However, splitting the screen in four pieces can produce controversy since some people including me don't like several sound effects or musics all at once. I'm referring to the Megaman Quadrupel run.

Dragonfly and me already finished some levels but we suffer lack of motivation. Oh well... (I have to ask him before posting a WIP)

Well, they mostly are poor and short test levels and aren't official. I'll watch your movie sometime though...

SSBM. I play as Falco, CF and Young Link. Sometimes also as Fox and Ness.

If you want to check what's faster, you'll have to check memory addresses. As far as I tested, it isn't faster to jump all the time.
like in the GBA games, avoiding the floor is a faster way of transportation
This hasn't to do with a specific console but with how a specific game works. There are GBA games in which jumping is slower. You wondered why you're 46 frames behind. - You stopped at frame 500 for no reason. - Maybe you did a bad job at lag reduction and optimization.

If I had pressed A, I'd have jumped too high which would have resulted in a time loss. I may check your problem with the HP addresses. I only need to know which bosses you want to know the HP from. Btw, Floogal posted a guide of the US-version on page 3 or 4. However, there are differences between the versions. Either Kirby makes more damage in the JPN-version or bosses are weaker, but maybe it's of any use for you ... Currently, I'm improving my WIP since I noticed a flaw in it.

An "hit everything that can be destroyed"-run could be awesome.

girfanatic, bosses shouldn't be too much of a problem.^^ When you use wheel a boss fight isn't longer than 15 sec if you optimize the battle. But getting rid of your mobility ability in order to get a good ability for a battle means you don't have a mobility ability afterwards. Right now, it's looking good. I'm in Olive Ocean now. The mainland part is done. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/933529051/MUGG-KAM%20v3%2C100.vbm I can mix an ability in room 9, either Missile or UFO. UFO can be used to skip a part in the next room and get the treasure. It's really slow though, but I don't know another way of getting the treasure. Suggestions? E: Maybe I could ignore the treasure and come back from the Switch Room later. E2: I rememberred how I did it in an older WIP. I grabbed UFO, skipped part of the next room and in the Switch Room I got Missile.^^ Then there are three paths.
  • Upper route (Rooms 26, 27, 28 included) - Missile preferred. Will bring ice ability in its end.
  • Middle route - Wheel preferred. I'll probably L-warp out of this route at room 23.
  • Lower route - Since there are rooms which only consist of water, no ability is of any use here actually. Stone or Hammer will be preferred since there's a peg, but I could also mix it. This route will end at the shark boss. Will bring hammer/smash/stone/parasol ability in its end.

I know exactly which room you're talking about. There's a peg in the room after the switch. You climb up the floor and near the end, turn to the left and hit a peg. But since you need to get it in room 3 anyways to get to room 4, you might as well continue to carry it from that point until you bust the peg. I don't know offhand if you can mix anything for something better for Flan Flan, but stone works pretty good against him.
Do you know about uses for stone ability (= pegs) in other places? I'm certain stone ability can be useful somewhere. Right now, the project stagnates... Luck-manipulation in KATAM is hard! What you do in a room will determine what's the enemy behavour 3 rooms after. This is also why I can't improve the any% run right now...

http://kirby.classicgaming.gamespy.com/games/mirror/maps/cc.html Check room 11 and 6. Also, please cut the off-topic chatter. Every other post in this thread is written by you and I can't really benefit from posts like these... Instead you can always PM me. ;)

Argh! Now that I have stone ability but can't use it now I'd have to get rid of it. There are some sections where I could have used it later... (Like the room after the Candy Constellation Switch). Looks like I'll skip the "masterhand -> Moonlight Mansion"-part for later...

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/944158252/MUGG-KAM%20v3%2C100.vbm Making the kirbys inhale big blocks or the fact that you can stand on them or must do so in order to get under them really annoyed me. Please someone tell me if it looks good as it is now... I'll probably go to the Ocean part or somewhere now. Ideas concerning the route are welcome.

Getting wheel, fighting boss with it and getting a new wheel afterwards is about 100 frames faster than using stone according to my testings. Anyway, here's a new version. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/489010575/MUGG-KAM%20v3%2C100.vbm (I'll probably go back and improve the part with the underwater cave treasure as it looks improvable) I can't figure out how to make the kirbys inhale big blocks...

I think a multi-player run should be seperately categorized. Also, I don't think getting missile ability before Moonlight Mansion and backtracking after the switch after Mr. Frosty would be a good idea considering you could just continue and kill the boss (with wheel) and come back some time later when you have unlocked the missile pedestal of Olive Ocean Switch 1. At least I'd avoid such a backtracking situation and hope for a chance that you have missile equipped and warp out of one of the many dead ends - then you can go back to the Moon Light switch. I'm working on it.

I picked up some game today and TAS'd it just for the purpose of seeing how it may look afterwards. But it looks cooler than I expected. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1216435356/kungfu%20master%20gb%20tas.vbm Completion Time: 3:51.65 VBA 1.7.2 Re-recording 19.3 ROM name: Kung-Fu Master (U) I found a way to zip through a wall in the fourth level. There are some entertainment/speed tradeoffs (for example I need one frame to turn around to kick enemies behind me). Tell me what you guys think.

- Apparently, if one of the helpers is somewhere else and has the Magic ability, and your Kirby has no ability, it might randomly give YOUR kirby the mix. Perhaps you could luck-abuse this to seemingly get whatever power you need out of the blue?
Like this? http://youtube.com/watch?v=-z3xpfASqqY It'd be cool to know what mechanisms make that happen (buddy Kirby gets magic, gives everyone mix) so that one can luck-manipulate it. I myself can't, I suck at memory watching...
- At one point in the run, you need to call your helper kirbys to inhale a large grey block -- or do you? In Mustard Mountain, there are 2 large grey blocks that can be knocked into the flow of a lava wall by repeatedly hitting the ground with Stone/Hammer -- does this work on the third grey block that impedes access to a treasure chest?
Does work with sword and Burning into the wall as well. But the grey block will afaik ALWAYS go to the left.

You'll need to create a walkthrough. I made a map (it's not complete yet) and marked where there are 2 enemies that can be mixed, where there are grey blocks, where there are treasures... Since it's a maze after all you'll need to approach the project like this first. Also, there are some shortcuts or warpstars spread throughout the maze, so pay attention to them. Btw, it may be better you look for some easier TAS project first to gain experience from.

It was only a demonstration to show that once you are in the pillar, you can pass the DoT.

1. You should take a look at the new WIPs I posted. Keep your WIPs in high quality technical-wise and verify that your run is faster or equal to the newest WIPs or the current run. (Yes, that means comparing all the room times and improving. That's also why I hate to improve the current run >_>) 2. More specific: You'll have to jump all the time since this preserves the most momentum. At edges slide (down + A) so that Kirby drops off the platform just before he was about to move slower in his slide. 3. You didn't use the two enemies in the 3rd room in order to get wheel. Take a look at the newer WIPs. You may just take the newest WIP and continue from a spot before the first treasure. Btw, I have some walkthroughs if you're interested (though they're kinda mixed or loose.)
