in the first section of the final dungeon in the game i took a different route to douse a flame and then go back to the city:
still i dont think player points are needed for such minimal work, i understand the rules allow for that but i rather have my name in my own work as i didn't find the skip myself and it's the TASers work that allows me make this insertion of inputs, i don't have the skill to TAS a lenghty RPG like this one

I think there are some interesting points here:
TASvideos needs the curated approach because people spam low quality stuff
I believe Self-Regulating communities or maybe Mods/Judges for specific games could be implemented to alleviate work from judges, and for dead game communities we still need the general judges even though. As more TASers of a specific game appear, you can make the judging faster by making former TASers or maybe speedrunners participate in the judging process. Let's invite the players of these communities to judge in solidarity maybe?
Right now, I completely get it. I really fucking hate how all feedback is on Discord, and the forums, the one place you can still search for shit, is like a ghost town. It's demoralizing as hell, but at the same time I'm not sure how to fix it. I really don't want the site to die, since there's no place else that I can upload input files that I know for certain will sync back and replay. I really fucking hate how other speedrun communities just post glitches on discord, linking to a dead twitch link, with literally 0 information on how to reproduce. That really kills me even more than 0 feedback. I had to spend hours, sometimes months replicating things others already found, because the only information of it was on Discord/Twitch.
And even on said discord/twitch, I get 0 feedback anyways. I got burnt out from TASing multiple times like this, yet every single time I eventually come back because I really want to see a run of a game I like, and there's no where to share input files that others can reproduce.
This is basically my experience with almost everything i TASed and it's aggravated by the verification movie debacle and bizarre rulesets which tell me what is and isn't valid in the dead game I put my time into. Nowadays i want to help Judges get through the stuff faster but I don't want be part of the Staff because you prioritize site rules to the game's communities rules and judgements. All accomodations are RULE BREAKING and will effectively stop people from publishing pikmin 2, mario kart TASes and so on.

is it faster to get ok rating? i dont really get the point of doing badly in the games, sorry i dont know the series, but after that paper part it gets interesting, i just dont get why should you make less points a as a goal unless it allows to move to the next minigame faster or something

battle network 1 has a game end skip glitch that was discovered after the TAS was made, would it be fair to just insert the game end skip and submit the old TAS with the glitch inserted at the end?
would the old player that made the TAS need to approve using his moviefile?
https://tasvideos.org/1560M
im talking about reddit skip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR8xpDOfeLs
it always bothered me how easy it would be to insert this at the end of the TAS

fsvgm777: Just a quick note, the verification movie relies on a clean save file that's already present (i.e. you have to run the game once to generate it).
Anyways, processing.

Superman Shadow of Apokolips GAMECUBE has 3 difficulties, in case me or someone else decides to TAS this, can I go for the unlockable Very Hard difficulty? Otherwise gotta stick to the Hard default one..

With the newer tricks, it will be interesting to see if RTA can be beaten despite difficulty difference!

I personally believe easier tools for laymen to help with publishing would be the most immediate endeavor you could use to multiply the number of publishers, as they're the fewest.

i found some relevant glitches:
Link to video
there are also some laser barrier skips
Link to video
Unfinished Business fight exploit:
https://youtu.be/LwtiMjgP4Mc
Cars can be used to consistently knockdown Parasite in real time and for TAS should be even better, sometimes cars do double damage, hit multiple times
Link to video
Livewire second phase can be combo'd repeatedly into the water jets from the ceiling but it's immune to multiple knockdowns from the water pool

As a "victim" of the rules, I understand the feeling you're trying to convey here, but I don't have any great suggestion or alternative, maybe if we could have like smaller judges to help with the judging process for some games. Like I said in another topics, speedrun communities should be a reference when judging. Maybe some grouping of the TASes for a specific game instead of just the TAS itself.
Example: I'd help to judge fighting games as it's the genre I have the most experience here. I still feel it would take a lot of work for Publishers if judgement process started being faster but I don't feel this is a reason not to speed up judging somehow. Or maybe keep the same judges and use other players as reference for help with judging faster.
Another possibility: peeps wont be able to find my many moviefile tests for Digimon Rumble Arena 2 to see faster completion with the other characters unless they go to the forum thread, Games by themselves could be TAS Archives, some of the moviefiles being published and others not but still properly archived.
Very provocative title, it really got my attention lol Dante from DMC SERIES must die.

This was a bit more interesting to watch for me than most fighting game TASes, but this also came with some confusion. It was difficult to track what was going on sometimes, and also why certain choices were being made. Why wait here and not there? How exactly does the teleportation mechanic work, is there a good reason it wasn't being used in certain places? It just didn't quite come together for me as a viewer.
i said this on the other post, the teleport tracks enemy targets randomly, but if already tracked one enemy it will teleport away if there are no targets, in some stages it literally teleports into dangerous places for no good reason and it could kill me in casual play lol the stages at 2:55 and 6:00 are the better examples of the risk. and you have a clearer example of the teleport behavior in general in the first fight because there's only 1 target

That's the thing, you could consider each run towards an individual boss a category for this game, since in order to reach a boss you have to fight more or less enemies. Malomyotismon is supposed to be the hardest because of the sheer number of enemies you have to fight and it almost certainlt is the longest. You can't really know which is the longest per se since I didn't try TASing every single boss route. Neemons is supposed to be the fastest, but the fastest could very well be the icestage under neemon in the path selection. Neemon route is more predictable so the speedrun takes that as the fastest route.
Similar game which has the same problem when choosing categories is Shadow the hedgehog, another game that is very similar is the megaman power fighters or power battle games, I tried to pick the most distinct routes to showcase completely different strats for this game since Veemon destroys 1vs1 fights, Duskmon is an insane unlockable and Gabumon with the ohko glitch is better for longer fights even though he's no Duskmon
