulator (The more likely option) or they took a long time and did the 4 games seperatly.

Again, I would like to know if this game still has interest because I would love to see a full TAS of it =P But don't ask me, last time I tried a TAS it of course was made to fail. Also, if Recca was to get a TAS, should it also do the extra mode?

I'd hate to bump an old topic, but how are TAS progresses going, because after finally giving this game a shot, I can say I would have more luck meeting Jesus than ever completing this game.

I watched and was impressed. I don't normally like Sonic the Hedgehog 1 but this movie is good enough to keep me entertained.

I have this game on PC, it came with my Sonic 3 and Knuckles collection. I would like to see a TAS of this game.

I'd rather see a Master System run than a Game Gear run, than again, I have the Master System version. =P I find the youtube posted runs very appealing and fast, I like them.

Maybe someone could make a WIP of the first level on the hardest difficulty, and show Flygon how you do it so he could learn how to TAS. That could be a good idea ;)
I already did that, and it was quiet easy, for the first level. I dread the later levels so on, because for example, if I was to do a No Nova Bomb game it would be VERY hard to even do. Of course that is not applicable with todays frame advance but you see my point =P
