I basically agree with upthorn's view - if you allow every kind of injustice and failing in the world to be swept under the rug of 'politics', then you equate oppression and the fight for freedom that opposes it as being the categorically same thing, which doesn't seem correct to me. New civil rights and protections are hard fought and hard earned - LGBTQ rights in many ways owe their current state to events like the Stonewall Riots and the violent and public pushback that arises from it, for example. To add on a bit to upthorn's post: Not literally every person has enough time and energy in their lives to be well researched and actively engage in every political issue that exists within society. While it is true that inaction in the face of oppression is to side with the oppressor, not literally every person even has any kind of weight or voice or energy left to have any sway from the issue. It's not an indictment of YOU, the reader, on an individual level - more a general structural statement, where people who have power choose to stay silent and do nothing. (Similar to how, say... to combat global warming, it would definitely be good if as many people ate vegetarian as possible - but people who don't read this and immediately go vegetarian aren't Bad People who need to be shunned, it's just not a choice they can invest time and effort in right now, and that's fine.)

I'm not an expert in this field, but I know that Marijuana is objectively less dangerous to use than cigarettes and alcohol; the main reason why it's illegal is historical reasons, not due to evidence based reasoning (look up the War on Drugs). Other drugs would need to be decided on a case-by-case basis; this is the obvious 'there is really no excuse anymore' one.

It's notable that 2 and 4 are both important values for sqrt(2) infinite power tower - 2 is the first time it crosses the line y = x where the derivative is less than zero, 4 is the second time but this time with derivative greater than zero. But I'm not sure if this is coincidence or not.

I personally think that it should also kill all the bosses. I know in RTA they're two different categories but they seem like a pretty natural part of 'fully beating the game' to me, more natural even than filling your inventory with all unique stuff.

I came up with a puzzle while falling asleep. If you've ever played Minesweeper before, you'd know that if you set the mine quantity VERY low or get VERY lucky, you can solve a board in almost no time, because you don't actually have to flag every mine - just reveal cells until every unrevealed cell is a mine, e.g. Link to video So an interesting question might be to ask - if you had TAS levels of luck, what's the most mines you could have on a board, while still solving it instantly? ... But that's actually not interesting - just have there be one less mines than the board size. Then whatever tile you click on solves the level! So a slightly MORE interesting question would be to additionallyrequire every mine to be adjacent to a clue (so no mines entirely surrounded by mines/out of bounds). On a 15x15 board I get 96 (pretend the 1s are the appropriate numbered clue):

Walls don't real, the TAS: Link to video (Quick explanation: SMB has VERY different physics art different frame rates, so you can make the frame rate lower to clip through walls or higher to skip cutscenes. Yes vote! I was looking forward to a TAS of this game, and my expectations were met. The pacing and visual spectacle is great, and the TAS optimization on display is obvious, with such a jank method of moving around that you can control very well. I think this is the kind of game where movement is so weird that there could easily be many future frame wars, but we'll see if anyhone takes the ball ;>

I watched this one and found it interesting! I also agree that the last step was tricky to follow, but it looked correct on its face. His next video is going to study permutations in depth, so it might end up being a primer for this video.

It seems like the desire to keep the branch count low is not doing anything productive except hurting the desire of TASers going forward, so I am not sure that the rule is having any desired useful effect.
