More a feedback than a bug: I'm suggesting that we up the timelimit on the wiki for edits to be saved from 1 minute to 2 or 3 minutes. Whenever I make an edit, I go read it again and more often than not spot a typo or missing punctuation, and have to make another edit. Since I don't want to disturb IRC, I would make that secondary edit 'minor'. But then IRC people may check for 'most recent edit' and only see the typo I fixed, not the actual edit I made. All because the timelimit isn't lenient enough. Why was it changed from 5 to 1 minutes some years ago?

adelikat said he is too busy to upload those images to the site's server at the moment. Only he or Nach could do that. If they give me a list with the new URLs, I would volunteer to replace the old URLs.

Research on audio. This is for the US version but it probably works the same in all versions.
$000910 ~ $000913 -- This location changes when brothers jump (not sure why). Can be used to make game change BGM to unused tracks probably due to a glitch.
(2D 00 06 00 sets it to unused music that hasn't been documented on tcrf yet. Not sure if those values always work.)

$000915 -- if 0x01, BGM plays. If frozen at 0x00, it's muted or hangs.

$000918 ~ $00091D -- Volume of sound channels. 0xFF means full, 0x80 means half, 0x00 means silence.
* $000919 = SFX (Most but not all)
* $00091B = BGM

$000924 -- SFX pace. 0x4B seems default. <0x4B means faster. >0x4B means slower. 0x00 = game freeze (when attempting to play music)

$000928 -- BGM pace. 0x4B seems default. <0x4B means faster. >0x4B means slower. 0x00 = game freeze (when attempting to play music)

$00092C -- ? pace.
Todo: I think there is an audio pitch address but I can't find it right now. Maybe some people will know why I did this research..... (yes, Youtube copyright claims etc.) I might add functionality relating to audio to the luascript later. I finished adding it to the script and it will be in the next version. (Although next version may be a while.. I can post my current script if there is interest though.)

Are there plans for lua to output onscreen text in user-determined font and size?

I recommend you watch darbian, current WR holder in SMB1 and still attempting to improve the time. Last I checked he basicly did walljumps in his sleep and tries for flagpole glitch in 1-1 to get a little headstart.

So is anyone working on this now? Because otherwise, I might pick it up sooner or later.

I don't know if I should humor the author who wrote a misleading or slightly disgruntling submission text by voting no, or consider that this run is quite an improvement with a reasonable level of optimization despite the submission text stating otherwise plus without any major possible improvements at the point of this writing and thus vote yes. Therefore I'm voting meh.

Nice glitches. I don't know this game well but I'm curious what else you will find So this game gives you an ability with which you can kill yourself, even indoors?

- We should just accept it if some images get deleted (Yes, that was correct.)
No, we shouldn't.
- If you were here 2 years ago when the incident first occurred and you actually still had the images on hand back then on your computer it's your fault if you deleted it between then and now.
First, even if the page editor is at fault and didn't save his images, why should that be a reason to present the site visitor with broken/deleted images? Second, what if the page editor lost images due to computer or hard drive failure? (That's precisely what happened in my case.) Even if I could retrieve deleted images from my hard drive, I'd still have to go through the trouble of a) checking and realizing if images have been deleted to begin with and b) replacing them. Those two steps cause a lot of work. It took me like 2~3 hours to compile the list above. Nobody would need to check for broken images if we simply uploaded them to TASvideos' servers.
- I can't even do that to begin with, so there's no point for me to do anything about it. - Not my problem.
Can't do what, upload images? Care? Thanks for being very helpful. (/sarcasm)

<mugg3>	I would like to be safe than sorry
<SpikeyMuffin>	It's your own fault for using imageshack
<mugg3>	and what do you tell people that used photobucket?
<SpikeyMuffin>	It's your own fault for using photobucket
<mugg3>	and people other than me have used it on the game resource pages
<SpikeyMuffin>	etc. etc.
<mugg3>	short story: give me rights to upload to the server + I will do the cleanup
<SpikeyMuffin>	Same thing happened with people's avatars. Some were recovered.
<mugg3>	some but not all?
<SpikeyMuffin>	others, deleted.
<mugg3>	I want something that will last for more than 2 years
<SpikeyMuffin>	Which is why if you wanted to complain about *that*, you'd complain about it 2 years ago.
<mugg3>	spikeymuffin if you want you can post your thoughts on the topic so more people can see your standpoint
<SpikeyMuffin>	mugg3: I'm lazy tho.
So your additional points are: - We should just accept it if some images get deleted - You are too lazy to care

VBA-rr 1.7.2 and 1.8 are stone age old. I haven't heard of those since 2008. VBA-rr 19~23, I'm not sure if those are still supported. I'm under the impression they have emulation inferior to VBA 24m's (so we could probably safely deprecate those versions). Do those versions have the exploit? Oh I see now. ALL versions have that problem.

I briefly skimmed through some of the linked pages above again and it looks like nothing has been done about images that are hosted externally. Nobody even removed the content that was lost. If nobody does anything, then I might as well do it myself. But I need the ability to upload images to tasvideos' server. How can I receive it? EDIT:
<SpikeyMuffin> mugg3: http://archive.org/
<SpikeyMuffin> mugg3: waybackmachine
This is not a sufficient solution. Sometimes images cannot be retrieved. Additionally you have to manually check each page regularly to make sure the images are intact since broken images don't fix themselves via waybackmachine. Please do something to make the wiki a better place that will last for more than 2 years.

Back when I made the TAS, I didn't know this game too well. Now that I take another look here is some stuff I found: It seems that pretty much every level has a "Wing" upgrade that allows your mech to fly above the level for about 10 seconds or so, although at the cost of some X-speed. This might come in handy in some places to overcome walls, or to get a good shot at a boss etc. Or in level 5 to reach the secret exit faster. It seems you can carry over Wing items across levels. In level 4, at the first wall, you can actually use an arrow to skip it. There is only one tile (the one I aim at in the pic) that can be arrowed, so it's something the devs put in deliberately. Not sure if faster to shoot the wall or to arrow across it. It might also be possible to arrow at other seemingly un-arrow-able places. Maybe more to come later. Oh also, if I didn't document it here yet: There are some cave entrances or castle entrances in this game. It seems they are only for aesthetic effect, but I had edited level camera position(I think?) and it allowed me to see a room that was filled with enemies that didn't appear anywhere in the normal level. So maybe at some point in development you were able to enter such entrances and it was later cut from the game. Needs more looking into if you want to put that on TCRF. EDIT: Oh, actually turns out the entrance in level 6 that you can shoot open (at a castle) and the caves in level 3, you can press Down to use those entrances as a shortcut. But from the looks of it, it's slower than moving on normally. Maybe I was wrong about stuff being cut from the game then. EDIT: Looks like the level 9 bug emulates differently in Bizhawk-Gambatte. It's kind of the same, but much more prone to crashing and there is more variety in the glitch effects that can occur. Too bad the bug is in the last level, otherwise there would have been ACE potential. EDIT:
$C5F5 - Current level
        00~08 represent levels 1 to 9
        09 is ending sequence

List of bugs found in Youtube videos: "Entering station" bug (RT1, RT2) If a train touches the station but is pulled out by gravity or chainlifts, it may leave the station and travel the other way while still in "entering station" status. This causes the train to travel through the track at constant slow speed, even uphill. If a train in such status reaches the end of a track, instead of falling off it will switch to "moving to end of station" status and move forward again until it reaches the end of a station. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0jru_0LdFk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZqw6Jgi5pU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVgKUoEvFjo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75exTABPQSo Train physics bug (RT1, RT2) Under certain circumstances, a train may gain more speed than should be possible when travelling across hills. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdzOKB7fZOM Dinky Park road bug (RT1) After buying construction rights, it is possible to delete or interact with part of the road outside the park. Observation tower bug (RT1) I'm not sure on the details of this bug since the Youtuber didn't put a good description. But it seems to be a graphical bug or attraction softlock bug that happens when building a too low tower. It is said this can happen with other tower attractions too (Whoa Belly, Roto-Drop). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fD0aWOsL-lQ Underground entrance bug (RT1) On rare occasion, guests will not enter an attraction's entrance when the entrance is built underground. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5DKslDZmFE Boat ride bug (RT1) Lower water tiles that has a boat on it. The boat will then float in the air. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCeT3my9hIk Grass removal trick (RT1) Using the land leveler tool on tiles that have tall grass will clear the grass. Easter egg trick (RT1) There are easter eggs related to guest names, e.g. if you name a guest Chris Sawyer he will take photos, or if you name a guest Michael Schumacher, he will be extra fast when on the Go Karts ride. The trick with this is that the game will accept different capitalizations of the same name. So there can be multiple Chris Sawyers and Michael Schumachers. People falling through the ground (RT1) Lower and raise a ground tile that has guests on it to make them fall through the ground. Alternatively, have guests walk across underground path and delete the path. Guests that touch the very bottom will be deleted from the game. Station brake failure bug (RT1) When there is a station brake failure in a non-looped track and the train moves into the station at high speed, it will not crash. Whoa Belly Invisibility bug (RT1) When launching from very high terrain, the ride from a Whoa Belly will become invisible temporarily. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OPXgy-DWls Infinite money bug (RT2) When stacking platform scenery on top of each other and then building an attraction onto the scenery (while holding Shift), you may gain more money back than you invested in the scenery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00pWjlbevZg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKYJkjYGo5E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1q9uhsO9do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyaAyjqAorU Chairlift bug (RT2) Under certain circumstances, a ride on the Chairlift may accumulate speed and cause a crash while not moving at all due to the track being blocked by other rides. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuWx5CGL_Mk (OpenRT2 mod) Maybe more can be found here. I think I will do a game resource page later on, maybe with GIFs. I know this game isn't suited for speedrunning but I take an interest in glitch discoveries and documentation.

DirectX support in Vbox is experimental and not enabled by default according to Zarmakuizz (see topic linked below) which might be the reason your games fail in Hourglass. I'm not sure how to enable it. Btw, if anyone can test if my games of interest run in Hourglass or Hourglass-Resurrection, I'd appreciate it. Let me know if they work or not. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=433298#433298
