Even as a frequent lurker of this site, knowing about the previous SMW TASes, I did not expect that ending that unfolded, at all. Best unveiling of a TAS ever, and excellent work. The famous Pokémon "total control" run really started a mini-revolution in TASing after all !

One of the most entertaining TAS I have ever seen ! Even if bortreb's TAS has it's own merits for both being a precursor and the type of achievement produced, I agree that this run should obselete it, since it is far more interesting to watch as a playaround, especially for the casual audience.

Watched the entire run. ALL OF MY YES VOTES. I expected brilliancy, but somehow I was still extremely surprised by some of the new strategies. Glorious and well worth the wait ! Congratulations to the 120 star team and everyone who contributed in the way to the completion of this TAS :)

I think the wallkicks in BitFS were done faster, but I'm not an expert.
It's definitely the wall-kicks. They found a faster way to gain speed by doing more wall-kicks inside the column. Also, the climb to the 2nd locked door is slighty different, but doesn't look faster.

I don't think this game lends well for a third type of run which would be interesting enough. It's not like SMW in which a extremely useful item warrants a small-run only , significantly different from the standard cape run.

I can't tell if you were going for the fastest time, but I believe I already beat this time in Time Trial, and I didn't even really tried hard for it. Let me check though. I think the World Record is around the low 33-second mark.

^ A TAS going for score is pointless, as you could theorically max out the counter by playing the E9 stage over and over : collect at least 100 bananas -> 1-up, suicide and repeat (the score doesn't reset after each death). It doesn't take a lot of reasoning to see why it could never be published, or even why someone wouldn't bother playing the stage thousandths of times just for a TAS.

I'm pretty sure the usage of 2 Pokémon at the same time was for PP management, and thus time saved by going into less Pokémon centers. The greater amount of forced battles (emphasize on the Plasma plot) and the new EXP formula as mentioned above allows such strategy which likely wouldn't have been possible in other games without wasting time. I was surprised to see that in a Pokémon TAS too, but this worked out really well IMO. Surfing through Victory Road is WAY slower than going around the water. No discussion here !

I just knew when seeing the thread title that I was gonna watch something REALLY HUGE. What can I say ? Thoroughly impressed and entertained all along, and too many things to list that blew my mind. Masterful work. Best TAS ever. Even a "yes" vote cannot make justice to this run.

Crazy bombjumping @ 5-3 (around 21:30 in the encode), this one totally surprised me. Voted yes :) I should note that the YT encode states 23:39.55 as the final time. Shall it be corrected ?

Crazy run ! Though I'm a bit surprised this ramp trick glitch wasn't discovered before. Totally looking forward to the full TAS, and I agree switching between stories could be more enternaining with a right sequence.

Really refreshing compared to all the recent SM64 TAS. The path leading to BitS is a big WTF moment. Nice job, MKDS buddies ! Edit : Added my Yes vote :)

Great run, great planning. Liked the parts with Ralts and the battle with Magneton. (I did not know about the King's Rock before) My favorite screenshot is the Skarmory one, indeed, but the Magneton one is also fine !
