Not sure how you came to these numbers, but they're incorrect. Both walking and jumping have a max X speed of 240. EDIT: I see your lua script posted there uses RAM address 0xD82A, but that's not correct. (I don't know what that value does, and it seems to correlate somewhat with speed, but it definitely isn't speed). The correct X speed address is 0xD826. (Note how the X subpixel value adds up in correspondence to the X speed in memory. It's the same regardless of whether Mega Man is walking or jumping.)
Hmm weird. I'm going to check later.

(writing from phone) Kirby amazing mirror tases also play during credits. And it may be true this tas loses time here and there but i can easily ignore it. Ssbm has more potential for interesting tases though. Imagine 4 player tases with items

You made me read through this topic and I didn't realize until the end that the posts were from 2004...

The new episodes were super epic! What is inside the chest ?? I so want to know, but it's probably not going to be revealed for at least another season. Discord was great, kinda wished there would be some fighting scenes with him but oh well. Speaking of fighting scenes, Celestia vs Luna !! "Show for little girls" yeah right. I was in doubt as to how they're gonna handle the Alicorn Twilight thing but they did a fantastic job. And I can't wait for all the new fan creations now! Finally have something to look forward to each week now.

If we're just throwing fan creations out there before the season premiere... This game, I must admit, was the thing that kinda pulled me towards the franchise in the first place. Before that, it wasn't anything I really paid attention to, but somehow this sold me on it.
Hey wait, didn't I see this story before? http://template93.deviantart.com/art/SOTB-Page-1-277730111

I made a video that shows some of the discoveries that I described in my previous post from 2012. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTeoAJGv3vs ----- I think that it may be possible to clip into a wall if you touch a frying pan from a cook or purple guy and he gets killed when the frying pan is in the wall. But unfortunately there is no instance where a frying pan ever enters a wall far enough. And I tried feeding cook ability to a yellow guy (which absorb your ability) and their frying pan only hurts you and doesn't catch you. So the developers were well aware of the clipping potential :P http://oi40.tinypic.com/ka4vif.jpg

Apparently there is now an "Adventure ponies 2" game but when I go to that page I can only see a blank video player or flash player of some sort...

Hey, thanks for your help. But I cannot follow the instructions on this page. How do I access the registry and "expand" ? Some "baby steps" would be appreciated

I have looked at Dolphin 4.0 yesterday and have a couple questions. - Since settings always get moved around between versions, and new settings get added and old ones get removed, I'm confused what set of settings is the recommended standard. What is the recommended set of settings that everyone should use in 4.0? - Do I still need the two DSP files? - When I stop emulation, it would ask me if I really want to. Can that popup be turned off? - In contrast to the previous Dolphin versions, savestates, savegames, dumped videos and audio, etc. don't get saved in a subdirectory of the Dolphin folder anymore, but they get saved under user/documents/Dolphin Emulator/... Is there a way to determine what directory it uses because this creates some chaos for me. I want the 4.0 related files to be in the 4.0 folder and not somewhere completely different...

We talked earlier. What he wants to know is, - what version of Dolphin to use for TASing? - where to get it? Download link. - maybe some sort of guide or starting help (I don't know the answers to those questions myself, I'm still using 3.0-616 lol)

Remember to make backups of your movie files. I remember when I almost screwed myself over by trying to load a state that wasn't part of the movie. (In VBA 19.3, and maybe some newer versions there was a terrible glitch that would cause the movie to resume at the current frame after it brings up the message "this state is not from this movie", deleting all progress)
Huh. The glitch that constantly screwed me over doing the Spongebob TAS was saving a state near/on a lag frame, then the next time it is loaded, there's a chance the lag frame "vanishes". By "vanishes" I mean entirely disappearing until you try and playback the movie at an earlier point, in which case, the lag reappears and causes desync. The only reason I managed to find out early when this happened was because if the input was done 1 frame earlier, it would make the character walk on spot.
I know there is such a glitch in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror (only in VBA-24m, I don't know if it has been fixed yet). Saving & loading a state at a certain frame during a room transition would cause the movie file to desync. Anyway, just telling that you should make backups to not lose hours of work. Many people had to learn it the hard way.

Impressive run! I only wish I could fully understand all the planning and implications that went into this run (because I'm no good at disassembly, coding etc. yet). Specifically, I don't understand this part at the second reset:
By resetting in such a way that there is left only "K-" (4B 25) of the data, check sum agrees according to expectations.
So as far as I understand, some way or another (I don't understand how), you made the savegame so that you start out in the top left corner of the map with 0 characters and you get to do something for only 1 frame before the game would gameover (because of 0 characters). In that frame you active the text glitch which - to my understanding - works because you "check area" at the 'out of bounds' part, like in Onett or in the tent in Threed previously. So my question is only, why exactly do you get to start out in the top left corner in Tenda Village?

I can't remember ever doing it and there's not a real reason not to, so I want to post the VBM of my TAS here. Maybe it will help others in one way or another. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/330016400/mlssTAS22nov2012.vbm VBA 24m svn3[??] Mario & Luigi RPG (J)

For some reason I haven't been able to watch Dailymotion videos. It just appears black and I only hear audio.. But I think I can watch embedded Dailymotion videos.

VBA 24m is the latest version and is a merge between VBA-rr and VBA-m which fixed a lot of glitches in games. But I don't know about your memory problem.. Maybe your emulator is set to "disable" cheats.

RTA? Sick Japanese runners never cease to amaze Also, since that RTA was done on Japanese, is there now a reliable way to achieve the ending on the Japanese version? If you still have our WIP done on the Japanese version, maybe we can complete a TAS on that version with little effort.
