I've got too much love for this game. Regarding the Fairy Feet glitch, I've tried to achieve as much as I could yesterday evening, on Switch NES app (so US version of the game). I've done that for about 2 hours and a half, and got it like... 20 times maybe? I recorded the first ones but didn't actually count each one when I started being - slightly - more constant. My goal was mainly to see how much viable this could be in real time, and I have to admit it's so hard and precise that I don't think it's viable outside of TAS. Unless we can maybe find a setup to ensure we reach the right sub-pixel? Here's one of the recordings: https://twitter.com/Link_enfant/status/1238238762968027136?s=20 I haven't uploaded other ones yet, but feel free to let me know if that can be useful as a reference to anyone. I always switched sides to try the glitch both from the right and left of that forced encounter, so I have various recordings of both; sometimes with slashes to help stop my momentum, sometimes by just moving and no slashes. Sadly I don't have proper recording stuff so I'm currently stuck with Switch's internal feature which only produce 30fps video clips but well.

I didn't expect that, that's so insane. Congrats MrWint! By the way I'd like to play this movie on emulator, I've downloaded the right version of lsnes but how do I use it to play this movie exactly? I don't have much knowledge in advanced emulators like this one.

Hey guys :) I'd like to have some help for DK64 on PJ64. It isn't about TASing or anything, I just want to play through the game again in better conditions than on my original N64 (with HD and such), my computer isn't that bad but the game has some issues while playing, such as music lag and some little glitches sometimes. I've read it could be played perfectly on PJ64 with good plugins and configuration, but what are they ? I'd like to play the PAL or the US version, I just want it to run like it's supposed to. Thanks for the help =) (btw, by playing through the whole game again, I could try to give you some help even if I'm not really involved into making TASes. I hope it will be playable on Mupen64 soon !)

Does anyone know what is the hotkey to go to the next frame, once you've started the frame stepping mode ? Thanks :)

You guys do a really great job on 88Mph, as I said in a comment on the Super Metroid run :) I'm also French just like RealMyop =p A new episode on a Castlevania run , or maybe the new Megman Zero run would be very cool in my opinion. Keep up the good work ;) EDIT Here a new video from 88Mph, on Donkey Kong Country 2 :) => http://nes.over-blog.fr/ (first video at the moment)

When using the AR frame by frame code, there are several problems : - I don't know how to take the frame by frame video to make it full speed, this seem so much hard - There is no game sound when doing this - You need to play from the debug menu, and so there is no damage decay. Damage decay is the fact that using the same move again and again do less %. It doesn't happen when playing with the debug menu, so playing HRC (for example) don't really show how far it would go on a real run (because of more %). With a frame by frame feature (and of course re-record, and so on) in the emulator, all of those problems are solved, and I could make great videos and stuff, that's what I want to do :)

My computer: Packard Bell AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3700+ 2.19 GHz single core 1GB RAM Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series Windows XP 32 bit Service Pack 3 I only tried SSBM (PAL version) on the lastest version of the emulator, Dolphin SVN Build 2536. I get about 50 FPS in menus (well, looks like full speed), and about 20 FPS in-game. The game runs well (no sound issues or anything else) and smoothly, this is only more or less slow depending where I play. It was a bit faster on the Great Bay stage, about 25 FPS :) The keyboard doesn't work on Dolphin, but I've ordered a USb adapter for GCN/PS2/Xbox controllers, hope that will work. Is there any TAS feature available yet for Dolphin ? I asked JPleal10 on youtube about that (since he made TAS videos on SSBM), but no answer yet...

I see :) Well, I'm already able to play the game, even if it runs slowly. The most important thing I need is a good pad, or an adapter for a GC controller . I don't know why, but I can't use the keyboard :s I think I'll ask this on the Dolphin-emu forum ^^

Hi there :) I'd like to know exactly what are the files needed to make TAS possible on a GameCube game ? And also, which emulator and how to configure it ? ^^ I'm one of the best Home-Run Contest players in France on SSBM, and I'd like to make TAS videos on this mode thanks to my knowledge of the characters and of the strats. Thanks a lot ;) ! (I've already got the game iso)

I've watched the lastest Julius TAS and it's really amazing, but I'd like to know why does he need to fight the Headhunter boss ? Why can't it be skipped ? Thanks =)

What about making a non-glitch run ? I mean, without using the "any magic with two cards" glich at all. I think it would be very fun to see. The boss battles would be more interesting to watch since they wouldn't die after one hit (or a few hits for the later bosses). I cant' make TASs but I wanted to know if anyone had already worked on that or not :)

That was really, really amazing. Awesome job Mukki :) Actually, I enjoyed Majora's Mask more than Ocarina of Time, and same for the TAS. Definitely yes !

If someone would like to try something that may only happen on a real Super Famicom (not Super Nintendo because I don't have the PAL version), he can ask me, I can try anything since I got the game ^^ (and I hope it doesn't hurt the cartridge, it's in excellent condition)

I've just looked many sites and forums about that. I'm lucky, since the PAL Snes power supply adaptor is 100% compatible with the Super Famicom. On each site and forum where I saw that, nothing was mentionned about some problems that cold happen when playing. Thanks to you I tried to find some information and I know what to do. If you hadn't asked me about it, I would have used the japanese power supply adaptor and my Super Famicom would have instantly died XD Thank you =)

I don't think so... Most TVs support 60htz format, and there is not any problem on recent games which can be played on 60htz. The electri outlets shouldn't be a problem too ^^

? You can play japan game on NTCS snes...
Actually, I'm French and have an european (so PAL) Snes. I can't play Super Metroid jap even with my universal adaptor because the game has a "second protection" which prevents the game to be played in 60htz on a PAL console. After the Nintendo logo, a message appears (with a real mistake in it) : "Your game pak is not desigined for your SUPER FAMICOM or SUPER NINTENDO. Nintendo". Only a few games have such a protection against universal adaptors. Since I don't want to make changes on my console to play my Super Metroid (even if there is not real compatibility problems once it's done), I decided it would be better to order a Super Famicom (not very expensive =)) to ressolve all my problems. With 2 Snes and a universal adaptator, I don't think I wall have any problems to play my games, even if they are japanese or american versions :) (and sorry again for the mistakes, my english is far from being perfect ^^')

In my opinion, those ideas just came from Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission. Drewseph thought it would be better to incrase the gravity effect just like in the more recent 2D Metroid games, to include the "multi spinning" jump and also some good abilities once you get the high jump.

Nice pic hero of the day (I'm so waiting for SSBB !) ^^ Finally, I'm going to get a complete and japanese version of Super Metroid for my Snes =D I know it's "hard" to TAS on a real console, but I will be able to try some regular runs and if I can do some nice stuff, I will post everything (which I think to be at least useful or interessant) here :)
