Okay, I've spotted the disconnect here. Apparently it's "very politically charged" to say that an instance implicitly endorses something. Whatever that "something" is, is not relevant, because it's clear now that's not the point. I guess this would have been a provocative and very politically charged statement if I assumed what their favorite pizza topping was.

My very first post was asking to keep to the facts rather than making implications and assumptions based on things that have not been said. Then why is the original post still making the exact same statement about "implicit endorsement of hate speech"? What's "implicit" about it if, according to you, there are so many facts? Have they directly endorsed hate speech at freenode or not? As I said in my second post, I don't really give a flying f about what they may or may not have done elsewhere. I only care about what their official policy is at freenode.
And here I officially give up. You have clearly not read the thread. You are clearly refusing to read the thread. You have once again skipped through the posts about evidence, logs, and explicit acts of endorsement. And you've neatly cut out my linking to those posts about evidence in this very post you just quoted. You can't be continuing to ask these questions when the answers have been posted again and again and you have ignored them again and again. It's literally yelling into a vacuum. At this point I'm going to have to ask you to stop. The facts are in this thread, there is no point in you asking for them. And there is nothing on-topic that you are adding to this conversation. Since previous mods tried and failed to rerail the conversation and failed, I'm going to give an official warning. If I get another post that repeats this pattern, I will remove your ability to post.

And there you go again, distorting what my objection and point was, and making yet again another politically charged and provocative statement, this time putting words in my mouth, words that I never said nor implied.
What is the objection here? Is the "politically charged content" not about the hate speech we decry? If it's anything else, then I must have missed that, and so must the entire rest of this topic since you started posting in it, as nothing else of the first post has been subject matter at any point in this discussion. I haven't even said anything about you or your stances in this post. I only lifted some direct quotes from your messages. Also, is decrying hate speech a "provocative statement" now? This is your own words again, I'm not sure how else I should be interpreting those.

Asking for facts and evidence is not "trying to control other people's speech"
At no point in this topic have your posts been about asking for facts and evidence. This is easy to notice, because facts and evidence have been spread plenty throughout the first few pages of this topic, and you have been pointed to this time and time again and you have ignored every single instance of those. You have come to this topic with the interest of debating the principles of free speech, sure. You can even argue that it's tangentially (at best) part of the topic. But at no point have you shown any interest in seeking for facts or evidence. There is no point in trying to pretend that you did. This entire conversation exists now because you have only shown interest in debating the tangent. And all I have said is that I have preference for more discussion of the main point and less of the tangent.

How is it "quite clearly" over? The last post before you came in, posted one day before your first post here, asked Nach a question about the process - which is not yet finished - and that question has not even been addressed yet. At this point, it has clearly been lost in the conversation, but it's still important to the topic.

The subject of the topic is that we are moving away from freenode, and the post includes the reasons that made us decide to move. The subject of the topic is not the Constitution, or the abstract principles of free speech. The only aspect that makes the post "very politically charged" according to this, is a decry of hate speech. If that's too politically charged, then I'm sorry for posting politically charged principles on a site with politically charged rules. Or actually, that's not really true. I'm not sorry for decrying hate speech. I don't think it has a place on our site, and I don't think it has a place on any institution that our site wishes to associate with. I've seen enough evidence, both soft and hard, to refuse to continue associating this site with freenode. That's why this topic was made. As for free speech, I'm exercising my free right to decry the actions of freenode and its current staff members. Freedom of speech goes both ways. If I were forced to associate with an institution that I have deep fundamental disagreements with, I wouldn't be very free. And yes, I would much rather see this topic actually discuss the process of transition (which as a reminder again, is still ongoing), or other aspects or news related to freenode itself. This very abstract discussion about free speech is not conducive in that regard.

The idea of main-switching midway through FRLG is not without merit, but I don’t know that Tauros is the answer. The remakes take away two of his biggest strengths: speed-based crit rate, and access to Fissure
On top of those reasons, speed itself is made less important thanks to Quick Claw, and OHKO moves cannot work on higher-leveled opponents, which also discourages catching a new (lower-level) Pokémon later in the run. This all just puts emphasis on having more raw power on your Pokémon (as opposed to cheese OHKO move strats), which is hard to get when re-catching.

Nice improvements! Well made TAS. I knew that scene switching could probably be improved in my TAS, as I didn't understand the scene loading triggers fully yet. Good to see the run improve on it. Yes vote.

Switching main Pokémon not once but twice in the run is very creative, and it's great to see it working out. There's something hilarious about entering the Elite Four with nothing but a Lv41 Tauros with 6 HP, underleveled by about 12-16 levels throughout the entire ordeal. Excellent display of planning and mastery of the game. Clear yes vote.

A poster is made channel operator in a staff channel literally directly after posting transphobic content. This is a literal action of endorsement. I already linked this a few posts back. You can call the original line an assumption. But the signs were clear, and what was previously implicit has been made explicitly clear. "Assumptions" are not the problem here.

The line you neatly quoted out of context referred to associating with the platform. Like it or not, public association and reputation aren't based on exact sciences, and organizations can do a lot of work to tank their reputation even if it isn't based on exact facts. This also extends to reputation extending to other instances by association, so how freenode is perceived by external parties is also relevant to us. But if you want facts, I've posted plenty of them in this thread, backed with sources and logs, including documented actual hate speech by newly-assigned freenode staff. Anything else you wanted to say about facts or assumptions?

At long last, a submission for this category! I'm probably asking the obvious, but just wondering, is the possibility of getting Goldeen/Seaking to learn Waterfall via leveling up considered in order to skip HM07? https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Waterfall_(move)#By_leveling_up
The highest level Goldeen/Seaking you can catch in the game is level 25/30 respectively, which is a far cry from the level 38/41 required to learn Waterfall with them. Leveling them up that much would take way more time and resources than it's worth, compared to the ~25-second detour of getting HM07 normally in Icefall Cave, and ~10 seconds of teaching Squirtle the HM.

No matter how you slice it, it's a bad look for them, and I'd rather err on the side of "we're taking misinformation seriously" as opposed to "we're treating something serious as misinformation".
On top of the lack of dispute, the direction freenode is steering towards is made especially clear with their choice of operators for their official channels, and their messages posted in their official feedback channel. (Content warning: transphobia, bigotry, slurs, on top of other things). There can hardly be clearer signs that anybody with a shred of common sense should be dissociating and removing themselves from this network as fast as possible.

The downfall of freenode A lot of things have happened with IRC network freenode over the course of the last week. The roots for this trace back to 2017, when the ownership of freenode was transferred to technology entrepreneur Andrew Lee, alias rasengan (founder of VPN service PIA). freenode staff were made to believe at the time that this was just for funding and it would not impact the operations of the network. Earlier this month, several freenode staff members announced their resignation, in response to an apparent hostile takeover by Lee. Volunteer staff members were being forced out in favor of operator spots that have been offered "for money or revenge". This was the first sign that major things were coming down on freenode. The former freenode staff members have set up a new IRC network, Libera Chat. Many channels and users have already moved from freenode to Libera. This was only where the issues would start, as the effects of the takeover would start to become apparent. One of the first changes was an update to freenode's policy page, removing references about disallowing hate speech on the platform. This is a major red flag - and many who weren't considering moving out before, would definitely start considering moving out now, lest they get associated with a network's implicit endorsement of hate speech. freenode's new owners and operators also did not take well towards the backlash they've received and the users trying to abandon ship. Their response includes seizing or sabotaging IRC channels that have announced their intents to migrate to Libera or another server - this notably was done to endrift's #mgba channel. It is made all too clear that any channel that is even considering moving out from freenode will be punished. Also, one of the new freenode staff members is apparently known for impersonation/identity theft and harassment. What this means for TASVideos Ever since February 2005, more than 16 years ago, TASVideos (then NESVideos) has hosted #nesvideos and later #tasvideos on freenode IRC as one of the main ways for site members to congregate and communicate with each other. Starting now, we will no longer be using freenode's IRC services, nor will we support or endorse any of their recent practices. Nach is in the process of moving channel services to #tasvideos at Libera (irc://irc.libera.chat/tasvideos) - this will be the new go-to channel for all your IRC chatting needs. We will be updating all IRC references on the site accordingly.

As a bonus, I put together a video with various alternate revisions/outtakes of stages that ended up not making it into the final run. Unfortunately I did not end up saving every variant made, but it's still a nice bit of extra content. Link to video On another note, this was the last TAS submission that l'll have posted. It's been a very fun trip for more than 11 years, but at this point I've basically achieved everything I wanted to achieve in terms of creating published TASes. I have no desire to start any new TAS project at this point, and I can't even think of any idea I could do that could possibly top how well this submission was received. I will remain active on the site, of course - I just won't be making new runs.

Not even close - the highest score TAS I know (by Haru using Kirby) of gets a score of 02607700. There just aren't that many bonuses in the game, and besides No Miss x11/No Miss Clear, No Damage Clear and Very Hard Clear (which together combine up to over a million), they just don't give that many points.

This is a category that I've been wanting to see a TAS of for a long time - the requirement to catch 60 Pokémon adds an interesting extra challenge to the TAS, and it's nice to see the post-game quest being featured. And, of course, we get Clefable action spiced up with some Metronome now and then. Among the non-heavily-glitched Pokémon runs, this has to be up there as one of my favorites. Yes vote.

I've put the post back in the PC Games forum (in the Celeste topic). I didn't see any convincing point as to why it shouldn't be available for discussion there. It's an interesting topic, even if it might not directly benefit existing TASing toolkits or efforts.

Even so, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a list of those to keep track of (for active publications, anyway). Or for those that are in particular demand by viewers, like the one that this topic was made for.

For that reason, I'd like to get some non-AFD feedback on this run. To people that voted yes: Do you actually find the run entertaining, or did you just vote for the coloring of dinosaurs, as is site tradition? To people who haven't voted yet: Is this worthy of publication as a playaround, or is it just a site meme with only niche entertainment value? I'd personally lean towards publication here. There's a lot of creativity on display and it's definitely showcasing superhuman ability. Plus, if we don't get CAD published in some way, I feel like that's just our loss.
I voted yes for the coloring of dinosaurs. It's a funny meme, but I don't think it should be published. The merit of entertainment is in this movie is seeing the classical Color a Dinosaur dinosaurs traced in real time. Slowly. The runtime is 34 minutes, to draw 16 dinosaurs (plus prep and end screen). In terms of playaround, I think this run is most comparable to Brain Age, another playaround based on drawing things. It is six and a half minutes long, draws around 120 images in that time, and the drawings include a wide variety of references. It lacks coloring, but I don't think the coloring adds enough (besides meme value) as compared to being very significantly slower at drawing things, and sticking to one repetitive theme. The only thing I see going for this is meme value, for one of TASVideos' most classic in-jokes. I don't think that's something that actually should be published. Also, if we actually want to publish a free-form creativity game like Mario Paint, then we'll need to revise our rules on game endings - all previous playarounds have required to still trigger a game/mode ending in some way (or ACE their way into something that looks like an ending). Neither way is really possible in a game like this, so we'd need to add a clause for this.

I don't know why you called that invincible enemy Smileybot since it's clearly Masterjun
There's a clear difference. Masterjun has the bigger smile. Although the idea of being chased by an invincible Masterjun will now probably haunt me in my nightmares.

Home Brew? Its actually a port to the O2.
It's a homebrew port - it was released in 1998, more than 15 years after the original release (and more than 15 years after the O2 was discontinued). Interestingly, it still looks more similar to the arcade version of Berzerk than it does to the actual Commodore VIC-20 game Amok. And it's not a straight port either, as its level layouts appear to be unique, and it has some special features of its own, like the Smileybot.
