My WIP (Spring Breeze done). I used the Ninja Kick-Cancel trick (mentioned above). Note that I've never played this game before, so help would be appreciated. Unfortunately, a frame rule seems to make it impossible to make Kirby lose his ability in the final battle, so I couldn't use it for spitting it at Dedede. Is the Spring Breeze part good the way it is?

But there's one thing I thought of... It is possible to suck in both stars generated from Dedede's jump in his battle, doing 'double' damage. Why didn't you take advantage of this?
Because there's no such option. I had also an attempt at running this game, but the movie file got corrupted for some reason and I had no motivation soon. I'll watch this run later and give my comments.. - Really nice movie. Nothing to complain in terms of saving time but I would have loved to see more shorthops over enemies (you often inhaled them). The way you reduce lag because of enemy hits also amused me. Yes vote.

What about the 'Play the Demos' Glitch? It lets you skip the intro level.

In my opinion, 100% should only be possible with games which show you the percentage OR where it's obviously '100%'. With this game, everyone has another opinion (whether collecting 255 rupees or all hearts filled should be included or the letter-thing) and things become tricky.

Now, here's my work: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1765355577/TAS%20MLSSS.vbm But I'm rather feeling uncertain... I'm not experienced enough, and don't have a route yet. Well..

http://speeddemosarchive.com/PaperMarioTTYD.html This is the unassisted Speedrun, and some techniques are explained there.

The question "Did you like watching this movie?" is somewhat invalid imo. People who are familiar with the game would rather vote yes than others. And all the movies on this site are speed-oriented ones (and a movie can be entertaining although it's no speedrun). Because the poll leads to the conclusion whether a movie should be published, the poll should be named "Should this movie be published?" imo. I voted no on this poll.

I found the beginning quite good, but then it got repetive and boring (On the whole it was just going and jumping). But there was some kind of variety and fun. So my vote is meh. Did anyone else notice the game freeze in the end?

(I don't like to write every other post in a thread so I'll sum things up here) This was what I discovered a couple of days ago: Example Here are some .vbm-s which show different events. All of these events are results of what happens when Kirby uses his Magic ability. (Used ROM: 1454 - Hoshi no Kirby Kagami no Daimeikyuu (J)(v1.1) It can be done on any version.) Sir VG however found out that this event happens because of a buddy Kirby using his Magic ability. After all, this cannot be abused really. When someone wants to improve the current run, I recommend watching the Kirby icons on the top left.

I liked it at first, but then it went after 30, 40 levels.. the sounds got annoying.. And there wasn't much variety (sprites). Meh vote.

GBA Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland has a freeze glitch as well. (Freezes in 36 sec of gameplay)

Cheat FAQ People calling TAS's cheating really should read this. It's a shame people don't ask curiously but flame TAS's to be cheating.

Chamale, I personally advise you to resubmit instead of replace because some people already voted negative because of that ending. Randil, thank you. ;)

The sprites of the game remind me of some S/NES football game I used to play as a child, but I can't remember the name.

I like the idea behind the ending but it is too long to be enjoyable. Change it and you have my yes vote.
Agreed.

100% KNID run? Doesn't sound good to me.. Wouldn't a Kirby's Adventure 100% run look better in addition to a 'Nightmare in Dreamland' any% run? @ Bag of Magic Food: The only mode that makes sense is playing as Metaknight. This could be what I do after 'Nightmare In Dreamland' ^^

I would like to discuss why a KNID TAS should be rejected just because it's too similar to its NES version "Kirby's Adventure". Wolf4Knowledge's Guide on Changes between the corresponding games The games differ much from each other, rooms got changed (one completly in accordance with the guide). Some got removed, and in each room the proportions in size are not the same as in the NES version. It's not like the Mario Advance series or NESclassics, where NES games simply got copied onto a GBA module and were sold. I'm interested in seeing your opinions about this topic =) While not having posted this topic beforehand I started a TAS. (It's hard to find the ROM (775 - Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland (U)) since 98% of all KNID USA ROMs provided on the internet are intro hacked. So I provide an .avi as well.) Movie file Avi

I'm curious if there's a normal faster form of movement, it looked like jumping, floating, and releasing a puff of air led to a significant horizontal boost
Where exactly did you notice that? Jumping/floating is like running on the ground and is slower than sliding, sliding is the fastest way to move horizontal. There is no boost after releasing a puff. You just gain your normal horizontal speed again.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/file/561703/19818 I just wanted to mention that there are some more differences than 'different musics and graphics'. The guide says that some rooms/enemies got changed.
