Meh vote. Maybe I'm just not appreciating how hard the game actually is, but the TAS really isn't showing off how hard it is in that case. Still has some entertainment, but several things (the OOBs mostly) just cut out a bit of that.

Well, no, if it's sloppy, even if it's faster it still will get rejected for being sloppy.

maybe this could be considered 100% and the farther levels can be any%. i still dont know though
I think you're misinterpreting what those percentages are. If this is not rejected for not reaching a point at which the game stops getting harder (as I believe it will be) this would be Any%, not 100%

If it's not faster than anything else out there it'll probably get rejected. Merely being faster than WR is not enough. Note that I say *probably* and not *will* because some cases something faster is not provable, or you are proving something faster isn't possible, but these are rare cases.

I like the idea, but as Warp said, shortly *after* the TASes are submitted is better.

General immaturity from using such words also doesn't lend a lot of positive to your argument either.

I'll do it.
Yeah, if you're in favor of unstarring stuff because it's "old" I don't really know if I'd like you doing this.

*fourth On topic, excellent production. Best of luck with future plans, and hoping that the next GDQ you attend has some equally mind-blowing tricks.

That it still gives you the 1k points on tilt I was not expecting.

On Balls 1 and 2, would it not have been possible to tilt the table in order to cancel the bonus advance? I can think of a couple reasons why this wouldn't work (the bonus countdown takes just as long regardless; you can't tilt out the table while still draining the ball as quickly; tilting ends the game entirely) but I don't know the game (not the table, the game itself) so I don't know.

Aight, seeing more of how this is aiming now. Researched TAS Either a beaker with some liquid in it or something else that represents "work".

Oh my word. You really did go into overtime on the TAS.

Interesting goal choice. Very nifty to manipulate re-vortexes from the bumpers, that is far faster than I expected it would be. I'm going to link the real-life pinball table this game is based on, for anyone who is interested in comparing. http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=1796 I'm voting yes on this, but I'm also a pinball aficionado and think most pinball TASes are impressive.

No, Warp, I am trying to say that the site is too far in the opposite direction; it does a ton of talking about stuff but rarely does anything happen with that talk. And because rarely does something happen with that talk, I lack faith in the site to change in any way, despite seeming very open to it.

If some of the judges have a disagreement with the judgement as it has been given, why do you not discuss the judgement yourselves and reevaluate it as a group? There is precedent for getting the thought of other judges in rendering a decision. And in all reality, this site is pretty poor when it comes to a firm stance on anything controversial. So I have no faith in anything happening, and I have no clue what will or will not be accepted much anymore because I lack any faith in the site to be consistent on anything close.

I think one of the other parts was triviality, Warp; a movie that's too trivial to replicate in real-time is also rejectable IIRC.

Put it this way: The Boss Key in Arbiter's is so badly protected, it's obtainable early in Bug Limit. The method done in the TAS is the normal method done in normal (non bug limit) runs, and uses a clip between the pillar and the wall. The other method, used in normal bug limit runs as it's entirely bug-free rather than a clip between two objects, is to roll across the sand and then transform at the other side to wolf attack and climb up. It's possible to even get this without a roll stab, though the roll stab adds a fair bit of safety to this method. As if that weren't enough, the only way to cross the pit coming back is via the spinner tracks. If you fall in the pit the ledge is too high to grab and you'll void in the sand. The only side which is low enough to grab the ledge is the side with the boss key... ya know the side you're trying to keep people from reaching... wtf were you thinking Ninty?

That is ignored by other site rules which state that time gained due to language change alone is ignored. See http://tasvideos.org/MovieRules.html#JVsU "Keep in mind that time gained solely through basic ROM differences will be discounted for the purpose of comparison. This includes: time gained through shorter cutscene text and speech boxes due to Japanese writing being more compact; differences in title screen, cutscenes, and menus (unless menus are the game's main control interface). " ((Note that if one wishes to be pedantic about the TASVideos.org rules, this applies to J vs U only, and not to E (PAL)))

Considering all that this site has fubar'd in the recent past I take little faith in getting any results from any discussions had, which is why I haven't participated.

The waiting on blast mask definitely is a detractor (STT climb being nearly 15 minutes is a major flaw entertainmentwise plus there's other blast mask hovers that take a bit of time too) but I still think this has just enough merit for Moons. Though it is very, very close to the bottom of what I'd personally consider Moons tier - the rest of the run being as good as it is is what raises this up. From a technological standpoint this is beautiful.

Considering, at the moment, it only works with TPHD, very, very unlikely.
