So while I would be greatly entertained by this movie, making a 70 odd exit autoplay Mario would be a phenominal effort. Although, the results would be very cool. Just... please, don't have more anime sync levels.

Next-gen.biz did a nice write up on speed running. SDA Got the most attention, but this site got quite a bit too, and got a slightly outside perspective on what both sites do: http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6957&Itemid=2

It was fairly entertaining, though I'm not sure why you kept swapping difficulties through different levels.

I imagine it's quite a few, as I used to be fond of reading the Forum Friday's on Monday, and then I found maybe 1 out of every 4 links worked for me. The forums are a bit more closed than I'd like, I don't mind disclaimers, but I like links to work. Or, I could claim I'm a member of PETA, and Goons hunt furries, and furries are... well, something. Either way, neither are ethical.

It's kinda a farce to complain about a racing game being sub optimal. It'll take years of trials and tests for it to become "frame perfect" A) Few TAS'es aren't updated with a new strategy or tighter playing, let alone a racing game with thousands of little ways to improve it, or in this case, 4 types of karts with a lot of items, shortcuts, and 7 players to manipulate. B) It decimates current world records, and often in an impressive way.

Giving it a Yes based on the WIP's. I do agree the laps done really fast are more entertaining than the glitched short laps, but the trade off isn't horrific, and there already are more improvements that the next brave soul can attempt, so they can decide.

For some reason, 10 was the one that was easiest to solve for me. Also the first one I solved. I suppose I should try the others.

There we go. Sadly, there's no hair with ringlets that go down to my chest, so this will have to do. What? I like my hair.

Done, and once I stop being lazy and host it online, I'll make it my avatar. But according to that, if I don't have my beard on, I really really look like a chick. Damnit.

Now, I'm going to be entirely honest here. I love the mullet on that thing. I love it!

So far an enjoyable watch, well for a NES Dragon Quest Video, but why was it named Dragon Warrior 2 on the script in the opening?

While an awesome amount of effort was put into planning and manipulation, and I firmly believe my enjoyment of the game was lowered because I have never played it, the extremely long travel sequences definately slow down the entertainment value of this run. It brings up interesting possibilities for more computer games, so as a benchmark I'd vote yes, but as a person entirely unfamiliar with the game, I didn't find enough entertainment value from that game to vote it as a yes. I applaud the effort, the video just didn't seem to have it for me though.

I was wondering, as sometimes the counter really jumped for no apparent reason, though twas almost always up, and it also shows the no encounter step glitch (Walking on worldmap by mountains) Was entertaining at least, although a bit long to watch.

You'd get a yes vote from me, but I don't think I've posted enough to vote yet. But I support this time attack, though I didn't have the patience to play the game.

Ahhh, I so loved this game as a child. I still need to find the soundtrack. Anyhow, also, would it be 100% collection in each level? That may take some time. But this would be an awesome video to watch, whether 100% or not, since I don't remember beating the game, but I loved the levels.

No comment, save for the fact that was quite entertaining, especially the muddle joker doom on Ultros. Hope to see a good quick ending in the world o Ruin, as that went by fairly quickly. Although I did watch in fast forward.

Very nice video there. Well exploited, I was wondering where you'd get the bombchus (I didn't read the first 15 or so pages of this thread), keep up the good work, and I would love to see another video, of completion, or more where it is going. Huge sequence break too, that I love.

I havn't seen the WIP's, seeing as I don't have the rom, so I can't comment on them, but I have been watching this thread since /* did a test run, so I just want to say keep up the good work Samurai. And if I see the runs, I'll comment.

I got desynced during the ifrit fight, then sabin died, then everyone died, so, well, it was at the end. Otherwise, very entertaining movie, well thus far. With the Sabin and Cyan fight where you heal, had you healed pre combat and maniupalated sabin into countering twice, wouldn't that be a faster fight?

I'm not entirely sure the world record applies to the 100 coins collected, from the videos it was very apparent that FODA had 2 goals every time he was getting the 100 coins, to get 2 stars very quickly in that order. That potentially adds time, as there are quite conceivably faster coin routes, but are there ones that also put you in position for the second star?

I'd just suggest checking the distance you can stomp from, because I recall that you can hit it with the stomp animation hardly starting. After watching the SDA version, I went and tested and found that it could be faster than what they did, but it took precision, or a lot of trys on a console. Though this at most would affect the movie by 1 or 2 seconds, still counts and the other work is amazingly impressive.

I'm just curious, I've never experimented with am emulator, but I've found the Z stomp, when done close enough to the star skips the animation and sends you straight to the ground faster in pretty much all situations. Some stars you do that or other techniques, but a couple times you just let the fall animation happen. Was that actually timed to be faster, or was the fact that I was watching the movie at 2x speed making me misestimate time used?

Aye, that brought back some memories. Very entertaining, although the fastrunning without steroids was new to me. Hope the other releases come out soonish.
