Why not trying something to make hourglass compatible with whatever game in Windows 7 instead of limiting in Windows XP and only few games that are TASable. Looking to how Hourglass is old; 6 years; I think many improvements can be applyed to that emulator, so it can be more usable
For emulator coders, adding or removing some options can help if I'm not wrong

I would like to replace the movie with one that is 9.09 seconds faster. It uses the japanese version.
Reason for (J) ver: Taking down the first dragon needs only 3 hits instead of 6 hits which saves 9 seconds

PS: replace the encode module with this one: [module:youtube|v=5i-w1SZNSe8]

I think that the minimum to meet Phalanx is to complete at least the 4 stages. As the RTA speedruners complete the game in the same way.
Man, you always ask which is a very great thing, I like that

Hi everyone.
From the time I joined TASVideos, I do several runs and submit them on the site, waiting for publication.Unfortunatly, the judging ends with a rejecting decision due to several reasons (sloppy gameplay, unoptimazed run, cheats etc.), and I agree with the judgers. So I decided not to submit and wait until I know that the run is going to be accepted, however, I still get rejected submissions.
For that, I didn't submit two runs but I posted them as WIP (on my userfiles) and I uploaded one on youtube for MMZ4 that completes the game with no parts, and now I ask if I can submit and get them published on TASVideos

Yes, you're right.
When I use Intel Express Chipset Family as an example, I don't find any problem with interpolation for apps that uses DirectDraw at all, but as soon as I change to nVidia card, the interpolation stop working which gives a pixelate image in most emulators that uses DirectDraw, Fortunately, some emus had an option to use Direct3D instead and that gives the ability to bilinear filtering the image (thanks to feos and Aktan for informations). However, this doesn't causes a major problem if the goal is encoding a video except PSXjin and PCSX-RR, since the built-in AVI recorder for PSXjin and kkapture for PCSX-RR record exactly what appears in the screen of the emulator (PSXjin doesn't record HUD, as a note)
PS: both of computers used for the test uses windows 7 as an OS. The first one had a P4 CPU and Intel GPU and the second one had a C2D CPU and a nVidia GPU

Uh, no problem, I will upload to MediaFire from now on. Link to my encode (just a transfer from Archive to MediaFire). Just watch and accept it (not for pub)
http://www.mediafire.com/?gvfuwc47rg1f890
As a rule of thumb, you should not upload your encodes straight to Archive. We (the publishers) take care of that when a run gets accepted. Therefore, upload to e.g. MediaFire first, so we can review it.
Secondly, the primary downloadable is supposed to be 10-bit 4:4:4; however, this is not the case here (yours is YV12 (or 8-bit 4:2:0)), so it's not even acceptable.
So, as I can see, Archive.org is only used for movies that is published or under publishing, so I must host my files on Mediafire as an example. Spikestuff also told me the same thing, but the reason that let me upload to Archive.org is to avoid deleting the file after a while if no one used it which Mediafire do.
I'll re-upload again to Mediafire (honestly, I still like the 8bit420 lol)

Well, I already watched the WIP in June and I liked it, Finally it has been completed.
I enjoyed the run, and I surprised when I saw the glitch that let Mega Man skip the boss rush room directly to Wily's room for the first battle, this saves a lot of time
No discussion, voting yes for this wonderful run and thank you, Tiancaiwhr, for doing this TAS.
Here is an SD encode:

TASBlend is a very simple filter (just separating the frames into pairs and combining them again with varying opacity), but Deblink has to examine every pixel and decide if it's part of a blinking sprite or not. It's more code and it does a lot more work.
So,the work that deblink does is the main reason that let it very slow, unlike TASBlend that doesn't much effort,it is faster.
creaothceann, thank you for explaining to me the slowring reason for Deblink.

I was right when I was thinking that interlacing has relation with blending,But...I have another question about ng_deblink:Why it is very slow than TASBlend when previewing on VD or encoding?

Wait!Wait!!Wait!!!.Another notable improvement for this super game.I surprised with this.Only 2% and 2min for in game time.Woow!!!.Of course, yes vote.
To my mind, this run must obsolete the GT code run, because they are similar, also,it dosen't use the X-ray for ending the game unlike the current run that does,so this last, also must obsolete the previous X-ray glitch,in my opinion.

After I saw the movie time,I guessed that the movie is need
optimizations in route or in gameplay, because this game is the same as the snes version with just small deferents.
So,at least, the movie time must be almost 1h:20min
When someone want to do a TAS,he must watch some published runs(canceled or WIP or youtube runs...) then trying to improve the watched run,as a choice,or following other ways,to get the final result:Published Movie
I maded also some runs that was bad and they are know rejected because I was thinking that submitting is the only way to get the movie published without taking care with mistakes.
In general, there is a lot of rules of TASing in order to make a goog TAS.
P.S:The movie rerecord count is to low,and that means that the author didn't give the enough time for tasing(only 17h)

Before I start TAS Cotm as Magician,I decided to improve the current run.So I wanted to skip Chapel Tower using DSS glitch and just beating Camilla then complet the game normaly but I was thinking that the run will not be accepted for publication because zggzdydp's run do the same and this on 2007 and Cardboard's was published on 2008.
For that reason,I tried to do a Magician run that skips Chapel Tower
