If "movie" is that much of a problem, then just replace it with "replay". My vote will be with ".bkr" (BizHawk Replay file) rather than ".bkm", then.

My vote is for .bkm (BizHawk Movie file). .bhm keeps making me think of the Bahamas rather than something else. Otherwise, .bmovie is good too. I think .movie is a bit too nonspecific though, which could cause confusion for other things.

How would you guys feel if the page just died, all movies appeared under their appropriate system, and we tagged hacked games as such. Then if you really want to see one of these categories, you can just look at the special movies by category tag pages? I'm interested if you agree, disagree, or have a better idea.
Yes. That's as much as I have to say.

Oh, it's a great idea. It's also nearly exactly what Hourglass is trying to achieve. It's just that it's still at least several years away from being able to support everything, let alone anything even close to TF2 or similar modern games.

Personally, I don't see any reason for the two different formats to have different file extensions. If the emulator can easily parse both types (exactly like a number current formats such as .fm2, .pjm, etc.) then there's hardly a disadvantage to it. No need to complicate it further with different file extensions.

Yeah, I also support that idea. As long as the votes themselves stay unchanged (accuracy to tenths, separate entertainment/technical votes), I don't see any downside to making the process far easier to access and use.

Isn't that just what Hourglass does? Sure, it doesn't support much more than smaller 2D games and especially not something as grand as Crysis, but other than that, Hourglass is basically like what you're describing.

I would. And I think it'd be quite a bit more interesting than minimum score. There's a lot more variety and strategy to it. Aimless playaround for the better part of 15 minutes got old real fast.

Isn't there a danger that almost all rejected movies would end up there?
Depends, I think we can trust the community on not vandalizing the page by throwing in all of their own rejected movies, though. But at least it could work for the page getting more recognition as well as content, both of which are a bit too shallow currently, judging from the responses in this thread.

That reminds me of this TAS which was rejected only a couple days ago (although that was due to other reasons) I think a max coin TAS could be interesting though. More interesting than "lowest score" at least.

If it doesn't obsolete anything (particularly: [562] NES Ninja Gaiden by Scumtron in 10:52.68, the current published any% TAS of that game), then why did you submit it in the first place? It'll only be rejected anyway.

I have actually done this a few times, to add just a bit to the rerecord counter to make it a round number. It's silly, but it doesn't really matter anything, anyway.
