People tend to encode there own videos now instead of editing out disclaimers in existing videos.

Awesome WIP! JRB is the most boring level in the game imo, and it was still damn entertaining.

in the beginning, you just jump up. a normal jump. but then roll out of it like you did an A+B jump. how the hell do you do that and isnt that slower? oh and in the first bowser stage (im not that good with the stage-names) jou repeatedly jump on the elevator (this turning wheel thing) before you jump down to perform the BLJ. why?

It has been proven to be the fastest way of acceleration. quote="Phallosvogel"]oh and in the first bowser stage (im not that good with the stage-names) jou repeatedly jump on the elevator (this turning wheel thing) before you jump down to perform the BLJ. why?[/quote] Because the elevator isn't lined up properly when Mario gets there.

Because the elevator isn't lined up properly when Mario gets there.
And because it looks cooler than just walking into the right position. ;)

Nope, it's impossible to wall kick off an invisible wall. Even if Mario could, the angle would be all wrong.
I've jumped off many an invisible wall, including that specific one. An easy one is the invisible wall past the trapdoor to bowser 1. But looking at it again, it probably wouldn't work because it's a bad angle.

Would you be able to make a video of you doing that?

Thanks for the WIP, that was awesome! Lots of improvements I can see compare to the existing 120 stars run. Definitely looking forward to the 120 stars run when it's released.

Very enjoyable to watch. I really don't see any space of improvement according to my knowledge.

As Filimonas said, the run appears to be optimized so far. Great job RobZ :-) Hey, this guy on youtube wants to learn how to TAS and I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to help him. Thanks, Myles

My short term memory sucks, and I don't remember if this was asked/answered: Has the final elevator in BitS been tested to see if a BLJ is quicker than jumping along the edge of the wind platform?

Please excuse me if someone's already tried/done this. About the 3 cccless stars in CCM, theres a sign right off of the house for slip slidin away and Big penguin race, Is it possible to blj on? or blj through the chimney on the slightly slanted roof? I can't do either because i can only barely blj the 50-star door and endless staircase, and i don't have a good enough video card for mupen. Will someone try this for me?

It's slower, to answer your question bkDJ.

I think its actually slightly faster for people in 70 star runs and 120 star runs to forward long jump up the 50 star door staircase and the "endless" staircase because i timed it at being maybe a second faster than walking on the endless staircase and maybe half a second on the 50 star door. This may be wrong because i may have made a mistake but please experiment with it. Edit: Only for non-tas because this would obviously be less effective then a perfectly executed blj

That may be the case if you've already unlocked the 50 star door. But there sure is a huge difference between going up the stairs (longjumping or not) and having to "show the star" to make the door pop open and just rushing through it like maniac without using the star.

ah, yes so only for the endless staircase or possibly blj that and manipulate it to go directly into bitS

It's still obviously faster to BLJ into both when done optimally...

Excellent new TAS, SL! I FAed through most of it and I can't see any room for improvement, except for BitS, too bad that screws up the elevator position...

yeah, great tas, SL! i have an idea for BitS, but i'm not very good at describing things. i'll try to put a video on youtube that shows my idea, soon.

no, not yet. it should be, but they have to be fair and put the tas through the same process as every other tas. speaking of which, when was the tas submitted to tasvideos?

Yeah, the same process that the new SMB1 run had to go through, obviously. Also, fyi, I think it was submitted on the 18th at 2am-ish GMT.
<adelikat> I am annoyed at my irc statements ending up in forums & sigs
