Current PC build has critical save game glitch(which was also spotted in XBLA version), so we have to wait until developers fix it.

I played your movie and also didn't countinue on the part you mentioned. The light turns off, the player goes back to door he's entered, and nothing happens but keep walking toward the door.

Yo, I'm now working on this since last Friday. I also aim for any% like Tompa. I'm doing TAS by comparing my movie to Tompa's. Tompa did very well on this that main job was desperate race to keep up with his movie. I couldn't even find any other way to be faster than him on first level. In the end of first level, I ended up with finishing with no improvement. Only improvement so far is what I accidently saved by 11 frames, pressing button earlier on title screen to reduce lag. I'll post later after completing few more level.

I like the part when the game gives up and let you grab the credits.

Okay, I'm quite certain the emulator(FBA-RR) doesn't have perfect compatibility with this game. I'll post the encode in near future and refer what's the odd thing, though I'm not sure who's gonna fix it.

Just watched first 30 minutes. Some parts were seemed repetitive because I never played the game before, but in total it looks very well-planned to me. Good work, STBM. The movie's quite long, so I think I have to watch it splited in several days.

Well, I kept trying to sync the playback, but had no positive result. The game stops at title screen and seems not to accept any key on playback. I sends you some texts by the official forum's message; don't know you've seen it.

Member rank depends on how many comments the one has posted(see here). Bigger issue is that YouTube encode has a huge sound desync.

I'm against the idea to put "pacifist" branch on arbitrary games and this doesn't seem to be exception. Unlike Contra, as jlun2 mentioned, it's not challenging for player to avoid enemies in this game; the branch doesn't really affect the gameplay thoroughly except hurting the pace.

As you mentioned the WIP is very suboptimal, but its only a test run. I would definitly make a complete test run and try get used to the game and its quirks. Hopefully you might discover something that RTS runners haven't figured out.
You're right. I was thinking that I could start it in anytime because I already beated this game once and learned some techniques, but it seems more reasonable to look around whole game before embarking new TAS. Maybe I can post my testrun to SDA and ask the forerunners which part I miss. So far I was still strict to make sure every movement optimized. Now I'm going to give up some of them, and try to find out the physics of this game. This project may take months to complete. Master of Puppets: I am also sure he used GC version, judging from the fact that the screen features Gamecube buttons in game over screen.

Bump. I was bored, and I couldn't boot Penguin Brothers properly, so I made a testrun of this game. You can see it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5idcbd6cx1bb7uz/pop%20testrun.avi?m(and movie file) Sorry about the low quality of video, that was the best I can do. I didn't try hard to optimize, so it's very suboptimal. Here's some explanation of this run: 1:02 - this wall climbing isn't supposed to be possible, but I made it by glitch. If you cancel walljumping right before he turns around, you can climb a bit higher. 1:15 - The game slows ifself when you run beside wall in early part. Landscape viewing disable this, so it saves some time. I mean, it should have. For unknown reason, the game still kept slow after using this trick. I think I had to switch the view during wall running. 1:25 - I rolled before cutscene to step further. 1:39 - Being in water slows me, so rolled to gain more speed. 1:42 - Obstacle can be removed by stepping on it. 3:19 - a well-known shortcut.

In case you don't know about this, the site is providing solutions and useful tricks. Well, this was on my list for future TAS plan but dang, I was too late. Gotta look for other games.

Uh, Zemina. Didn't expect to meet you on this site. I can't still believe they sold this junk to children. Not voting this time.

Sorry for being late, but can you replace the movie file with this? I managed to improve it by 14 frames on very last sub-level. The rest of input remains unchanged, so you don't have to look it back again. https://www.dropbox.com/s/oneqs41j4dh9bom/Finding%20Nemo%20-%2020130408.vbm?m

I added RAM addresses list for ones who wants to improve this in future. You can use these like this: check 'x/y direction' address when you boosts. These addresses become zero while boosting, so you can gauge when to use a boost by checking whether they are not zero(but you have to keep pressing any direction key).

FUN FACT Finding Dory, the sequel to Finding Nemo, was announced the day after this was submitted. A COINCIDENCE? PIXAR PLOT TO CASH IN ON THIS RUN'S POPULARITY? Odongdong has got some explaining to do... or should I just call you John Lasseter?
Wow, that's astonishing. Maybe one of them saw this? Or, they just wanted to annouce it right after April's Fool... So it seems Dory didn't cure her disease in last decade, judging from the sequel's title.

RGamma: Thanks for quick encode. I was having trouble making one. CoolKirby: I agree there are some dull part here. I tried to pass the levels as fast as I can, but it's still fairly long.

Hey dude, you've put lots of effort on this. It's natural to get a star tier. I'm going to watch it again anyway to absorb all the things.

Done. I'm going to submit this in a day after writing some texts for submission. For those who want to watch it in advance, here's the download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/s1cql8n9uvoy5qn/Finding%20Nemo%20final%20-%2020130331.vbm?m

huh? http://www.labzerogames.com/3rdcharacter/ scroll down to Aeon character, Gameplay Inspiration
Gameplay Inspiration ZSNES, Braid, Snapshot, Dio Brando (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure), Sakuya (Tohou series), Double (Skullgirls), Time-Space Beam glitch (Super Metroid), Omega Tom Hanks (MUGEN), Gameboy Pokemon Yellow TASes (TASVideos.org), Hounds of Tindalos (Lovecraft), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Super Time Force
It's undreamed someone in Skullgirls developing team knows here. Aeon's ability does have a common feature with TAS(rewinding time, slowdown, ...), along with Braid and Prince of Persia(which are also on list). Very obscure ending, by the way.

Hi, I was testing a game called 'ROM CHECK FAIL'(download it from here). I succeeded to boot it, load savestates, and make a movie. But when I tried to playback the movie, it turned out that hourglass didn't capture the randomness of the game, thus resulting in desync. Is this fix-able on current version?
