Excellent new TAS, SL! I FAed through most of it and I can't see any room for improvement, except for BitS, too bad that screws up the elevator position...

My short term memory sucks, and I don't remember if this was asked/answered: Has the final elevator in BitS been tested to see if a BLJ is quicker than jumping along the edge of the wind platform?

Awesome WIP! JRB is the most boring level in the game imo, and it was still damn entertaining.

I think a ingame time run is pointless. Focus on the fastest movie time. I'm not saying it won't be entertaining, but it's a waste of time that could be used on a 100% run.

A 100% run would be awesome. It would be really hard to make though. But if anyone takes on the challenge, I'll watch it for sure when it's done.

It also did not work for me either, the entire *LLLLOOOOOONNNNGGG* intro played perfect and as soon as Banjo can start playing the screen went black, and I can hear Banjo doing the actions as I played them. I also think that, besides upgrading the compatability, the many games that experience frequent desynchs get solved with a new Mupen patch. I guarantee N64 TASing will REALLY pick up once that hurdle is fixed.
I tried it and it worked fine. Jabo's.

First "update": Again, if people don't like this idea, I won't do it anymore. It just seems better than nothing and cooler than just saying "x stars, in level Y."
How much faster do you think it will be than the old run? Really looking forward to this :D

Well, you'd need to actually have an account. It's the japanese equivalent of youtube except the videos aren't full of macroblocks and the sound isn't crushed to 16kbps or whatever youtube does to make its uploads look and sound really bad. Although whoever made this particular recording has a weird echo going on. Anyway, I ripped the flash video from the page, so if you can play .flv's (VLC plays them fine), here it is.
The link is broken. Can you reupload the file? btw, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QfIYpJknns 0:53.. wut

You vs Boo mode is ridiclously hard, it'd make a good speedrun.
Not really, I have unlocked all the black Boos, and I beat one of them. I don't think it's that suited for a TAS.

I've been a fan of TAS videos for a long time. A few weeks ago I started experimenting with Mupen64, and I've made a few short videos now. It's great fun. I really want to start a serious project. I only know the basics about TASing though, and I don't know much about this game. I've 100% completed it a long time ago, but I haven't played it for years. If I start the run, I'm going to need a lot of help route planning. I'm playing around on the first level now. The game runs at 30 fps with Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5.2, but it slows down to 17-20 fps in some rooms. May just be my crappy comp :/ I made a WIP of the first token now, but it keeps desynching >_> I played the m64 two times, and it desynched at different places >_>

I've finally finished the Deku Tree. In total, I'm 28.7 seconds faster than Comicalflop/Guano. Before you watch, a few notes... * I tried the ladder zip. I can't get it to work, as can nobody, and I don't care enough to spend hours trying to replicate it. * Climbing all the way up the vine was faster than getting hit by the skulltula. * I hit the skulltula with the sword because it also boosted Link forwards quite a bit, which was ultimately faster. * On hitting the web, rather than doing a small jump off of it, I just let him fall, then guided him onto the skulltula on the vine. This was 3 frames faster than doing a small jump. * I used a new route for getting to the scrub room. Ended up being 1.5 seconds faster. * It's also faster to not slash the sword so you bounce off the wall. It's faster to just let him fall in normally and climb onto land. * I killed the scrubs with different nuts from what are normally used. Not only does it look ten times cooler, but it's considerably faster too. With that said, here's the m64: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1013133397/OoT%20SL%20Deku%20Tree.m64 I've tested it from the start, and it's in sync, provided you use the same plugins that I did. I've encoded the tree section of the run for those of us who can't run mupen or experience a desynch for some reason. I've also got a video of my rupee route, which I haven't posted here before, so here are both of them. Rupee route: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mTims1T-sW8 Deku Tree: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=AcYPTBLRnm8 I haven't included stuff like getting from the store to the tree because it's quite dull.
Desynced when he got the sword >.> Meh, didn't see the Youtube links.

I don't know if this is helpful In Project64 it's possible to simulate CC, by loading another game and then loading a save state from MM. Didn't seem to work in Mupen (it won't load the save state) Does anyone know if it's possible in Mupen? If it was, you could use it to get past Mido, etc Some CC tricks: http://www.jaytheham.com/zc/oot.php?page=ootcc

Because it's a question about Snes9x : P Thanks for answering so fast, but I've tried that. I can't find the hotkey settings. What's wrong? I have Snes9x 1.43, downloaded from the official site.

Is there any way to hide the TAS input plugin 0.6 window, other than dragging the window down to the bottom of the screen?

To play the movie without downloading the AVI, follow these steps. 1. Download the Direct64 plugin v0.5.03.25 from http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=26677 2. Download the TAS input plugin from http://tasvideos.org/forum/t/4200 3. Go to your mupen's root directory. -- Delete romsettings.ini there if it exists -- Delete mupen64.cfg there if it exists (do not delete mupen64.ini however) -- Extract the two plugins into the "plugin" directory. -- Remove everything that is in the "save" directory. 4. Launch mupen64 5. Go to Options|Settings, select the following plugins: -- Video plugin: Direct64 v0.5.03.25 -- Input plugin: TAS Input Plugin 0.6 -- Audio plugin: Jabo's DirectSound 1.6 -- RSP plugin: RSP emulation Plugin 6. Click the Config button under Video plugin -- Ensure both "N64 Color" and "N64 Depth Image" are set to "Ignore" -- Check "Enable fog", do not check "Simulate Overscan" -- Settings in "Enhancement" may be left as is 7. Load ROM 8. Load movie 9. Once it desyncs (inputs "AA" on name entry screen), load the movie again. (Yes, this is necessary.) Enjoy. If you need to interrupt the movie for some reason, remove the file in the "save" directory and restart from step 7. If these instructions don't help, then the instructions that worked for me don't work for you and I am unable to help further. Thanks to Raiscan for resolving many of these issues.
ty!!!! you saved me =D one question, how do i go into full screen mode in mupen64?
