Exactly. You understood perfectly.
Do you want a Green Lantern ring with that? What you are effectively asking is that every game studio across the planet drop what they are doing, dig up all of their old projects, read the code for all of those old projects, figure out where best to implement VR code into those old projects [without fixing known bugs], and then release those old projects with brand new VR support, probably for free because you're not going to pay for a thing when you can use a readily available VR driver off of the internet, just because you want them to. Nobody is going to do that. Zero studios, zero people.

So... it sounds a lot like you're talking about Doom. Or, to be more generic, Generic First Person Shooter. In Generic First Person Shooter, the game that actually exists, "looking around independently of where you are aiming has not been coded into the game," yet this is what you want. A thing that doesn't exist in the game ... in the game. Which you expect developers to jump out of their seats and make for you, right now, because you want it. Ignoring the fact that these people have jobs, are paid to work on actual projects that exist, and are generally under the thumb of someone higher up that reminds these developers that they have to work on actual projects that exist (and also these six bugs in the database, by Friday, please), and you expect them to do so in a world where releases are frequently late, frequently rushed, frequently buggy, and frequently underappreciated. On behalf of the developer community, "We'll get right on that."

One of the core tenets of being a developer (and, I apologize to any other developers in the thread who will want to lynch me for sharing this trade secret) is that you don't re-do work that's already been done properly. If this third party driver does exactly what is necessary for older games to work with VR in the most basic capacity, there's no need for a team of developers to implement it for each individual and ancient game, knowing that they won't be paid for the task, and that they have more important things to do.

#5035: TASeditor's A2600 FlapPing in 00:00.05's rejection message suggests that a movie file submitted that relies on emulation bugs should be rejected, implying that this should also be rejected and a new attempt should be made once 1.11.7 is released.

But the question says (ambiguously, I suppose) "You hate the crust so much that you’ll only eat the portion of the sandwich that is closer to its center than to its edges", which suggests to me that your graphical interpretation is correct, Flip. Anything closer to the crust than (r/2, r/2) is "closer to an edge than the center" so you get that smaller square that is 1/4 the area of the sandwich. Which suggests to me that the more general case is that you get to eat 1/n of an n-sided sandwich.

Given that you have mid-frame resetting going on, is there a combination of items that you could use from the start of the game to corrupt better items into your inventory? Specifically the four items that would let you end the game?

I feel that all of the information you're likely to get about your run has been provided to you at this point. There's no real way to assess whether your current input file will sync or run on the (U) version of the ROM, and if it does, you can look for optimizations once that happens.

The major difference between cancelling a submission (yourself) and having it rejected (by a judge) is that one of them is voluntary, and one happens under intense scrutiny.

And nobody has the time to do a full site redesign at the moment. You wanted to know how to get to the page which lets you upload WIPs, that's how you get to it without using the site's search functionality. Again, this isn't the place to discuss upgrading the website.

Shouldn't this read, "If the audience deems a run not entertaining, but the judge deems it publishable, then it goes to Vault?" Pertaining to the topic at hand, I am not sure that Moons/Vault is the best way to present runs to viewers, but by the same token, Moons/Vault provides a baseline standard regarding goal choice that is applicable to most (if not all) publishable games. There is a part of me that is intrigued by the notion of having a more game-based system, but that opens up the door to all sorts of niche categories that fewer people are likely to be interested in, which, in my opinion, dilutes the purpose of the site (providing fastest known technically possible game completion).

The character stops moving for no apparent reason from time (1:21) to time (1:31), and the game seems to be "run right and jump and blow smoke" to victory, with really annoying sound effects. I can't comment on the optimization but I can say that this game bored me. Voting 'meh'.

False. By having every other player win nine games and tie a second game, the player you specify (who ties all of their games) can be in a 21-way tie for first place.

Your script is working for me. Remember that it only displays that information if Diddy is the active character, not Donkey. Also, I would recommend using a colon instead of a dash to separate your text from your value, as speed goes negative when traveling left.

I respect wanting to bring the discussion around to sexism in general, but can you please either start another topic, or get back on track here?

You're right. Anyone who wants to continue to discuss the wage gap can do so in the split-off thread.

The census year cited in your video is 1978, and Mr. Sowell says that his research is limited to "the academic world". Further, he is pointing out quite effectively that women are required to take time away from their careers in order to "raise children" and "get married", detracting from a man and a woman "with the same number of years of experience, with the same continuous service, et cetera, et cetera" being likely to exist. Finally, the clip ends with Mr. Sowell claiming that women "do not work fulltime to the same extent as men", and by extension that women "are part-time workers". Your argument would hold more water if it came from a more recent source, and had more modern arguments.

Just to clarify, when you load your movie in read-write mode and load your state, if you click File -> Movie, is the lock icon on 'Read Only' highlighted, or un-highlighted? If it is highlighted, then your movie is still in read-only mode and un-checking it (Q by default) should toggle that state. Further, BizHawk will display, "Movie read+write mode" if you can now continue to write your movie, or "Movie read-only mode" if you cannot.
