Viddler would probably be better for encode and upload for videos that are longer than 10 minutes.
i can't stand embeded players, especialy when you CAN'T take out the seeking bar.... not to forget that movies too long would get cut to another video... also usualy you'll get the torrent faster than the streaming...

yes vote, too bad i don't understand japaness but as said in the submition text it's not too bothering (execpt if you want to know the story :/) also, is it just me or the hero constantly get ripped off / stole his money ? last question, if you get all hearts, can you beat richard ? does it give you an alternate ending? also richard is a real jerk why did he push you in the well ?

How about combining those ideas and put a photoshopped photo of a DS there that has some leet TASVideos spraypaint on? XD
i like the idea too why not make a camera hack that push the camera upward for the same le ngth as the missing pixel, and simply fill the gap in a new video ( a camera hack like the sonice advance 2 one but not focused on sonic but on the missing gap... )

Do you really think the description is appropriate? Shouldn't this be a family-friendly site?

"We publish recordings of classic console games, formed by constructing an input file slowly over time using an emulator as a tool to overcome human limitations such as skill and reflex, then playing the file back to give the impression that the game is played extraordinarily."
Some people are of the opinion that because this is a relatively simple game (in terms of movement), that it would not be particularly difficult to replicate these results in real time. A TAS that can be replicated in real time is certainly not extraordinary.
well then, any takers on proving it?
http://speeddemosarchive.com/Mario1.html the current record is faster than the firsts tases

Frame wars... This is nothing but nonsense, as they always are.
War has changed. side trolled plumbers carry frame tagged movies, use frame tagged improvements. frame advance inside their emulators enhance and regulate their abilities. state save control. Information control. memory adress control. Battlefield control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. War has changed...

in the wikipedia article :
Throwing 20,000 punches on the opening game screen will also take the player directly to the game's ending.
how much frame do a punch cost ?

I think Upthorn's suggestions make the most sense, but with the recent influx of crap/troll/joke submissions (a dozen in a month now, I think?) I say that we should restrict new users to 3 submissions a week.
bad idea, a lot of ppls who like tases never bother registering until they actualy make tases... if a frame war begin with a new user, the 3 submission rule might get in his way...

Hum did someone even watch the movie ? No one seems to vote on this. Shouldn't you see the movie before ? I can't watch it now, but if at least there was some no vote before rejecting a submission...
wenever i smell a troll post i don't vote / watch until some other ppls actualy comment on those...

A simple copy/paste of the rules link when rejecting the movies may help slow the amount of repeat offenders. Also, address the fact that 'Being new doesn't mean that your movie is given special treatment.'
it would be enough if it was random guys coming here but it seems that we are in a case where someone is actualy deliberatly posting fake submitions so in that case the simple copy paste is not realy enough...

I was going to reject this outright, but as it's one player and not two, I'll let it ride for a little while. In regards to post count at X posts in order to submit, people didn't seem to like the idea when I suggested the same thing a week ago.
maybe the recent ammount of "fake submission" will change peoples minds...

Nicos' idea seems reasonable. Giving these submitters the benefit of the doubt that they're sincere, if they actually posted about their works in the relevant game threads before submitting (and then incorporated feedback), they probably wouldn't get gruefooded nearly so often.
well it is to remember that the first " lurkers can't vote" was instored after a runner created a lot of fake acount to get his run accepted ( i can't remember if it was the same one that pm'ed everybody asking for yes votes...) as the same case is presented with submitions, the same rule should be enough to solve the problem...

3. Is the site getting spammed by automated submissions? I haven't submitted a movie, so I don't know if there's anything like a CAPTCHA that people have to pass.
i don't think it's a bot, but more a single uber troll ( speech sound familiar...) no, what should be done with the submision is that lurkers cannot submits movies or have like 5-10 post to be able to submit, it might not stop trolls but at least it will slow them down and force user to acctualy interact with us before submiting ( would work as a kind of filter...)
