You guys care way too much about 'entertainment'. The run is an improvement to an already existing run. Regardless of how the camera changes, it is still better. That should be enough reason to accept it. Entertainment should only be a factor (in publishing) when the point of a movie is not speed running OR if someone adds entertainment to a boring run but is still able to tie/beat the time. I apologize ahead of time for having an opinion since I know basically no one at this site agrees with me.
^ this. It's not too big of a hassle to change the entry every three or four months per entry, right? Why not do this?

I am in such awe of this run that I will sign in to this site for about the fourth time. I really love this run and appreciate all the hard work done by the team. Yes vote, hooray. On the subject of screenshots, I do like the wallkicking upstairs one, but notice its limitations. Whatever, they're all good.

Or... you could BLJ on the BoB stairs to get into the BoB pillar, backflip, do a BLJ on the BitDW stairs, and get to BBH. That is probably way too slow though.

Yaay, I was mentioned. Go me. In all seriousness, though, I do know exactly what I did there. And no, I highly doubt it's possible on the castle without Toad's Tool 64. Basically, I was trying something out with one health unit and got burned where the corner of the platform meets the wall. I tried out prolonging death by jumping around, but it didn't work. Essentially, when I landed the last time, I grinded while on top of the platform thing and died. This works because: What happens when you grind is you go from one platform to another very quickly; this is why water comes up when you grind above a water surface. Any kind of grinding like this hits the top of the water-box for an instant. What I did here was die as I grinded and on the water-box. And just like when you transport to the bottom of the water when collecting a star on top of water (bad sentence, I know) it is very useless and probably temporary. But maybe the grinding thing would work; I dunno.

Nevermind, I fixed it. I removed Mupen from the correct folder for some reason. Works fine now!

Actually, all my plugins are there. I just separated the path between mupen and them. I know how to fix it, I think... EDIT: Aha! Got it! Thanks everyone!

That is 100% impossible, in fact I moved it to the desktop. Uh oh. So, one FINAL question: where should I move it allllll back to?

Nope, I just closed it. That can't possibly be it. Hmm... I'll look for the plugins folder. EDIT: Yep, every file (as far as I know) is there. I even see Jabo... I don't know what's wrong. I'll take a screenshot.

Well, the thing is, there isn't anything in the list. I can't even click the dropdown menu! I don't see how I bypassed it the first time... EDIT: Wait, I think I know. The rom rezipped itself.

Sorry for double post, but now it isn't working again. Now it wants me to configure the Graphics Plugin. When I get to settings, everything is blanked out. It gave me this message before, but somehow I bypassed it. Can someone help please?

Hi everyone, I am a huge admirer of TAS's, especially for Super Mario 64. So, I decided to give it a shot. I went to the place to download Mupen64, and got it. (Windows, version 0.5.1) Next, I got a game (Super Mario 64) from DGEmu. So, I booted it up, and great fun was had... for 3 minutes. The controls were frustrating, and I couldn't even properly lobby BLJ (funny, as I can do it on my N64). So, I looked around for how to do Frame by frame, slow motion, etc. And found the FAQ section. I opened it up along with Mupen64, and to my horror, none of it worked. The - and + sure enough did change the percentage at the bottom, but it didn't get any slower. Nothing worked. It does have savestates, and they work fine, though nothing else does. It doesn't even show the number of frames. So, I'm wondering, is it Mupen's fault, or is it the ROM from DGEmu's fault? And lastly, should I just stick to 16 star speedruns on my N64? -Quate
