Since I only recently bought an N64 and Mario 64...I have never actually gotten 120 stars...but I do know that I pretty much only played Lethal Lava Land. I never went into Shifting Sand Land and Hazy Maze Cave...and MIPS still appeared for me.

For me I had Butz do Jump!. I waited until he was in the air and then I had Faris and Lena each cast Fire2. When Faris was done Titan would do the final attack killing both Faris and Lena, but since Butz is still in the air I won. Of course all of my guys have a few more levels than Bocos so the amount that Fire2 does would obviously be different.

I read some where that you can defeat Titan in one hit with some sort of death blade. The translation of it in my game is DoomCut. However, after I tried this probably about 50 times it never succeeded in killing Titan in one hit. I had gone to Crescent Island to get it, hoping that it would work. Thankfully the Dragoon's Jump! ability worked well...just had to get it to work right and I eventually did.

It's not manipulating luck. I replayed that section at least a hundred times and the fights would still happen. However, if I restarted before the fire ship the fights would be different or not there at all.

Before you get to iron claw...there's the room with 2 places to go for some chests. Well, I'm talking about the room before that. There's sometimes only one fight...sometimes two...sometimes none and they are the equivalent of the boss fight...only without the general changing forms.

You obviously didn't experience those fights. Sometimes they happen and sometimes they don't.

You already have the strats for the ancient library and a few other places. Even though mine is for myself I have come across good ideas later on in the first world. I've followed what gamefaqs.com have said when it comes to low levels and the boss guide. I'm not going for a low level 2/2/2/3...but I am relatively low for where I'm at in the game. I used only thunder rods for the cannons. When you go against the boss you have to do L5 Death and then make everyone skip a turn and then come back with thunder rods. If you immediately use them instead of skipping a turn they do about half as much damage. 1200-1500 instead of 2500-2600. For the next boss I just did a combination of rods...back and forth. I'm sure that captured sandbears is faster, but I'm doing more of a practical run...so at this point I have only about 200 rerecords. I didn't want to have to replay a section 50 times to get past it at 2/2/2/3...so I leveled up my characters more. If you redo the run after the demonstration is done be careful with the fire ship and iron claw. There are fights that aren't random that can obliterate you after the fire ship. Have a save state before the ship and see if you have the battles. If you do then you'll need to buy a few extra rods. I had to completely redo my run twice because of the extra battles. Boko was lucky and didn't get any of them. I also got lucky in my latest incarnation and I didn't get them either.

Ever heard of sarcasm? I wasn't taking the 13 years literally. I'm just trying to figure things out like everyone else. Also, I would say that I spend about 20 minutes leveling. What would be the plan to kill all of the cannons in Lonka?

It sounds like capturing sand bears would take a while too. It does work...and it's not 13 years.

You could just go to crescent island and level up until you can take the main attack from the chimera or whatever...aurorake I think it is. Then use aerorake to kill the boss in the desert and then with the money you got from leveling up just buy some rods and kills the cannons and the flying dragon...finish him off with the L5 Death.

The speedrun was really good, but it did seem a bit slow. I'm guessing that's simply the game engine. How long did it take you to make this timeattack?

I vote yes. I tried to play this game countless times I never even got past the first level. The sad part was that I wasn't even playing on the hardest setting. I don't suppose there's anyway for you to not have to go all the back to the beginning and do everything all over again? That would be the only reason I'd switch my vote. Good job!

I didn't see the name of the rom at first. I suppose you're assuming that if someone knows what an emulator is they obviously can then go and find the rom that corresponds with the video. Perfection isn't possible. I'm well aware of this, but it is theoretical. Now, if someone over at www.planetquake.com/sda/other beat one of your times, then I'd think you could probably do better with slow-motion and save states. However, if no one has ever beaten a game before and recorded doing it, I think they can do it as sloppy as they want to. It's kind of human nature to want to do it faster and better anyway, so I doubt the "sloppiness" would be that bad. I did speedruns of Max Payne on fugitive. Most of the speedruns are ok...not great, but it was because I was simply trying to beat the level. I was still in the state of mind where I figured beating a Max Payne level without dying was impossible. I mean there's a reason why you can save anywhere in the game. Once I beat the game, every level, without dying...I didn't do it all at once but level by level, I then went back and did all of the levels on New York Minute mode. I smashed most of the times I had gotten previously, sometimes more than a minute and a few times more than 2 minutes. I went back because I knew that I could do better. Cya

For starters I'll say I'm new to this site and I'm already frustrated. When it comes to what the speedruns should be called, how about "theoretical perfection." Cause even if you are going super slow-mo someone else could probably do it even faster. Here's a message for Bizquit: (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) I don't care if these speedruns are for entertainment purposes or whatever. I think that any game (that a person can get through fast...aka not Tetris), should be made available. Who cares if it's not as neat as some other games. Shouldn't the majority of the people who go to the site be the ones to decide if it's exciting enough. Now, if a speedrun isn't that great when it comes to how fast the person completed it I can see you not putting it up, but I'm sure that if one person does a speedrun/timeattack for a game then someone else will probably try to be it, therefore you get "theoretical perfection" by having multiple attempts. I've already watched several videos and I'm quite impressed. The Castlevania IV was incredible. However, I watched the Super Mario Bro. 1 timeattack of going through all of the levels and then, when he got to the final level, mario just ends up dying and that's it. I think that you should put exactly what the rom used was. A name such as Castlevania IV (U). If there are mutiple versions of the rom, state which one was used specifically. So far the Genesis speedruns I've seen haven't messed up. Two have messed up for SNES. Hook and Super Ghouls n Ghosts. Neither have been added officially, but I'm surprised that each of them got messed up within the first minute or two. If the version of the rom isn't the problem then why don't you tell us what your settings are for your emulator so we can view it too. To me this all seems like trial and error and I don't want to spend three hours trying to get something to work that will only last 20 minutes. I got Punch Out to work for NES using an emulator other than Famtasia. No offense, but I think that emulator is a piece of crap. It continuously screws up. It took me an hour and a half to view the Super Mario Bro. 1 timeattack. Why doesn't more people use the other NES emulator? It has absolutely no problem loading the punch out movie and I got to watch the WHOLE thing.
