Why are you using a (E) version? (U) would probably have a higher framerate.

I think it does, and I think it's a fairly important fact that the glitch involves entering a password. There's a lot more controversy in glitched passwords than in other cases of glitching. Are there any precedent cases of glitched passwords? I'm wondering if there has been something else like this.

I don't really like the category (concerning publishability), because it essentially uses a password to skip over half of the game, then does the rest of the game as a walkathon. It being a glitched password (with some other side effects) doesn't really make it any more legitimate, in my opinion. I think it's pretty much doable to do a true walkathon SMB1-style just by playing through the entire game without pressing the dash button, so if one were to do a walkathon, it would be better to just play the full game, without passwords. I vote no for this. It showcases an interesting glitch (the password glitch), and there's some merit in seeing it done without the dash part (though that is something I did myself in real time once, just with an otherwise unobtainable password to get everything except the boots, rather than the glitch password), but I don't think it's publishable because it essentially just uses a password to skip over half of the game.

It's not quite possible to prove two user accounts are the same person just by their first name. Maybe an IP check can give more results, but I think it's doubtful that the submitter is the same for these two runs.

Omega Red appears as an AI opponent, for what it's worth. Otherwise I don't think he's that interesting though, his unique specials pretty much consists coils, coils and Omega Strike and those would get boring before the end of a round. Shuma could've been interesting and has some interesting moves but I don't think there's all that much to do with him either. Anyway, I think the character selection is fairly great as is, it worked to keep the run from ever becoming stale, even for its length.

I also enjoyed this run very much. Clear yes vote. A few highlights: (spoilered for those who haven't seen it yet -- I recommend you should watch the run first if you haven't done it yet)
  • Norimaro and Dan team-up. Most notably, the awesome Otoko Michi finish.
  • Cyclops beating the crap out of Dan, combo counter already way past 99 hits, while Dhalsim's theme is playing in the background
  • Dhalsim crashing the game
  • Let's just say there's more than enough Mecha Zangief showcased in the run
  • Wolverine abusing the combo counter (and Chun-Li) like Cyclops
  • In the same match, Chun-Li just basically kicking the crap out of Hulk, while Wolverine jumps around to move the screen
  • Ken juggling the Hulk in the corner near infinitely while having his back turned to him, while CPU Captain America (unsuccessfully) attempts to approach, ending with finishing Cap with Shippu Jinrai Kyaku with hardly any interruption
  • Ryu vs. Ken, in a manner that couldn't be made more epic
  • Zangief's finishing Final Atomic Buster on Cyber Akuma, interrupted by HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER
  • Akuma vs. Cyber Akuma pretending to do a Dragonball Z fight before Akuma finishing with Shun Goku Satsu
There's probably a couple more, but these are the ones I could come up with right now.

SDR, that was a very nice TAS there. I had no idea there was nearly as much as this possible with MSHvSF's game engine, and all the matches were very entertaining to watch. I think you should submit this to the workbench.

Personally, I vote no for this one. The run largely keeps repeating the same 4-hit or 5-hit combo's over and over again, which was getting repetitive and boring after about two or three rounds. It doesn't really display TAS-like superhuman performance (other than the perfect parries now and then), and doesn't seem to push Street Fighter 3 to the limits like other TASes such as DevilAzite's Necro TAS do. The juggles are what makes fighting TASes interesting, and without it, it's just straightforward punching with the same short, repeated combo's until opponent after opponent goes down. For me, that stopped being interesting about two minutes in.

There's a Third Strike Twelve TAS on YouTube by DevilAzite. DevilAzite also has TASed numerous other characters in the game and once submitted a Necro TAS which got rejected for poor feedback. I think the best way for a Street Fighter 3 TAS to be published is to actually use various different characters, like SDR's X-Men vs. Street Fighter run, for example. The variety of characters used can make fighter TASes more interesting.

Pretty much this. The TAS looked decent, but could've had more special moves. This TAS felt somewhat shallow in that regard. Also, instant kill DP must definitely be somewhere in the TAS. And if I recall correctly, it's also possible to KO an opponent with a single tatsu. I'd want to see something like that too.

How does your TAS compare to the currently published TAS of Contra ([1783] NES Contra (Japan) "2 players" by zyr2288 in 08:51.73)?

They released it at the worst time possible, at a time where a lot of people (including me) are too busy with final exams to play. So yeah, I haven't played it yet. If it was released at a different time, I probably would have.

Nope, that isn't it. scph7001 is a NTSC-U bios and it still has the same sound issues.

I confirmed this run syncs on PSXjin 2.0.2 svn0, with the first ROM natt mentioned (Monkey Magic (USA).bin and checksums in natt's post), and with either scph7502 (PAL) or scph7001 (NTSC-U) as BIOS.
