Good job handing this pretentious ass game its ass. The fact that even with tool assisted power and the "wrong" solution for most puzzles a large part of this video is waiting for stuff to align or waiting for the slow player to actually get somewhere with no challenge highlights my problems with the game.
It's a puzzle game, it's not meant to be deadly challenging, and waiting around doesn't matter the first time you play through because you'll spend an order of magnitude more time thinking about how to solve puzzles anyway :) Btw, have you tried the mods for Braid? They're really fun because they're made of all new, hardest puzzles you won't have been spoiled on yet, plus a lot of second/third order mechanics:

Nice catch! What's the idea?

If the game uses wiimotes (and it sounds like it will) it won't be TASable in dolphin yet.

But then it wouldn't work in bsnes, would it? (I understand that bsnes and console are currently different in how they emulate this. Once a new version comes out that reconciles this there won't be a problem.)

I'd just like to note quickly that tasvideos is not designed to host every possible TAS that could ever exist. In particular, its job is to host 1) the best (fastest) TASes for 2) well defined categories that beat the game 3) of games that have entertainment or technical merit of TAS 4) (plus playarounds for games where playing for speed makes no sense and a few other cases) You are more than welcome to TAS whatever you want, and talk about it/post it on the topic for that game! We love looking at TASes. Just be aware that not all TASes will be accepted onto the tasvideos site itself, because that isn't its goal. Also, your first TAS doesn't have to be 100% optimal/be the fastest ever. Do testrun TASes, playaround TASes, TASed routing. Look for glitches and tricks other people have done and try to recreate them, etc. Here's what the current real time 'all dungeons' real time route looks like: http://www.twitch.tv/moltov/c/2251862 If you can recreate that in a TAS, which will require you to find and learn how all of the tricks in it work, you'll be off to a great start in building more skill.

There's one big thing that I don't understand however. During the world 4 puzzle, once all the puzzle pieces are assembled, you wait for about 2 seconds before inserting the pieces properly into place. Why is that? It looks really sloppy.
The timer is stopped during puzzles in speedrun mode.

The difference is: The shield is not used up in its normal mode of operation, whereas the meat and potions normal mode of operation is to be used up.

Thanks for sharing, I hope it can be applied to Steam version.
All Braid mods work in any PC version of Braid. Simply do two things: 1) The folder for the mod must be placed in 'universes' under 'Braid'. To give an example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Braid\universes\silverbraid 2) In the launch options (for Steam) (presumably command line options for non-Steam), add this: -universe silverbraid (caps sensitive) Braid will keep its save files for every mod separate, so you don't have to worry about overriding progress. EDIT: I just calculated what part in the video the suggested screenshot frames are for, and he suggests the exact same place you do, Odongdong. :)

Anyone have screenshot suggestions? The still shown for the youtube video is unintentionally really good - because it shows a puzzle piece being collected without the key 'used' to get it having ever been used - and at the same time the puzzle on the right side is being set up, AND it's showing off the time travel and highlighting the 'green entity' mechanic.

With MESHUGGAH's permission, I have moved the page to one with a better title. Also, as it was recently updated and completed, it is no longer a "shortened" list. Hopefully this list will fulfill its goal of providing a better list of ideas than the Wiki: ListOfIdeas.
I suggest splitting the tabs of 'platforms that can be TASed right now' and 'platforms that can't be TASed right now' into two separate parts of the page. ATM it's a bit muddled with platforms that won't be TASable probably for years.

World 6 was a series of amazement(especially 6-5 and 6-7). I once beat this game, so I like how broken apart when time rewinding meets TAS. Of course, I vote yes. Sad thing is that this TAS can be(and sure is) spoiler to anyone who didn't play this beautiful game.

Btw, a few things that the level editor could help you with: 1) When you say some doors kill you and others just push you - there's a flag on entities that determines if being inside of the entity kills you or not (I think it's called impenetrable) 2) You were able to rewind after taking a few doors in world 3, is that because they were set as 'rewind exempt' (aka green) in the editor? (Oh, is it possible on any door in the game?)

Technically, you can beat anything with any pokemon in RBY under TAS conditions, due to the 1/256 miss glitch.

This is TAS of the year for me as you already know ;), yes vote. Corner boosting and perfect timeline surgery everywhere. Is anyone planning to upload this to nicovideo?

I haven't played this game enough to notice these things, so I have to ask: What are the things you managed to do to achieve the good ending without collecting all the stars, and are these things possible in an unassisted run? Anyway, good stuff overall, definite yes vote.
Yes, any realtime speedrun gets the good ending. The trick is that the level is designed assuming you do NOT get any corner boosts. If you get good corner boosts you can get an early pirahna plant cycle at the end and reach the chandelier. This is meant to only be possible if you have all seven other stars (which makes a lever green which makes it super easy to get the early cycle)

Why not say, 'if HP is at address X then random trajectory is at address Y', and everyone else can find the difference between their HP and your HP, remove the same difference from your Y and find their Y?

Memory corruption related glitches are usually so random that it may be nearly impossible to repeat it as it’s shown there, even in a TAS. Only if you understand the things inside, you may be able to pull it off, but it will not be trivial (for example, you may need to force certain byte to contain certain value and so on)
Glitches that involve reading very odd parts of memory, crashing, illegal operations, resetting and so on may operate differently on emulator and console if there is a bug in the emulator. You could try seeing what version(s) of emulator(s) the Megaglitch works on.

The game doesn't track down percentages, so there's no clear way of knowing what should be obtained in a 100% run.
That, and runs don't exist until someone makes them.

Falling Hero, available here http://www.kaser.com/mesh.html , is a great turn based puzzle game with surprisingly deep and subtle interactions in spite of its simplistic, grid-based, 2D appearance. The demo has only 15 levels, but they range over a huge number of concepts and difficulties from the full set of 102 with the game - which is what convinced me to buy it. Plus, if you ever finish those 102 levels (I haven't), there's a huge number of downloadable levels from the bottom of the page! Great puzzle game despite simple appearances.
